The service was very slow. Our waiter not only had our section inside but had a large section outside.
Wait time to order and even get water slow. All drinks in plastic cups. Crab sandwiches yummy. Desserts taste like box Sara Lee👎. They sell gift cards online, but don’t know to use them . Had to pay tax separate then told couldn't use on alcoholic beverages. Wait staff and bar tenders friendly.
Returned for another good waterside dining experience that was marred only by the very loud music and "lounge lizard" behavior from one relatively small boat docked near our table that we have seen there before. why do the restaurants there tolerate this (i.e., noise ordinance please!!!)
We showed up for a reservation the area smelled dirty. Host was not welcoming. Had to remind her we needed a server after several mins. We left.
Outdoor hostess was rude and actually deleted us from list for seating. I went to check and noticed we were marked off. When I asked why said she called but did not see an incoming on phone. We were also standing 5 feet away. Anyway was argumentative about it. Got seated at a decent tabled outside by the river. Service was very slow after that. Waitress had to many tables and did not check on us for refills. Food was good and reasonably priced. Customer service needs work.
I enjoyed eating here - dining alone, I was amused by the large group at a table next to me taking pictures of the salad! And having a good time. My meal was fine. If I hadn't had an extraordinary and wonderful experience at the restaurant next door the previous night...this didn't quite measure up. The menu was quite limited. The drink kind of watery. But it was okay. I wouldn't cross it off my list. But that restaurant next door...mmmmm
Loved sitting outside near the water and enjoying the view. Food was great!
Our server, Virginia, was terrible!! She was on her cell phone constantly at the server's station or chatting with other servers. We had to get her attention several times to order more drinks or clear the table of dishes.
I never actually got to eat anything here as after being seated and then waiting for 20 minutes for someone to take my order, I left. I understand they were busy, but there is ZERO excuses for a person to have to wait so long for service.
Hosts did not accommodate my specific requests for which I book table a week in advanced and the waitress took way too long to serve us on the upper patio. I left no tip unfortunately.. nicks great place to go but service slow
Wonderful staff. Very helpful all around. Look forward to returning the next time I am in town. Perfect meal to end a perfect day if sight seeing!
The service was bad.!she brought appetizers without plates. She seemed in rush to go serve other tables .... the cinerary was nice .
the tables were wobbly so we had to keep moving to find one that wasn't that bad but we still got a wobbly table
Good food, drinks and music. The outside seating view was beautiful.
We showed up early and they immediately found us a table. The specials were great, especially the salmon. A waiter could not have been better, he was pleasant, efficient, helpful and made the dining experience very nice.
excellent view but very basic menu. cleanliness should be improved. there were pieces of food from previous patrons on one of our chairs. Staff were friendly but seemed focused on everything other than their customers dining experience.
We received warm white wine however the server did take it back and replace it. The tables outside were a little dirty. Our water was warm. The host did not ask if we wanted inside or outside seating so we ended up walking all over the place before sitting then sat us next to two families with kids when there was plenty of space.
The restaurant had a very poor smell, the the silverware was dirty and the food overpriced, poorly made and nasty.
The food was very good, but you pay for the location. The service was excellent.
The best Spare Rips ever!
First time for two of us. Thanks to manager Maria for letting me use two gift certificates at once. Wonderful food and great service (Issac)
Even thought service is terrible , for what it is, it is overpriced , you are paying for the location and all restaurant in the Georgetown waterfront have similar price range I would suggest because of its location. They do have variety of draft beers and sits outside and inside. I do think they need to improve their service . Not much to ask for a drink not to take 20 min and come as what you ordered when you are paying $15 for the drink or that they bring plates for you to eat your appetizer. Server was trying but bless his heart he couldn’t come back soon enough. The chicken breast has bones and I thought the vegetables were greasy, I would only recommend for convenience of location.
We had a reservation but they don’t take reservations for outside and it was a nice evening to sit outside. We were seated right away, kinda far from the restaurant but the service was excellent. Great food and wonderful ambiance, too.
Very load inside. Could not hear or talk. Great service and food.
Nicks location is great, but the price and atmosphere lacked. The food was very expensive for what was basically Applebees quality food. The restaurant itself was so loud we couldn't hear the waitress (and I'm only 22 so my hearing is great). Overall it was just an ok experience. Will not be back.
While the food was great- it was EXCESSIVELY LOUD. It's more a pick-up/party atmosphere rather than a restaurant for a family outing as ours was. We couldn't even hear the waitress taking our order- we asked to be relocated to a different table where it was a little quieter, and while that helped, we left there feeling like we had been to a rock concert. Great place for those who are young- not so great for the older crowd who want to be able to have a conversation over dinner.
I'll be surprised if this restaurant stays the same and doesn't close or change management. The food is average at best; the prices way too high; the menu selection is so uninspiring and very limited; and the ambiance doesn't even make up for the all the other disappointments because it is perhaps one of the loudest restaurants I've ever visited. It was even louder than most bars I've been to. The one thing this restaurant has is a decent location on the river's edge, but that is literally what you will pay exorbitantly for because everything else was well below average.
Had a reservation for 7, didn’t realize it was for indoor only. Noise level inside was at a shouting level in order to hear and to be heard. Thankfully the host staff was able to reseat my party outside once several tables were cleared and with minimal wait time. Outside next to the Potomac is definitely the way to go when dining here. Wait staff was very courteous and timely, the food was tasty, well presented, and delivered in well timed stages.
Rough crowd. Was with my 13 year old and watched a group get escorted out. And it was not even 8:00pm.
I made a reservation thinking they would sit me outside and they told me reservation were only for inside.
I ended up sitting on the side terrace ( not the main) that had a little biew butbnot the best.
Food was just ok
Waterfront location but most tables can't see the water. The restaurant wasn't very clean. Service lacking. "No you can't do that" was the answer to most of our questions. Most likely will try another restaurant in the area.
Mature clams were too difficult to chew. Very disappointed with how the manager handled the complaint he didn't seem to really care brushed it off saying no one else has ever made that complaint. No offer to send a substitute appetizer. Not professional. While the other dishes were fine the bad taste he left me with left me no desire to return. 😑
Great food with outdoor seating
Everything was fine, but they blasted country music throughout the restaurant which was rather offputting for a seafood restaurant on the Georgetown waterfront. It wasn’t a causal bbq joint and the music really ruined the atmosphere.
Wasn’t all that impressed. To start with even with reservations CANNOT sit outside. Chicken nachos had very little chicken other than the hat they were good. Chicken tikka masala NOT enough spice and lacked flavor. Salmon avocado salad Salmon nice flavor 3 small slices avocado.
Will not return
Food was alright, not spectacular but not horrible. Little pricey, but our server was amazing! So funny and very on top of everything. She made the experience worth it.
Extremely noisy with airplanes every three minutes. Food was good. Waiter very friendly and attentive.
