We had a wonderful experience at Ninety Acres in celebration of my wife's birthday recently. It was a beautiful evening, making it ideal to start off with a drink in the serene garden out back. The dining room was beautifully decorated in a sophisticated and tasteful way. We were greeted warmly, and the service by everyone we encountered could not have been better. The food was also some of the best we've ever had at a restaurant. We ordered the 3 course Prix Fix option, and all three of us were very pleased with every one of our choices. The salads were fresh and flavorful, while the scallops, halibut, and salmon were light and delicious. Each of us was also all very pleased with our 3rd course choice of duck, pasta, and strip steak, respectively. Dessert and coffee were no less impressive, and the flourless chocolate cake was served with a candle for my wife, which topped off a memorable evening. We will definitely come back for a future special occasion.
Good place with ambiance and good food.
Not so customer friendly, as you are obligue to do fixed price at $75 for half size portions, if anybody in your table chooses that option. This is not right to customers. It may be convenient to the restaurant, but not customer oriented. Customers should be allowed to choose any option provided by the restaurant in their menu
Dining at Ninety Acres is a memorable experience. It never disappoint. The atmosphere, drinks ,food and the wonderful service are beyond the best.
I called ahead and asked if we could be seated at 7:00, instead of our reserved 7:30. I was told that I might be able to be seated a little earlier, but not at 7:00, but we could enjoy drinks at the bar. We arrived at 7:20 and we were told to wait, but we could have a cocktail at the bar. They seated us at 7:32 and the dining room was at 50% capacity and gave us the worst table near the entrance. They left us with a wine list, but no menus and we waited 10 minutes before our server arrived with menus. The waitress never brought us our bread or my husband’s second drink. They supposedly have a dress code, but the hostess was in jeans and a casual shirt. I have eaten here several times and each time the service is more lacking than the last. In a business where hospitality is paramount it amazes me how so little is done to meet the expectations of diners. They really push the alcohol and I don’t drink. They knew it was our 30th Anniversary and they came close to ruining our night out instead of making it a special occasion.
Fabulous, as always.....................................
For a high class restaurant like this I was a bit disappointed because I read where you can go early and enjoy the grounds and have drink but the bar does open till 3:30 and the kitchen at 4. We came a long way and was hungry and could not get anything to eat or drink not even a bottle of water. It is not what I expected at all. I was hoping to be greeted with a warm welcome and perhaps to be shown to a lounge where we could sit and have a drink while we waited for our dinner time. Also there were not too many cocktail with farm ingredients, only a cucumber drink. Maybe I misunderstood about getting there early. Other diners may have better experiences. Not sure if I will go back.
As usual great experience. We arrived 4 hours before our reservation and time flew by.
I hated even giving
It was fine, a little slow but the food is good
The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. In fact, we were waiting for our table and decided to sit at the bar to order a drink and appetizer. My wife is pregnant and made a comment to me about wishing she was able to drink one of the fancy cocktails on the menu. Unbeknownst to us, the bartender (wish I caught his name) made her a virgin cocktail. It made her night!
Highly recommend 90 acres food was incredible ambience it was great server was very knowledgeable
an overall wonderful experience...food was very special
Lovely setting, good food, but it took forever to even order, let alone get our food. Our reservations were for 7:30. By 8:45, we hadn't even ordered our dinner.
Eronica was a terrific server and Lindsay was also terrific . Lindsay made the clutch dessert decision for us which was absolutely amazing and both were attentive . The food is flat out awesome . Pricy but worth it. Do the tasting menu . Very seasonal and very local ingredients including from their own farm on site.
My wife and I love this place. From the ambience to the service to the food, everything is top notch. I would definitely recommend it to all my friends and family and to anyone interested in a second to none experience in fine dining.
The wait and bus staff did not seem to know anything. They seemed very confused and poorly trained. There was raw shrimp on my appetizer plate, they took ut back to kitchen then came out and told me it was tomato skins? Food was not very tasty, salmon tasted old. Just really disappointing overall. Too bad because the location is a prrfect 10.
What a wonderful experience. I can not wait to go back
The food and atmosphere was excellent. We had great difficulty understand the server.
Just an awesome experience. The food, ambiance, service. Everything was top notch. Only issue was the space was chilly. Probably due to 6 pm reservation and it being pretty empty. By 8 it was packed and likely better temp overall. The food, the presentation. I can't complain about a single thing. Just tremendous.
We came in to celebrate my parent's 25th Anniversary and they had a wonderful time! We all had the prix fixe menu and all of the the food was delicious! I had the Beet Salad, Blackened Halibut, and Ribeye, and they were all amazing! The drinks and wine were also wonderful. The only thing lacking was our server, as she was not as attentive and friendly as we may have liked, but the other servers assisting her made up for her lack of attention. We will definitely be back again!
