Food was very average. Did not leave up to other reviewers comments
Bit of a mixed bag. I ordered the parfait to start which was smooth but sloppy. The taste was quite rough. It came with various crumbs and textures sprinkled on top. These were lovely, just didn't enjoy the taste or texture of the parfait. I then had monkfish with a bacon dashi. The fish was cooked perfectly, however they served the dashi (flavoured stock) at the table. I found this bland and washed the other flavours away. Would have been a perfect dish without this. I wish they had left the jug full at the table and I could have helped myself. My husband had Lamb Sweetbreads to start followed by the Halibut. Both his dishes were lovely. For pudding we shared the dark chocolate brownie with ice cream which was very good. We shared a nice bottle of shiraz which was reasonably priced. The restaurant was quite cramped and more in style of a bistro than fine dining, however if my two dishes had been has good as my husbands I would have happily paid more for our meals.
I've lived in the west end of Glasgow for 15 years and never heard of this place so it shows how much I get out.
The venue is surprisingly small but that guarantees you some incredibly attentive staff. It is tastefully fitted out and provides a very cosy atmosphere.
The staff are incredibly attentive and happily explain the menu to you.
The food was incredible. I had the scallops to start and the monkfish as a main. Both dishes had clever layers of flavour to the point that as I just about finished my scallops, there were other flavours buried beneath. Very clever indeed.
I can't fault the experience I had in any way. It was a perfect evening for our group.
good food and great service, and the waiter is so handsome
Lovely meal with very attentive service. Great value for money.
Amazing food and excellent service. Highly recommend.
Lovely meal and service. I’ll be back if I’m ever in the area. Cheers!
What a wonderful venue . The food was fabulous , service was great with helpful friendly staff . Lovely cosy ambience. A truly great evening!
Superb! Been meaning to go for a while and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back. One of my new favourites in the area - simply fantastic all round!
No16 is one of my favourite restaurants in Glasgow. The food is always delicious and creative. It has a lovely cosy atmosphere and the staff are always very courteous and friendly. A total wee gem!
Great food and service. Really enjoyed by all 4 of us
Food was amazing and lovely cosy setting.
Good variety in the menu and made with local produce. Best meal I’ve had in a while
Wonderful cuisine and very pleasant staff. A great option in Glasgow.
Ate here for my partner's 45. Far exceeded all my expectations and me being a chef that is hard to do. Beautiful food and excellent service. Highly recommended.
A wonderful dining experience, the quality of and presentation of the food exceeded expectations and the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable in every aspect of the menu. We were made to feel very welcome and enjoyed the whole experience.
A number of other restaurants in the area could do well to follow the example set by No16,
ten out of ten.
It was my partners birthday and we hadn’t been to the restaurant in a long time. On arrival we received a warm welcome, escorted to the table and the menu explained in a very professional manner, it was at this point we realised the great standards had never changed.
We decided to go for the three course lunch menu @ £19.95 and as it was a celebration a bottle of the house champagne @ £31.95 excellent value.
The food was delicious and well presented and the service was first class. The only negative was the cheese portion, I am aware it’s a three course lunch menu but advise the customer and perhaps put a supplement on the menu for extra cheeses.
Thank you No.16 for a fabulous day.
It was a very pleasant experience in a small but atmospheric restaurant
Amazing food, delicious wine and excellent service. Will definitely visit number 16 again.
Fantastic food and great service, everything you could you want.
My second time dining and it won’t be the last. Amazing flavours, great value for money and friendly waiting staff.
Great as always: very good food, lovely service, modest prices.
This was our third meal at Number 16 and it was as memorable as the first time - not just the food, which is superb and creatively presented, but the warm welcome offered by the friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Diner with five colleagues who are also good friends (and foodies who dine all around the world). The food was fresh, tasted awesome, creative, local, in-season. Service was friendly and attentive without being stuffy. Check was reasonable. 1 Michelin star quality food in a less formal atmosphere. Very nice wines at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend this Number16, both for business meals and informal meals with partner or small group of friends.
Holidaying in Scotland arrived in Glasgow in time to celebrate a friend’s 60 Birthday. Booked Number 16 following good reviews on Trip Advisor. Great find, lovely food, friendly staff, all in all a great night.
Lovely night, great service, wonderful tasty and beautifully presented food and accompanying wine.
Fantastic food, beautifully presented. Perfectly proportionately sized helpings mean you enjoy the tastes to the end of the meal. Outstanding, professional service. Very nice evening indeed.
Great little restaurant serving Scottish food with a twist. Really enjoyed the Pan seared John Dory and the Raspberry Parfait.
Nothing against steak and fish & chips but the only time we really got served well prepared delicious food with a kick was here. We were touring around for 10 days in Scotland.
We love No16. The food is always beautifully cooked and presented. The staff are excellent, attentive but not intrusive. We recently moved back to Glasgow after living in the South of England and we welcome great food at extremely reasonable prices.
Number 16 never fails. Menu is always varied, updated seasonally, but most importantly, highly delicious. Have visited several times and never had anything less than an amazing experience :-)
The standard of food and service was excellent, but we find that the portion sizes get smaller each time we visit. I had the duck and found that the portion size had been reduced to two small slices from the breast. This was hardly filling.
We enjoyed everything about Number 16. All the food was delicious and well presented. Good wines by the glass. Nice ambiance and excellent service. I hope to return soon!
Lovely small quiet restaurant no rush and the food was superb will definitely be back when visiting Glasgow
Really enjoyed our meal at No.16 and would definitely go back but if there was one negative it would be the price of the scallops for a starter dish which we found a little on the pricey side especially when there is only two scallops served.
Given a voucher as a gift and was not disappointed. The service was excellent. Food was really lovely. We’ll definitely return 👍🏻
Personnel were very friendly, fitting in with the overall experience of relaxed dining, but with standard of cooking and presentation we would have expected with a ‘posh’ restaurant. A great place for a special meal, when the kids don’t do getting dressed up!
Really lovely evening at Number 16. Welcoming, warm and friendly. Delicious food and wine. Gluten free catered for with ease. Perfect night out!
This is really a place where the food makes up everything:)
No. 16 is a small, intimate restaurant where the emphasis is on the food and service, both of which were very good. The set menu for lunch was adventurous with a whole range of tastes, most of which come off very well. Portion sizes are just about right for this type of rich food and the prices they charge.
