You honestly can’t go wrong with Old Ebbett Grill - the place reflects its history (dating back to the late 1800s when it was an Inn/Saloon) and has an extensive menu known for their seafood, specifically oysters. Took my daughter (who did not want to go into DC after her graduation from Georgetown, and said this better be the best meal I ever had) - it did not disappoint as she indicated the pasta was one of the best she ever had and left a happy girl saying everything was awesome and thanking me for taking her there.

At first the hostess offered us a table in a far corner next to the door to the outside area and after asking to be moved she put us in what I think was a prime location-not sure why she didn’t put us there to begin with. The wait team and food instantly made me forget my annoyance at the hostess. For the next two hours we had AMAZING service and AMAZING food. Our waitress knew everything about the menu from drinks (cocktails and wine) to food/dessert. We had the perfect amount to feel full and so happy. It is not often these days to have an experience where you can’t wait to give them more tip than the recommended amount. Well done!!

Founding Farmers is never a disappointment. It always exceeds the high expectations left from previous dining experiences at this wonderful restaurant. We are in DC for police week every May and this is the first reservation we make. Our waitress was so kind and helpful and attentive. The food is somehow better each year. This is ALWAYS our favorite place to eat!

This place has become our favorite Italian restaurant. Great food, great service. I only docked it 1 star because of value. I understand everything today has gotten very expensive and you pay for what you get. I paid over $400 for a meal for three of us which is not affordable for most people, especially families. Our meal included only 1 cocktail and 1 glass of wine, 1 appetizer, 3 entree's and 2 desserts. They do not have gelato or ice cream, however the cakes and baked goodies they have are enormous and delicious. Maybe I'd rate it 5-starts if they only had gelato. Not sure why the Italian restaurants in Georgetown do not have ice cream or gelato? Is it just me? It won't stop us from coming back here, but definitely we have to save up a little to come and enjoy a meal here. Yes, we would recommend it to our friends. If anyone from Filomena's is reading this, please put Gelato or ice cream on the dessert menu - pretty please?

Discover Arlington

After you've seen all the monuments, your palate deserves a whirlwind culture tour too. Arlington is a short Metro hop away from the National Mall. It's home to everything from Greek dining that draws inspiration from Spanish tapas-style plating to restaurants where you can build your own burritos. Of course, areas like the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City and Pentagon Row are the places to be if you want the full upscale experience, but you're never out of walking distance from some of the D.C. area's famous freshly-cooked Ethiopian injera or Vietnamese pho. If you're worried about overdoing it, just remember that D.C. has the nation's highest number of vegan eateries per capita and features tons of vegetarian options.