Always a fantastic experience at Ninety Acres. Beautiful atmosphere and fantastic service.
90 Acres never disappoints. The food is always very good and prepared from extremely high quality and fresh ingredients, the Wine List has some real gems on it at very fair prices, the service is very good and the setting is stupendous.
Food was great, service impeccable. The ribeye was outstanding, as was the risotto. Was there for a birthday and they made it very, very special, which we appreciated. Will be back for another special occasion!
Loved everything. 2 issues stood out on food
tomota salad - too mushy tomatoes.
halibut - sauce had pockets of excess sauce
loved the rest
Wonderful restaurant for a special dinner or occasion. The atmosphere, food, and service were all top-notch.
We hadn’t been there for some time and they had a reservation available on open table so we decided to take it. We had a drink at the bar and the bartender was very knowledgeable! He knew the beers, the scotches and the wines!
Our waitress was great and the food was amazing so it was a great experience. I’m glad we went back
Simply superb. Grounds, building, decor, staff, and especially food. Amazing. We did the prix fixe option, 3 smaller courses, so we could try more. Definitely doing the "bring me food" chef's tasting menu next time!
We celebrated our 35th Anniversary so it was a very special occasion. It was a splurge for us, and something we do infrequently. Servers were great, sommelier was helpful, food was delicious. We did the Prix Fixe dinner, and thought it was a good way to taste a few things. Dessert was delectable.
Great birthday dinner on outside patio with a Friend. Had a wonderful experience. Only criticism is The outside server/Bartender was very green, unpolished and unkempt.Nice enough but needs some serious training. However megan is your superstar and always does a fabulous job. Your valet is great and so is the front desk team. Food was great as always along with a beautiful presentation and willingness of chef to accommodate special requests.
We went for a special occasion. We can not wait to o back and do cooking classes and take some friends back to sit by the firepit Great place!
Good, not great food. Very expensive for level of food
In general things went well. The wine list is exceptional. Three issues were:
1. My wife asked for her steak to be RARE. I restated the RARE two times, and told the Server that if an error is to be made, it be that the steak is too rare. A medium steak would not do. We should have asked for the French au Bleu - which is about 100-105 deg F. It came medium. I had asked for the rib eye to be medium and it indeed was, but so was my wife's steak.
2. There was a sameness to the sauces - all were dark and heavy.
3. THe deserts were straight-forward. THere are some truly exciting deserts out there - the pastry chef should try for a few.
This restaurant has improved significantly
Amazing, beautiful, delicious dining experience for foodies and all. I have wanted to eat here for years, ever since the restaurant opened. I finally got the opportunity when our family was celebrating a birthday. I booked online and was able to get a table on a Sunday evening. The restaurant is in an amazing location, on the upper 90 acres of Natirar(Raritan) park, and is part of a complex of buildings (Mansion - event space, pool/clubhouse-for members)at the top of the hill. The restaurant is in a beautiful older building which has been renovated into several dining areas. We sat in the dining area closest to the open kitchen. The service was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. My 4 family members all ordered the prix fix 3 course meal (starter, 2nd course, and main), plus dessert/coffee. The prix fix was plenty of food, beautifully presented, and perfectly prepared. This is fine dining in a casually elegant setting. Great for special events. Can't wait to come up with an excuse to eat here again!
There is an area where you can do a walking tour of the farm? for 10$; we did not arrive early enough to do this and the tours were over by the time we finished eating. But next time we come, I'd love to do the tour.
The grounds and atmosphere are lovely. Food could improve. It is expensive
I think the waiter could have been a little friendlier. He seemed a little short and not happy to be waiting on us. After being in the food service industry for 20 years I know everyone can have a bad day but it should not affect the way you treat the customers.
Celebrating my husbands birthday with friends. Service was absolutely terrible. We had a table for 8 to celebrate a birthday. We were rushed to our table from the outside area. No bar service. You had to go up to the bar for drinks which took a long time. We were rushed only to have the slowest service ever. Service was not only slow but server forgot a salad for one person, a dessert for another. Then it took time for them to figure it out. It took 20 minutes after we gave the credit cards to pay. Wanted to order a second bottle of wine and the server couldn’t be found. Had to go to the front desk to get help to order wine. The server was done after the second course and a different server was put in place for dessert. 4.5 hours for a 3 course meal. Our company was fantastic- the service and food was okay. Not spectacular. Hard pressed to dine here in the future.
Great ambiance but no quality control from the kitchen. The fried egg was nearly completely cooked and our ice cream sundae was previously frozen, making the ice cream very hard and lacking flavor. I expect better for the price and offering, where the ingredients are very premium.
Appetizers and desserts out of this world. Entrees good but not exceptional. We had the duck which was tough. Veggies undercooked.
Excellent food & service in an awesome environment
