About Noor Jahan
There's something special about Noor Jahan that not only attracts big-name eaters - Hugh Grant, Eric Clapton and Rowan Atkinson, but also a veritable army of devoted regulars who make a habit of dining there. Maybe it's the Chef specialities, like the special recipes for chicken, lamb, king prawns and duck, but also our own British invention of chicken tikka masala. Lunchtimes are slightly subdued with the business of the day, but evenings are more vivacious and warm. The decor is simple, the service welcoming, and the cooking convincing. No wonder Noor Jahan has been a local landmark for nearly forty years.

Noor Jahan Ratings and Reviews
We had a booking for Sunday night and our table for three was ready when we arrived. I recommend making a booking for any night of the week as the restaurant is small. We started with poppadoms and condiments--delicious! We decided on one chicken entree, one duck entree and one lamb entree for a variety. The Garlic Duck was our favorite with lamb in cream sauce close behind. The chicken tikka masala was very good and would recommend it if you are not sure about Indian cuisine. We had one order of garlic naan and two orders of rice and I would order more naan and a rice for each entree. We enjoyed a nice bottle of red wine with our meal. I rate it as one of the best Indian meals I have had in the Kensington area.
Noor Jahan is located on a neighborhood street--not a busy thoroughfare--and the walk there was most enjoyable.
We were so impressed with this place we left the waiters a mega tip. Honestly, the food is smashing for such a good price and the atmosphere is classy but not stuffy or snobby. The waiters and staff were fantastic, good mix of friendly and efficient. No wonder this had such good ratings before we went. Definitely recommend it for a family dinner. We were there on a week night and just had such a good experience in general. It's authentic and cozy.
Noor jahan is one of a kind indian restaurant- small with a great vibe. Service is excellent and food choices are plenty and prices are reasonable. Make reservations early as this place fills up. It is in a lovely part of london( Kensington ) and near various tube options- so getting there is easy
I was very pleased to be able to book my reservation from my home in the US. I had been looking forward to a repeat visit for several months. I arrived a few minutes early and had my choice of tables. I was immediately given a menu and a wine list. It all looked so tempting. My server was very good as well as professional. My meal came at the perfect time as I had finished my poppadums. It was as good as I remembered it. The white wine was perfectly chilled. All in all, it was the dining experience I hoped I would have and I was not disappointed. I cannot say enough good things about my meal. I am looking forward to my return. Thank you NJ!
We have walked by Noor Jahan for weeks now and it was always very busy. I made reservations through Toptable and took some friends who were visiting from the US. The wait staff were so very nice and efficient and the food was delicious! We all ordered something different and shared and we loved them all. Very spicy (hot) dishes are available as well as not very spicy which suits me better.
It was a very good value for our money and intend to go back!
Perfect for a Sunday curry or a special occasion, Noor Jahan suits all types of events. One on one or a big group, it's equally easy and the menu is fit to suit all types of requirements. Share some dishes with friends, albeit if you order the butter chicken I'd advice you to bugsy it, once you've had a taste if it, you will want it all for yourself. The staff is super friendly, service minded and very nice over all. They help to create an incredible atmosphere making Noor Jahan the best indian restaurant in London.
Booked a 1 PM table for 4 people and had the place to ourselves. Wonderful service - we were never rushed despite being the last seating before dinner. One of our guests who had not been there exclaimed that our meal was the best Indian food she had ever had! Our food was delicious, the portions large and beautifully prepared.
