Lovely flavours and good quality of food.
Booked table in the morning and upon arrival Noy the manager didn’t even know about our reservations. She kept telling me that I just booked. Also, mentioned anniversary on the booking but no acknowledgement and nothing offered. She speaks very loud and all people in the restaurant looking at us, which made it quite embarrassing as if it was our fault. She needs lots of customer service training. She took our payment and didn’t even ask, if we enjoyed our dinner.
Our special dinner / evening ruined by 1 person.
Delicioso!!!!!! Hermoso lugar
Excellent food, nice ambience, service variable and slightly taciturn
We have the good fortune of experiencing very good authentic Thai cuisine in the USA, so this experience, while lovely in some areas didn’t meet our expectations for flavor or unique dishes. We sampled 4 different things and all but one was too sweet.
Brilliant food, great location, friendly staff. Would highly recommend
We had a lovely dinner at Nipa Thai. Great authentic Thai food along with very good service.
Great great food. Enjoyed the ambiance and the people serving were very friendly!
Delicious authentic Thai food. We had one of the set menus - excellent value and plenty of variety. The Green curry was exceptional and the Coconut ice cream was delicious. The service is friendly and professional - overall a fantastic experience. Can’t wait to go back.
Really tricky to review. Evening of two parts. First part just perfect. Second part from hell, as they accommodated very large and joyful private function in the middle of the restaurant. I have seen other guest smoking places, leaving early etc. You just can't have somebody joyful private party not in the function room, but in the middle of 5 star restaurant. Just can't!
Fabulous food and exceptional service. The ambience is relaxing which makes you want to just relax, and stay all evening!
Impeccable service and excellent food. Very generous portions! Cannot wait to visit again!
Food was great
That was a great experience. We took one of the menu (6 courses) with wines matching.
That was spicy, tasty, yummy. We were really happy by the selection of the dishes and interested by the wines. A special mention to the red wine from Thailand, Monsoon Valley Shiraz.
We will come back for sure.
Very slow service!
We really appreciated the elegance. We had the tasing menu, and loved the soup.
Food was excellent. Service took a bit too long. Staff was very friendly and professional.
The venue is pleasant enough but the service is absolutely horrific. Not because the servers aren’t very pleasant - they are, and are clearly doing their best. But the restaurant is hugely understaffed and the kitchen is either too small or incompetent. The food is OK - slightly better than a Busaba or standard Thai place anywhere else in London, and absolutely not worth making an effort for. Don’t waste your time...literally.
I took my mother there for her 80th birthday dinner - having made a note of that on the booking. First we had to wait 15 minutes just for someone to come and seat us. Food orders took another 25 minutes. We arrived at 8:00 pm. The first food arrived at 9:00 pm. The waitress was very sweet and very apologetic but there was absolutely no consideration or care given. Keep in mind that the restaurant was half-empty at this point.
I mentioned to one of the two maitre’d-types that it was meant to be a special dinner as indicated on the reservation and that we’d like to get something extra for my mother (of course we’d pay for it) and we got absolutely nothing - not even an acknowledgment or an excuse. Instead we got slightly-above-average Thai food, fairly Westernised and served at an absolutely glacial pace. Would never go back. They ruined a special event and I’m amazed that any of the reviews below have had a positive experience.
Outstanding, sometimes as a solo buisness traveler it feels awkward but this was great service and food.
Great food, as always! Limited menu but fantastic flavours.
This is our third visit as we love the place. The food is so fresh and tasty and never fails to deliver.
The staff are so welcoming, friendly and hard working, ensuring that your experience at Nipa Thai is exceptional and memorable.
Cheers again and see you on our next visit to London
9 years ago we celebrated our wedding anniversary at Nipa Thai. It was fantastic. We went again 2 day's later.
After 9 years we went back again for our anniversary. Same quality, same great taste.
Real Tai food. Fantastic!
We had a wonderful experience here. The food was amazing. We had by far the best thai food here. The desert was spectacular as well. The service was amazing and they made my wife's birthday special. We will definitely visit again.
Starters were poor, main course was sensational. Wine was nice and service couldn’t really fault.
Just skip the starter and go for mains
Service was slow. Felt that waiters were not properly trained. Food bordered on Chinese. When asked about sticky rice and mango, was told it is not in season (mango is sold everywhere in supermarkets). Wanted to try a true Thai restaurant. I guess I made the wrong choice. That said, this is my personal opinion as I am very familiar with and fond of Thai food. Maybe their menu is adjusted to fit the English taste?
Located in the Royal Lancaster hotel. The staff are professional and attentive. The menu is simple so quite easy to order. Sat there with friends from overseas who also enjoyed the meal.
We went for a special occasion; very good ambiance and service and excellent food
Tasty food, good service and nice ambience
Quality seems to have declined sadly, and service was very poor tonight. Had to keep looking for waiters to order food or drinks, or clear the table
Food average. Two mistakes on the bill at the end once of which was an overcharge for a glass of wine and the second then resulting in the bill going up.
Top food! I wish they had sticky mango rice though!!
Lovely room. Staff great but not enough of them. Food good, starter portions a little too large. Overall recommend.
There are many Thai restaurants in London and over the years of visiting London, I have been to quite a few. I would say that this was average - not a bad choice if you are staying at the hotel and don’t feel to head out by tube or taxi for Thai food.
The service however, is s but rough around the edges, which makes it somewhst pretentious.
Excellent food and service. Been here 5 or 6 times and surely come back again
The staff were great; friendly and flexible when my friend didn't quite realise that when she ordered the salad, it had lots of fried crab on it. They kindly let her order something else and didn't charge us for the 1st dish.
Nice atmostphere and convenient location. The food wasn't particularly special. I'd say you could get a nice meal but there are lots of other places in London that do it a bit better.
Terrible Thai Food
Don’t go here, worst Thai food I ever had in London.
good service and great food made for an excellent evening
Food was great but quality/taste wise was the same as you'd get in less upmarket but good thai restaurant. The ambience and atmosphere made it worth the visit.
Lovely view by the window, great service and the food was tasty too
