The Restaurant itself was very pleasant. Some of the staff were under trained to serve food.
The food was very basic not what i had expected, more like what you would get at a Harvester.
White wine should be served chilled or cold, not room temperature and should also have the appropriate cooler. Dishes should be put on the table and not handed to you which i did not like.
The ambience was very nice, i just feel it needs to be improved with the staffing and food as this could be a really nice venue. I must say we did find it very clean and the toilets were spotless.

If you like eating in the front room of a B and B and don't expect too much from the cuisine fine. The staff however were friendly although ignored any constructive criticism. I my case the Duck was way too salty (probably forgot to rinse the salt off before cooking). It should be said that the Crab cakes were good and the wine as expected.

We were not expecting to enjoy the food as there was very little on the menu that appealed to us. However after a complimentary taster we had a very enjoyable evening. The staff were great and the food was surprisingly good.

We have visited the restaurant for a French-themed dinner and it delivered up to our expectations the food was good, with decent sized portions. The food was more of a gastro pub quality (definitely not Michelin starred level), but for the price and combined a good service it still presents an excellent value.

The restaurant is dissapointing. The broccoli tart was just a microwaved slice of quiche - perhaps lunch menu left over. The service forget to take our coats and when asked we received a look of indignance.

It explains why it was virtually empty of a Suturday night. I will not be returning.

New Steine Restaurant , Bighton, midweek. Decor modern. Service attentive. The set menu had an interesting selection. For starters we ordered Salade Perigourdine, Sweet Potato and Broccoli soup, Tomato, pancetta and parmesan Tart. Unfortunately the soup arrived tepid and even when sent back it came back luke-warm. We had the same problem with the sea-food Risotto, served luke warm and the rice was over-cooked. The texture of the Duck-breast was not quite right. Good puds.

When there are only 5 options on the menu you do not expect them to run out of one of them especially when it is probably the most popular dish being the steak and it was only 8pm!!

Overall service was good and food ok but definitely not the 8/10 I was expecting
