North Star Restaurant
Small, intimate restaurant with excellent food. We love the atmosphere and the staff is welcoming and pleasant.
Special place.....special food
We love North Star. In an area with few really good restaurants, North Star stands out for its lovely / cozy ambience and very high quality of food.
Fantastic restaurant. Absolutely one of our favorites in the Westchester area.
A very enjoyable dinner at a reliable in-town place. Appetizer soups were tasty, and endive with pear was crispy and refreshing. Main dishes were full portions, half the spaghetti bolognese taken home for enjoyment the next day. Cod was fresh and flaky, while the tuna special with couscous and slaw was done rare just right with a grilled outer rim. Wine list had both multiple single glass choices and modestly priced bottles. Service was very good with polite attention from the primaries.
We had a great time. The food was awesome and we love the bartender Marty. He is a lot of fun!
We had a party of 7. The atmosphere is very inviting, whether you’re on a date, large party or with children. The food is phenomenal hands down and the portions and cost is on point. The bar has TVs and they do on occasion have acoustic sessions. The noise level is great- not too quiet nor loud.
The staff is amazing!
We are fans of this small local restaurant. It offers a quaint and relaxing atmosphere with diverse contemporary cuisines, a rustic and cozy bar, good wines and friendly patrons. Live bands perform Thursday nights. Lots of locals from Pound Ridge visit this home-like place.
We have had great dinners and mediocre dinners at North Star. This one was mediocre. I ordered the spaghetti bolognese and it was just ok. There was not much sauce and it did not stick to the pasta, it was watery. The pasta was al dente which I appreciate. My husband ordered the turkey meat loaf and it had no flavor, very bland. I must say the potato leek soup was delicious and the warm chocolate chip cookies were also delicious. We will return and see if the next one is a great dinner but we thought that to pay 27 and 29 dollars per entree and feel so dissatisfied there are other great places where we have great meals for those price levels in the area.
Attentive service, prompt seating, fabulous Wiener schnitzel and salads, especially endive.
I have been in restaurants for 20 years and find local dining often doesn’t live up. North Star is a Star up North. Worth the trip. Great food, executed well plus a service team that is warm, friendly and understands hospitality. * for North Star.
The food is always great
As good as always
Great place, but very pricey for what it is.
This family owned and operated establishment is managed by David who welcomes all guests with a warm smile. If you frequent often, he typically remembers your drink and where you sat on your list visit. While the menu is not large, the food is locally sourced and never disappoints. There are options for carnivores, pescatarians and vegetarians. Local bands play every Thursday night. Great local spot in a town where there aren’t many.
Was looking for a low key but nice place. North Star didn’t disappoint. Was not rushed and the service was great. I think that the portions are meager and not necessarily in line with suggested portion sizes (the fish was VERY small) but tasty nonetheless. Would go back.
Great neighborhood spot with terrific food. Good overall value.
North Star is our local excellent restaurant and we can always rely on it for fresh excellent food, kind, attentive, friendly, professional service and a great local night out.
North Star has it all! Great servers, amazing food and the best atmosphere. It is our favorite restaurant around!
Family friendly, wonderful food and service. We enjoyed the dumplings, sea bass, and cod - all of which were well balanced and delicious! Dessert is great as well - carrot cake, creme brûlée and cookies are fantastic. We will definitely be back!
Always the best!
We celebrated an early Christmas Dinner at North Star and we’re v
Steak was small, thin and tasteless
The salmon was served raw
Nothing special about this place. Expensive for a simple what I would call nicely a “pub”. Very noisy and bland. Not worth a trip
North Star is a great place to meet with friends, especially when they have live music. Dave is always accommodating, the staff and the food is amazing.
We love this local place and the management and wait staff really are the best!
Feels like my 2nd kitchen
North Star is my favorite restaurant to hit up every time I visit the East Coast. The food is delicious and they have wonderful specials. The staff are all lovely and accommodating.
We met friends to have dinner and enjoy the evening together.
Our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Fun bar scene with live music on Thursday nights!
Superb food as usual. Wait staff very attentive and a lovely dinner even on a Sunday.
Chicken dish was a little dry everything else was just right.
Our service is always wonderful at North Star Restaurant. The food was delicious and we did not feel cramped at our table. We had the daily soup (tomato), organic greens, salmon and halibut. All perfectly prepared!
Great atmosphere, great service, great food, what's not to like??
We’re new to the area, live in Ridgefield, however, a friend was sitting in for the keyboardist on Thursday so we booked a table and now have a new place to go on Thursday evenings. From the looks of it, EVERYONE knew each other.
Had driven by several times and always wanted to try it - we were very happy with our meal! The scallop and burrata appetizers were delicious! We had Salmon & Steak for dinner - they were good and the dessert ice cream sandwiches were also delicious! Wine was great too. We’ll be back.
Great as usual. Always wonderful. Mushroom soup of the day was very good. Steak cooked perfectly with nice green peppercorn sauce - perfect for using with the fries. Son enjoyed the pasta bolognese and he’s a picky eater.
Cozy restaurant in a house setting. Seasonal american fare but also some European dishes. Great service, worth the drive.
