Number 16 Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Excellent service, they run a tight ship so you do need to be in on time as they serve their food in the order that people sit down. Think the kitchen is really small so not a lot of space to cook multiple dinners at once. This allowed for a well timed space between courses - the right amount of time to relax and chat between courses. I like that a lot! The food was incredible too, portions sizes were perfect. Unfortunately we're students so the pricing was a bit on the high side but we thought it was worth it!
I cannot recommend No16 highly enough! Absolutely 1st class food and excellent value for money. Staff were knowledgeable and helpful. My fiancé and I booked as a treat and were blown away by the quality of the food, the presentation and the value for money. The restaurant is compact and welcoming and the menu is of Michelin Star quality.
If you visit one top restaurant in Glasgow this year, make it No16!!!
After reading some very positive reviews online I booked No.16 for a business meal as had a colleague over from the United States. We were not disappointed. Food was amazing, staff were friendly and attentive and overall it was a great dining experience. Will definitely be back.
Absolutely fantastic meal experience from start to finish - lovely little restaurant, great music and knowledgeable staff. Interesting menu - everything we had was delicious and a great fusion of flavours. Every plate was beautifully presented AND not overly expensive!! Perfection.
Our table was booked for 6.30pm, but because of the snow our taxi was late and we got there at 6.45. The menu was, as always, difficult to choose from : we all wanted everything. However, choices were made and everyone enjoyed all their three courses. I had the scallops, the venison and the chocolate peanut fondant. It was all stunning, cooked to perfection and bursting with amazing combinations of flavours. I felt that the starter and main course portions were somewhat smaller than in the past, but that meant I had room for the fabulous pud. We knew we only had the table till 8.30 and, as that time approached, we were told we could, if we wanted, move to another table and relax for a bit longer so that's what we did. We're lucky to have No 16 so close to home and we'll be back soon.
I was taking friends out for dinner who have moved to Glasgow from Denmark so was keen for somewhere that was very typical of the west end and offered fantastic food and service. As always, No 16 didn't disappoint! Our waitress was just fantastic, the perfect mix of friendly, knowledgeable and helpful without being too in your face! The food was stunning again, as always (clearly I'm a big fan!) and my friends were equally impressed with the whole experience. Couldn't recommend highly enough, great job team 16!
We came for lunch on a Saturday when visiting Glasgow. The serving staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious and excellent value. The menu was interesting and varied, and the wine list featured several less well known but excellent wines. If we lived closer, we would visit again as soon as we could.
This was the first time we have booked at Number 16. I would highly recommend this establishment. Great food, great service, great ambience. My wife and I were treating friends who were here from Australia. Everyone had the same opinion of the restaurant and the food. I look forward to the time when we shall find at Number 16 again. Thanks to all the staff for a fine dining experience.
This was our second visit to Number 16 following a last minute decision to go out for a meal. This place is really unusual, very small and you can see into the kitchen. As before the welcome was very warm and we sat on the mezzanine this time and were able to 'people watch' through the window without being seen !
The food was excellent and just as we remembered it, freshly prepared and well presented.
To start Anne chose the scallops and I had the Charred Radicchio salad, both were really nice, and I was pleasantly surprised with the salad as it isn't something I would normally try.
For mains, I had the Spiced Monkfish, this is becoming a habit as I had the Monkfish & Ham Hough on our last visit ! Anne had the Venison and both dishes were excellent.
As we had a bit of room left Anne had a Cheesecake dessert, de-constructed as is the way, but very nice. I opted for a selection of cheese from George Mewes. George's Ragstone goats cheese is the only goat cheese I will eat, fortunately some of this was served, so very pleased.
All in it was a very good night, nothing was hurried, so we were able to savour the food and enjoy our night.
This has quickly become one of our favourites in the city.
I last visited Number 16 a few years ago and absolutely loved it. Going back, I was not disappointed.
The food was amazing and the best value for money meal I think I have ever had. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who enjoys beautifully blended ingredients and wonderful flavours.
This restaurant is one of mine and my husbands favourites the food here is always amazing and the staff and lovely and friendly always welcoming you with a friendly smile. We recently ate an a Michelin star restaurant for my husbands birthday and then ate here the next night and I would say the food was on par. I would highly recommend No 16 it’s great for all occasions from a birthday to a quite meal... it’s never disappoints.
We loved everything about this restaurant. Very cosy, warm, great music and excellent staff. Everyone very friendly , knowledgeable about their products and good humoured. The food was creative and delicious, nice portions (not too big) which we prefer. Definately go back to Sixteen, highly recommended!
In our experience, this is an excellent restaurant for those that appreciate truly fabulous food.
Given that Glasgow's dining scene is choc-full of decidedly average places, and seemingly only a handful of really good ones, it was a pleasing to find that Number 16 can go straight on the list along side 'Two Fats' and the like.
You know what I'm getting at; you've paid good money for a very average dinner, wondering how some of them are getting away with it when there is so much competition in the City, but get away with it they do. However Number 16 have nothing to worry about - the food was a cut above, and the service provided by the team of two that were on duty was exceptionally well judged.
We had their Christmas menu. It began with a glass of mulled wine which was delicious, and everyone at our table was keen to get the recipe. The menu was short and sweet, with a nod or two to the festive season. I had cured salmon, venison, and cheese.
It was £200 for four plus tip, which isn't cheap, but the food isn't 'cheap', and I'd take this every time over the unaccomplished cooking of the city centre 'ten a penny' places and just go half as often.
Its a tiny building, which you'll see from the images on the reviews, which may not suit everyone, however that aside, this is easily one of the best kitchens in Scotland.
