Indian restaurant situated in Newent ,Gloucestershire, the Newent Tandoori winner of many Awards (good food guide, take away guide...)
There is quite a varied menu and you can have the spice levels adjusted if required. Very friendly staff and nice seating. Shame it hasn't got a drinks licence but they are happy for you to take your own wine etc. Visited this restaurant several times over a number of years and have never had a bad experience. Also has an excellent Take-a-way service. I highly recommend this restaurant.
My whole experience of my Birthday meal was very good lovely piping hot meals cooked to perfection the only drawback was our wonky table that kept moving every time we went to eat although we could of asked to be moved. We will defineately be going back in the near future.P.S. Our waiter for the evening was a cheeky chappie lol
We went for a birthday treat on 31st December and although they were very busy they made my day special and were very attentive. The food is wonderful and the Restaurant has a lovely atmosphere - brilliant! We will be back!
Service very slow, no starters and still took one hour to get our main meal, which was more of a stew than a curry. Flavourless, plates were dirty, not licenced.
When we got to the restaurant they did not know we were coming although we booked through Toptable, we ordered 2 starters and 2 mains, they forgot to serve us our starters and our main meals arrived after some time, food was good when we eventually recieved it, will give the restaurant another chance though.
The restaurant is really very nice inside, clean tidy and also very clean modern toilets. Like many Indian restaurants the menu is quite vast, however, the staff are always on hand and very willing to help and will arrange for your meal to be mild if that's the way you want it. Generally food is not served quickly which is a good sign in my view as it is all freshly cooked to order, but when it's ready it is on the table promptly with warmers to keep the food hot. Portions are quite generous and contain more than enough meat, unlike some who hide small portions in lots of sauce. Take your own alcohol which keeps the bill at a reasonable level and there is no corkage charge. All in all a pleasant place to go with friendly helpful staff.
