I went to Nico's for my birthday (this is either the second or third time I have celebrated here) and as always, it was a great experience and the food was delicious. This is one of my favorite spots in the North End and recommend it to all my friends. The quality of the food is great and prices not over the top, the staff is excellent, and the ambiance is fun and modern with a little old school vibe. Will definitely be returning again soon.
We had an overall great experience at Nico! The food was some of the best I've ever had in Boston, and the service was amazing! It is a small space and therefore pretty crowded and loud, but that's my only complaint. Everything else went super well!
We had to wait an hour plus after our reservation time. We weren’t seated till 9:30 for our 8:15 reservation. Apps came fast but main courses took forever. Over priced food for mains. Not tasty
A great place, amazing food, and spectacular service.
Very good food, unfortunately the service was not the best but would go back regardless.
Delicious food. Incredibly clean. Authentic Italian atmosphere. Helpful, happy, knowledgeable staff. Beautiful renovation. The sea bass I’ve lobster ravioli was good to the last drop.
Absolutely terrible. This place used to be our favorite. What happened to the management.!?!?Food overpriced with poor quality now. Service was awful..,,,the waiter was pleasant but not at all attentive. Worst part however was the LOUD music. Felt like we were in a club full of 20 year olds. Wasn’t the nice, cozy atmosphere it used to be. The female hostess/managers outfit was so inappropriate with cleavage falling out. She was encouraging her drunk friend who was dining to stand up and twerk another guest!!?!? Absolutely appalling. Never going back.
Restaurant was very busy don’t know if that was because it was Sunday I’ll because of Covid. First problem did not have the wine that we ordered off the wine list and a poor substitute was offered. Next for caccia bread came out ice cold. One pasta dish ordered with sausage and broccoli Rob pasta over cooked. Your Parmesan OK but nothing great and pasta was overcooked. They need to get a little better at what they do prettyPlace and service was decent young man was helpful
Such a beautiful spot. Had reservations for 4 on a Saturday was so worth it! From the service to the food and drinks and the music. I will definitely be eating at Nicos again
Nico continues to overbook for reservations week after week. I have now been there 3 times in the last 1.5 months (because the food is exceptional), but we have waited close to an hour every time for our reservation! This is not a one time thing like they try to tell you. It happens every week. Be prepared to wait an extra hour after your scheduled reservation time.
We visited Nico’s while in town for an anniversary trip. Service was spot on. Our server was very attentive and accommodated all our requests. We ordered the table side Cacio y Pepe made in the big cheese wheel. It was a fun experience to watch it being prepared. Only draw back was that we were sat downstairs and had to go to the wheel upstairs rather than it come to out table side. Overall a great meal and we met a nice couple sitting next to us.
Due to Covid we haven’t been able to visit Nico in over a year. I nearly cried when I saw out favorite waiter, Eddy, was still there. They took advantage of the downtime to renovate the space which was so well decorated, clean and comforting. The service is amazing, the food exquisite. Luckily for anyone who visits this gem made it!
Our server was amazing and the Cacio E Pepe experience was amazingggg!!
Very friendly staff! And food and view were amazing . Highly recommend it
Nico's is my favorite restaurant. I haven't been in a few years so I was really excited to go and see if it was the same. It didn't disappoint and we still absolutely love it!
We made a reservation for 8:30 and showed up right on time, but proceeded to wait more than an hour for our table outside in the cold. I feel like they need to organise their schedule to prevent this, as almost everyone who had a reservation was waiting outside for a long time. Despite all of that, the food was good. They also did not charge us for our drinks because we waited so long, which was nice but still doesn’t excuse the fact.
Food at NICO was great. Vibe was a little weird with MTV and boxing on the TV which didn’t really have the north end feel I was hoping for.
Place is great, service was a 10, food was delicious
waiter over an hour for our reservation
I took my boyfriend out for NYE to Nico and very honestly it was a complete waste of money and the food was terrible. After all the other reviews and their sister restaurants we surely thought it would be at the very least good- the food part was the cute little Italian table for two with decorations for the new year. The waiter was doing probably the best he could but also gave the vibe that he really did GAF and rushed us out after dinner- no “would you like another drink or dessert,” Thisbe guy legit dropped the check and dashed. I would not recommend NICO, our dinner for two cost $150 and was about the quality of a 99s or Applebee’s.
Go to one of the other restaurants owned by the same guy not this one
Rigatoni with sausage delicious as was chicken, saltimboca and burrata appetizer. Arancini were tasty
Great dinner out - food was good and service was great
The chicken parm was excellent, per usual! Was very pleased to see them taking covid guidelines seriously (it's really hard with the limited space in the North End) and had a delicious, enjoyable dinner.
Experience was great. Come here every year for my birthday and it never disappoints.
Awesome! I don't need fifty characters to write a review!
It was hard to hear the waitress with her mask on and the noice of the restaurant. I believe they only have a beer and wine license so no liquor. I ordered the lobster ravioli and was not happy with it. It seemed like it had been made ahead of time. Barely warm and no flavor. Scallops and shrimp pasta dish with truffle sauce was delicious!
So happy with location, staff and food. Will go back again!!
Perfect and delicious! The pumpkin ravioli was divine!
We sat at the bar and had drinks and appetizers. Our server/bartender was friendly and accommodating. Our food was delicious and my husband joked that he was going to order a second appetizer of the roasted red pepper stuffed with sausage and broccoli rabe. Great wine list. My husband ordered a cocktail that didn’t really match the description. It was supposed to have whiskey, soda water, and blackberry puree but there were literally two little arils of blackberry in his drink and not much flavor other than whiskey. Other than the drink it was a great experience and we would definitely go back!
I went here a few years ago and was not impressed by the service and went back this past weekend and was still not impressed.
Checked another one off the North End box. This place was amazing! We will be back!!!
The food was amazing - the team really did a great job making it a special evening. Thank you Rosanna + Jasmine
Food is ok but not great. We’re in the midst of a pandemic, so you can’t be too picky.
The service and food at Nico was phenomenal!!!! Our waitress was so sweet and helpful! We sat outside and couldn't believe how she treked down the street to deliver our food...a smile never left her face! So personable! The food was delicious too! We can't wait to come back!
The food at Nico was delicious! I think the pasta dishes were slightly overpriced, but my boyfriend claimed he had the “best meal of his life” so can’t go wrong with that. We had a reservation, but the restaurant was super backed up, so we ended up still having to wait 30 mins for our table. Overall, it was a great dinner, but I wouldn’t say any better or worse than other Italian restaurants in the North end.
Food was absolutely incredible. We loved everything we ate. They were extremely busy so no one checked on us until we were done. But I would definitely go again
It was very nice but the beets from the salad had no taste. Not sure if it was overcooked when they we boiling them. Also, the pasta dish I had with the sauce and sausage had at least 5 big pieces of garlic in the dish which made it very salty and overpowering. I wish the menu had written that before I ordered it.
my favorite north end restaurant! The food is always delicious and the menu is traditional Italian but with a unique spin on some of the dishes
Just an escape from the mundaneness that is social distancing of COVID
Awesome service and food!!
