Excellent food, beautiful presentation, excellent service from all. For my wife and me it's expensive, especially the wine, but we have accepted that, although it limits our visits. We appreciate the performance of all of your staff, especially with all the difficulties of the virus demands, and thank you for staying open through it all.
We love it there and they have an awesome patio that is perfect for outdoor seating! Food is great!
It was a nice experience. Havent been to a restaurant (outside only) since nov. i felt they were really going above and beyond to keep everyone safe.
Our service and food was fantastic!
We ordered two appetizers - ahi tuna wontons and the egg rolls. Won tons were great but the egg rolls we beyond salty. Our original server didn't tell us that they were closing within an hour of our arrival so we rushed to place an order before the kitchen closed. Two of us ordered the steak - which sits on a bed of mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach. Potatoes tasted dry and old, there was hardly any spinach and the combo of the pickled onions and balsamic glaze just put the entrée over the top and not in a good way. My husband ordered the salmon which was about $25 - it was a child size piece of salmon and a large amount of rice and broccoli. Flavor was good but not a good value. My mom ordered the veggie burger which was decent but not as good as times past. While we were eating out server left. So we then sat waiting for someone to tell them our steak meals were no good. Eventually a very nice young man came to assist and grabbed the manager on site. Both gentleman were wonderful and tried to resolve our issue with $15 off and a free pizza. Unfortunate that now the last 3 visits have been bad.
Very nice staff and food was awesome!!!!!!!!
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in along time. I took my brother here to celebrate his birthday, we had reservations. We waited 20 min for a server to come even take our drink order. The host noticed us waiting so long and offered to bring us drinks. After another 20 minutes he finally came back to take our food order. We ordered appetizers and meals for 4 people. Another 20 min and all of the food came out at once. He did not come back for refills. My salad had no dressing, my sister's chicken was undercooked, my brothers burger was rare, and the fries were cold- the waiter avoided our table. Finally the manager came and asked us when we were done with our food if we wanted more drinks. It was not busy, there were maybe only 4 other families in restaurant. We originally came to try the famous "peanut butter" thing and we ended up spending 200$ on bad food and horrible service. This place was recommended to us by friends who raved about it, but we had a bad experience.
Food was good. Table was on an angle so glasses rolled into the floor. Waiter seemed very lethargic. Not rude but lacked any kind of enthusiasm.
The food is very average here. I got the chicken and shrimp rice bowl for lunch, the chicken was over cooked and not much flavor. The service is very good and the outdoor patio is a plus.
This was the first time I ever booked a reservation where they actually acknowledged the special occasion I added in the booking. The host was great, as soon as we sat down he wished my friend a congratulations on her engagement. Mia was also great, nice and attentive!
Made a reservation for 7:45 but there were reservations available later. When we put our orders for drinks in we were told the kitchen would be closing soon so if we knew what we wanted we should order soon. They brought the appetizer out with the entrees. No one checked back with us about refills or takeout boxes till we were ready to go.
Would definitely return. Food was good, felt very comfortable and safe in this current environment.
Donovan was such a fine person with his recommendations and smile!
The service was the best in years of going to NYAJ ❤️💙❤️
Overall good
Food was very good. Service was spotty (e.g. waiter did not come back to fill up drinks without me intervening). Prices are a bit higher than usual for this area, but maybe that's for the restaurant to recoup some of their losses during the last year.
Here they do outdoor dining well. The ventilation was correctly done and the overhead heaters kept us warm enough to take off our coats. We were there for lunch and our salads were yummy.
Excellent food. Enjoyed immensely. Service was A+.
Good food, great getting out! The manager was very welcoming
V day dinner
Food was greasy and the taste just wasn't there. The ketchup they gave me was old not even the french fries could pierce the hard top layer of dry ketchup.
It was nice to get out of the house after being locked up during pandemic. Our food was great, server was polite, efficient and masked. We are outside in a tent under heaters and we were quite comfortable.
We went to celebrate a birthday. Totally understand not being offered a complimentary dessert but to be charged almost $10 for a small slice of cake, seemed a little over the top!
You guys did a great job keeping us warm during covid season- we would definitely return as the drinks were great and the service was amazing
Wait staff (Terrance) was a wonderful breath of fresh air! Keep up the great service
The food was great and the service was terrific! NYAJ's Gaithersburg staff made us feel very welcome and took care of us.
This is one of the few good places around nearby where we can still dine comfortably in an outdoor, heated, patio.
The table was dirty and it rocked. The ambiance 👎🏼. We didn’t even order we left.
It is so nice to be able to go out for dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. I’m grateful we have outdoor seating at Gaithersburg.
Chris is awesome (and so was our food)!!
Pretty bland and unremarkable. Not terrible no but didn't leave an impression. Ive had better for the price. Also outdoor seating only kinda sucks. Heaters or no its still to cold.
Great food and service! One of these days we'll get there for dinner. The nicest servers too!
Servers and managers were so attentive!
We keep trying to love NYAJ but there is always something wrong. This time we were served raw bread!! We were seating in their ample outdoor seating area, with very little light but it was in fact raw, cold, dough!! My husband ordered a pepperoni pizza and confused the server by asking for the "joe schmo" salad. They brought him a jow schmo pizza instead. They quickly threw some pepperoni on it and brought it back, and added it to the tab, charging for 2 pizzas. The server still was amazing and promised if we come back HE will make sure we have a perfect meal.
A meal at NYAJ's in Gaithersburg is always a satisfying experience.
Great outdoor space with powerful heaters. Food was good and service was fantastic. Love their gluten free options too.
We went to celebrate an early birthday dinner. We received gift certicificate from restaurant and used it.My husband had their burger and really enjoyed it. I ordered the chicken Parmesan...it was delicious and enough for a second dinner. Very good outside dining and Covid standards...we were at the Kentlands location.
The bread was very stale. French fries came out cold and hard. We usually have no problems at NYAJ, it was strange.
I took my 2 teenage granddaughters for Sunday dinner. We enjoyed our meals and the service was very good. They are doing a very good job during the Covid crisis...the outdoor dining was pleasant and toasty warm under the heaters.
They have a nice outdoor seating area with heat lamps. Love that they have a menu to scan and if needed a paper menu upon request. I ordered their clam chowder and it was good, not too salty as some chowders can be. The crunchy salad was delicious and the grilled chicken on top came out steaming hot! Husband ordered the Thanksgiving Turkey special and he cleaned his plate!
