NOPI - Downstairs
It was dilicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yammy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nice food, excellent service, cool ambience will definitely go back again.
The room was bright and cheerful with a beautifully laid out table. Service was informative and very friendly. The food was amazing we savored very flavour. Thank you for a wonderful night.
Amazingly good food and Antonio made it a really lovely experience.
We have had an excellent diner, such a pity the airconditioning was almost at peak level because it was quite cold in the restaurant
Fantastic in all respects! Delightful place, marvellous food and efficient, knowledgeable and unobtrusive service.
Zeer vriendelijke bediening.
Absolutely divine afternoon with the most incredible service, food and ambiance. Could not get enough of the delicious food!! Such a treat.
Great food, front of house a little snobby. Wait staff good a little short on personality.
Loved the original & very tasty way food was put together & presented.
This is what we went there for!!
Downstairs proved to be very good - love watching an open kitchen, noise level @ ambience very good..
We were attended lovely Aussie/London waitress.
Would recommend to others, definitely
Great food. Great staff. Had a nice conversation with the chef.
Everything was fantastic. It wold have been nice to know what “downstairs” meant when booking. But the menu was the same!
Upstairs at Nopi has a lovely ambience - the lighting is better and it feels more special. Downstairs unfortunately felt like an afterthought to me. Being by the kitchen felt like they had just tried to cram as many people in as possible, the air conditioning was on really high so it was cold and the lighting was bad so it wasn’t a very cosy pleasant experience. The food was delicious and service good but I would not go again because it was expensive plus it is a communal table. Upstairs is much nicer and i would only go back if I was seated there.
Loved the food so much fun to meet new people when we ate communally. The staff was wonderful. Brought club soda to the table when I spilled my wine. Definitely would recommend it.
excellent food and server - will definitely go back
I loved Nopi - I've been wanting to go for a few years now since I've been tracing my Ottolangui ancestors who I believe are all related to Ottolenghi descendants despite different spellings. I loved the communal dining downstairs, just perfect. Everything was just perfect.
A lunch to celebrate my daughter’s graduation and end of her A Level examinations. I booked the downstairs option hoping to have a view of the working kitchen but a very tall and pretty flower arrangement blocked our view. If I had known this, I would have booked upstairs which has natural light and lots of nice views. I live in Peru, am a fan of Yotam, I have two of his books, I have been able to make some of his recipes and “adapt” others and that is why I wanted to eat at one of his restaurants and taste the complete flavour of his ideas. We enjoyed most of the things we tried, loved the burrata, the beetroot and the duck entrees. I was a bit disappointed with the green pea pancake and loved the chocolate dessert.
We shared eight small plates plus some starters amongst the 4 of us. That was sufficient. No need to go to main meals, and more variety that way. Starters were not good value. Avoid. Wine and beer excellent. Didn’t have desert. Best thing about downstairs is watching all the kitchen activity and chatting with the total strangers you meet on your table.
The time has finally come: Eating at the chef who often determines what is on our table.
We were seated with 5, including a veggie and a vegan, at a large table overlooking the kitchen.
The ambiance, environment and of course the food are absolutely top here. Have tasted (almost) all dishes from the lunch menu and ended with the delicious desserts.
They will certainly see us here (or in the other Ottolenghi restaurants) again!
Fabulous experience- consistently tasty food, excellent service. This was our second visit and it lived up to all expectations
The downstairs area at NOPI enjoys a nice view of the goings on of the Kitchen and the pantry (which is fills one wall of the room).
The food is excellent (try all the salads if you can) and there is something for everyone. The food came quickly and the staff were delightful.
Overall a great experience and delicious food, but is it worth the £60pp price?
I'm not totally convinced.
A brilliant eve, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent food and great atmosphere. Will definitely be back for more and in the meantime will be recommending to everyone - Thank you!
We enjoyed the setting, the service was good. A fellow diner had wine spilled on him and the response from the staff was nothing short of excellent. We ordered the second least expensive bottle of wine, which was very nice. Four dishes were ordered, the aubergine and beetroot were very tasty. Aside from the order in which our dishes were to appear (which there did not seem to be much choice about) no other guidance was provided.
After our dishes we frankly had not had enough to eat, my wife and I don’t eat a huge amount.
The bill was £106, I’m afraid we just did not believe that we had received value for money with this meal.
On occasion we are happy to spend a fair amount on a meal, whatever it may be, as long as it is good value. Not the case this time in our opinion, we could not recommend NOPI to friends.
Delicious food and drink ( really recommend the Mumbai sling!) in lovely relaxed surroundings downstairs. Attentive service taking into account I had said it was a for a birthday celebration when booking .
I highly recommend going to experience this wonderful haven .
We will be back !
Good food. Portions a little small for the price and it was pretty cold downstairs but would go back.
Nopi is a real treat!
Communal dining is fine with me, but sat in a basement with no windows and surrounded by the larder cupboard ingredients would still have been a novelty had it not been for the prices being charged. £76 for two for three starters, 2 side dishes, 2 small (125ml) glasses of less than chilled wine and an overly spicy tomato juice did not feel like good value. The service was excellent and couldn’t be faulted. Upstairs looked altogether more civilised, but with main courses downstairs at £20-£26 I hate to think what upstairs must be costing. It was a little disappointing for someone who is a huge fan of Ottolenghi recipe books.
The meal and service were both fantastic, we had a lovely evening, thank you
We came here for my sons 30th birthday and it was a really special occasion. Our waiter was delightful, the food was wonderful and we enjoyed seeing the chefs in action. Overall a really lovely experience
Excellent food and service, we will definitely come back
Fabulous meal with friends for a wedding present. We had to wait a while to be seated as the people before were being slow. If I came back again I would choose to sit upstairs.
The toilets are awesome!
Food was really delicious - highlight was the beef shortrib with corn puree!
A complete delight.
Decided to go after seeing it's included to many lists of top vegan option restaurants in London.
-If you're a vegan stay away. Only vegan main course was a rice dish that reminded me of the plain rice you get as a side for a curry (but the curry was missing) and cost 20 quid. Another (I think) 11 quid for a starter of 6 asparagus with some sauce which tasted alright, nothing amazing and 5.5 quid for roasted spicy nuts. Great flavor on those but still, 5.5 quid for a bowl of nuts.
-If you're a meat eater the food is not bad but still very overpriced. Had the truffle polenta chips which were very nice but could absolutely not feel the truffle and a nicely cooked pork chop. Nothing amazing.
We had a fabulous meal. I have eaten at Nopi before but never downstairs on the shared tables. I wasn’t sure how that would be but it was great. We had a fabulous waiter (can’t recall his name!) he was attentive and very helpful with the menu and any requirements we had. I think this is probably one of my all time favourite restaurants. A lovely evening and great surroundings.
A pre theatre dinner, great service the food was sublime as always
A lovely dinner prior to a show. Wonderful service , nice ambiance and food was special
Dined at NOPI alone, but felt so welcomed by the staff and other table guests. All recommendations made to me were spot on and I had a very enjoyable experience. The downstairs atmosphere is quite unique, but promotes for interaction between guests.
I would recommend, but upstairs ! It was very very drafty, i felt very uncomfortable and had to put a scarf around my neck -
Great atmosphere and lovely food. The bathrooms were the craziest I’ve ever seen! All mirrors! Check it out!
Downstairs at Nopi can be noisy as the kitchen is open. We chose downstairs to see the kitchen but were seated at a table where this was not possible. We Sat at a shared table and this added to the experience as we chatted to three other couples from around the world. The food was fabulous as was the service.
