Number 16 Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Lovely cosy restaurant with great service. We had lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary and both had scallops to start, then I had ox cheeks and my wife roast monkfish tail. We had a side of cauliflower gratin and for dessert I had chocolate ganache and my wife peanut butter cheesecake. All were excellent. A lovely restaurant and highly recommended.
My wife and I ate here on November 7, 2017. We interacted with a male and female who I assumed were the proprietors, but I may be mistaken. They were both constantly on the move around the restaurant doing numerous things, but always had time to check in with each table frequently to see if anything was needed. They were both exceedingly friendly which made me feel very at home in this charming, cozy place. They were also quite knowledgeable and descriptive about the wine list and each of the dishes. My wife and I both thought our dinners were quite amazing and the seafood broth that accompanied my fish entree was one of the best things I ever tasted. When I mentioned it to our server (possible proprietor), she volunteered to get me some bread to soak up the remainder. This was an unbelievable dining experience in terms of the food, the service, and the ambiance. I would insist to any acquaintance traveling to Glasgow, that they must dine at this restaurant.
A thoroughly enjoyable experience. We were lucky enough to receive a gift voucher from family to allow us to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary and will happily come back again at our own expense.
The food could not be faulted and the staff were attentive without being over bearing.
Thank you for helping make our evening special.
Booked Number 16 for my 8 year anniversary because a friend recommended. The great experience I had started from the confirmation of the booking. The day of my visit the restaurant contacted me to confirm the booking and left me a VM since I was working and couldn't pick up the call. When I returned the call the lady who picked up the phone was so nice and enthusiastic that set the tone high for what was coming later that evening.
We couldn't have asked for better place to celebrate this special occasion. The restaurant is cosy and intimate, our table was at the mezzanine, the decor was rustic and quirky which us feel at "home."
The staff was so lovely and helpful and really professional without being robotic. The gentleman who looked after us was very approachable and again made us feel very at ease.
The food was delicious!!! We had starters, mains and dessert and every single one of the dishes were exceptionally good. The wine list is also worth mention as there are amazing options there. Please try the desert wine too.
We will most definitely go back!
