NOPI - Downstairs
Nopi was just as I'd hoped and expected except for the service. The service was impeccable, the member of staff who looked after my wife and I was so friendly made us feel very welcome. I wish I'd kept her name.
The food was beautiful also, we will be back soon to try more from the menu.
Waiter was great! The courgette fritters were to die for
Still good! I like downstairs, sharing a table with others.
Really lovely and attentive service. Made the night. That and the yummy veggie food
An amazing experience again - ambience, food, everything it has to offer. My partner hadn't been before and was thrilled to be taken. He thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
The food was excellent, the entourage downstairs was nice and by eating in community you meet a lot of different people! Upstairs it was very noisy and I was glad to be downstairs.
Love everything about NOPI. The food, service, atmosphere is impeccable. Come here every time I visit London.
Try the rainbow trout with apple watercress pesto, exquisite.
Happy to have booked to eat downstairs - quieter and more ambiance.
I want to return!
Fabulous & memorable experience. Loved the communal dining, which was actually very private!
Excellent restaurant!! My wife is a big fan of the chef
Very expensive. Small dishes. The starters were great but the main course was not more then fine.
Very informal and nice atmosphere, scrumptious food, wonderful cocktails and attentive staff. Overlooking the kitchen is a big plus! Fit for foodies!
We had an incredible time. Thank you so much for an amazing time. Food, environment and service was outstanding!
We will be back :0)
I was looking forward to come and dine at NOPI, because I’m a huge fan of Yotam Ottolenghi and his cookbooks. I wasn’t disappointed! We were welcomed very friendly, and afterwards we were advised very well about what to choose. We sat downstairs at one of the communal tables, with view on the kitchen, a nice atmosphere.
We took a couple of plates to share, and were surprised about the quality of the food, everything was really tasty! (one little downside : we took the absolutely great nuts as an appetizer, but the plates already came before we could finish them)
Had a great evening, and I will certainly come back when I’m in London!
Amazing food, fantastic service. Loved it so much that bought NOPI. Cookbook.
Food is absolutely delicious but quite pricey. For a dinner in that price range I would appreciate more room at the table and less noise in general. Staff friendly and helpful.
Initially we had some issues with the food as our main course came out with a long delay (we had already started to eat the sides which were delivered promptly). We were then very disappointed to find that our chicken was undercooked. This was when their amazing customer service kicked in. Not only did they deliver a new beautifully ccoked chicken within minutes, it also arrived with a complimentary side order of delicious aubergines. The staff were extremely apologetic and removed the main course off our bill and as well as giving us the complimentary side order they also offered us a box of wonderful chocolate and raspberry brittle. High praise to the staff and in particular Christine (manager) who was professional, friendly and efficient, as she turned what could have been a negative experience into a positive one. We will most definitely go again.
Amazing food. Lovely laid back but attentive service. Couldn’t be better.
Over in London with Friends for the Marathon
I had lunch at Nopi last Wedsnesday with two friends during a short stay in London. We were familiair with Ottolenghi’s recipes so we were very curious. It totally lived up to our expectations, we had a wonderful time. The menu consisted of unusual combinations but the taste was great. Our waiter was very kind and helpful, and even let us taste his own favourite dessert. I would definitely recommend to share smaller dishes so you can try more of the menu.
Nopi is rightly loved--we took a break from a hectic day of tourism--family from out of town + london resident--and opted for downstairs' more casual ambiance. Slightly regretted the decision, passing through the lovely dining space at street level, as we descended downstairs, but it was fine and since we nearly dined alone felt even a bit luxurious. Kitchen is in full force adjacent to the communal-style table. While this can be overwhelming in, say, a pub situation with more background noise, there was no competition with other ambient sources so it was possible to have a conversation at table and not resent the presence of the kitchen after the novelty might have worn off. The food did not disappoint--the chicken and lamb rump especially winning raves but my small plate of cod over black lentils was no slouch either. The prawn were also excellent (apparently!) and vegetables were of course (this is Ottolenghi) delicious and interesting. Presentation is unfussy but precise and details like a perfectly balanced simple salad of bitter leaves maintained the same high standards shown in the main courses. We didn't taste their desserts but hop to come back for that pleasure at some point.
was here for my birthday.. it was really great.. first i was a bit disappointed.. the ambient is less than casual.. but later .. downstairs near the kitchen the stuff try their best to let me feel comfortable.. i really enjoyed it.. the food is amazing.. the service undescribable.. you ll never regret to come here.. the have a candle and a happy birthday on the dessert.. it was a perfect birthday.. i ll come back.. for sure..
We had a very nice table around de kitchen between the stock, de Lamb was very full and rich of taste and had a nice crunchy crest.
And the braised chicory was a little sweet en had a nice bite.
It looked all beautiful and it was a very special occasion, the celebration of my husbands birhtday ( who passed away last year) with my three teenage kids.
So it was all extra special.
Tge food was well presented, full of flavours, typically Ottolenghi. The service was good, knowledgeable but not intrusive. The location downstairs was interesting, close to the kitchen, so one was entertained by the goings-on in preparing and serving such delicious cuisine.
It was an amazing experience. We truly enjoyed the food. And the service was exquisite! Argie was a great host!
It’s good, although I wasn’t bowled over by the flavors as I was expecting, but it’s a good. I had the fritters (quite good), polenta and truffle chips, prawns (sauce very good flavors) and the chocolate ganache. The ganache was excellent.
Service was indifferent, bordering on rude. Wine was poured without offering a taste - it was awful and when we complained a wine list was simply plonked on the table without a word. It was difficult to get the waiter's attention. We were largely ignored!
Food tasted good, but we all suffered a little later.
A shame our special evening was spoiled.
Would definitely not go back.
Food was not special. Ambiance of the London Underground. Heavily overpriced.
Nopi is a beautiful place where to eat good food, the prices are a little high but they worth the quality of food and the experience.
we have spent a wonderful evening at nopis, the food was delicious, as well as the recommended wine. the waiter was super friendly and very helpful with all the questions we‘ve had, since we were not to familiar with the different plates on the menu. we will for sure go back there!
Understated downstairs with communal dining. Wait staff helpful and friendly. Food was inventive and delicious.
Had a great evening with outstanding food at Nopi’s downstairs.
Lovely food! I loved everything. Will definitely go back
It was an unforgetable experience! The food was delicious, the service was very personal!! I even got the chance to take a picture in the kitchen with everybody!! Thanks to the entire crew!
Excellent food and presentation.Very good service,The dessert (pineapple and ice)superb. We back again:we have been twice one and two years ago
Super fun and the food was good - same as so many hip restaurants these days. Super noisy but what else is new?! On the expensive side for what we had. Met nice people at the shared table and really enjoyed the experience overall!
Fabulous food. Everything felt crafted with lots of foodie surprises. The menu was very different and felt special and unique
The food was amazing and our waiter Luca was fantastic! He was definitely one of the most attentive, helpful and lovely servers I've ever had. Couldn't recommend more highly!
Great food, nice table downstairs. A pity you have to wait standing in the middle of a crowed room.
always love visiting Nopi from Australia when we are over, food is yummy and service is great
thanks for another good night
