Four of us. Two wrong steaks were delivered. Basically 100% entire wrong order for two patrons. Burger was just average for the expectation of the place. Buffalo chicken sandwich could have been Chick-fil-A. Which Chick-fil-A is better. Overall not worth the $$$. The waiter did correct the filet orders. One was dry and over-cooked. Wife was happy with hers after a 2 hour wait after being seated. The mgr did correct the order. And comp the steaks. I did tip the waitress well. Wasn’t her fault I feel.
It is a great special restaurant. Whenever my husband and I travel to DC we will go there for lunch. The service is wonderful! Food is fantastic! Love it!
Try dining at the oldest tavern in the city! Classic, old pub style and food including burgers, seafood, and an excellent raw bar. It’s a great spot for families with children or grab a seat at the bar if that is your thing. Relaxed and easy, quick and reliable service with a convenient location near the White House and many other attractions in the area. This does seem to get quite busy around lunchtime, so make your reservation!
Amazing thanksgiving dinner. Excellent service
Thanksgiving dinner was wonderful.
An awesome Thanksgiving dinner that was JUST like homemade. Wonderful service, fabulous wine...THE place for any celebration. THANK YOU !
A couple of excellent (& strong) cocktails, Oysters Rockefeller, and an entree to suit everyone, followed by our, of course. Impeccable service. I'm here every time I'm in town.
Family Thanksgiving dinner
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving made special by the fact Old Ebbitt Grille could accommodate us. Mauricio our waiter was wonderful, pleasant and attentive. The food was delicious and we took full advantage of the Turkey Thanksgiving dinner!!! Great experience … Enjoyed by the Anderson’s
Waiter Sal was nice to us. It was nice at the grill
Great place for Thanksgiving lunch!
We have come to the Old Ebbitt every year for thanksgiving lunch except for last year, of course, and the level of quality for food, service and ambiance never diminishes. As enjoyable as ever.
Our Thanksgiving brunch was great. We really appreciate what reliable service and good food we can always get at Old Ebbitt, even on the holidays.
We try to come here every year. It has always been great. This year was no exception
Loved our waiter
Food was delicious and came out timely
Excellent - as always
We picked this restaurant for the history and the ambiance but ended up seated outside in what looked like an atrium from a mall (indoors but outside of the restaurant) with no character at all. It felt we were at a different restaurant and completely missed on the main reason we choose this restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly but after taking our order never came back, and we kept having to waive at her if we needed anything. The food was great, but that is the only good thing I can say about our experience. For the price we paid, I was disappointed with the overall experience.
This was our favorite restaurant while visiting DC. We know everywhere is having staffing shortages. You wouldn't know it from the outstanding service and food at Ebbitt Grill.
Excellent service and good food.
Beautiful historic place.
Our experience was great with the exception of the pork chop not being cooked. I was surprised that they just took the chop back, rinsed it off, and put it back on the grille. The steak was also not cooked the way we ordered. The crab cakes and our other meals were fantastic though!!
Visiting for a few days and every person we spoke to said to go visit Old Ebbitts
Very uninspired tourist restaurant resting on its past reputation.
Very nice interior and atmosphere for a fun get together with friends and family. Our waitress was the consummate professional. The food was a bit “normal” I.e. hamburgers, sandwiches, pastas, and a few classic entrees, Atlantic Salmon, Swordfish, and Crab Cakes.
Ok restaurant but not a place I would need to run back and experience again.
We LOVE Old Ebbitt and are looking forward to Thanksgiving dinner there, the six of us!
Super service and good food.
Wonderful staff and food! Would most definitely go again!!!
Was our first time in DC and wanted to go somewhere classic. This was the perfect pick! I highly recommend the crab dip, and the crab cakes! Great atmosphere and our waiter was one of the very best I’ve ever had. Highly recommended!
Lunch after touring local museums
We eat at Old Ebbitt Grill every time we visit DC - until Covid that was at least annually. This was our first visit since 2019 and it was as good as ever! Service was perfect and food is as always - right temp and wonderful flavor. We had New England clam chowder and fresh jumbo shrimp cocktail to start and then had the crab cake meal with coleslaw and garlic spinach for lunch.
Hubby had a couple of Guinness Stout snd I had Ginger Bee and an Irish Old. Fashioned.
We look forward to another delightful experience next spring!!
We went to Ebbit's Grill 3 times, once for drinks, once for brunch and last night for dinner. Drinks and brunch were great, the fried chicken and waffles were very tasty, my wife like the crab crakes, lot's of crab. Dinner was a bit different, very, very busy, our waiter told us that it's the 3rd busiest restaurant in the US and I believe him, if you go make a res and be prepared. The wine list is meh, reasonably priced though, food was ok, salads were fine, raw oysters were awesome, my wife's trout was good and my pork chop was very good. Large portions so you won't go away hungry. If you're in DC it's recommended.
Amazing staff and classic DC experience. Great seafood selection but plenty of land and veggie options too. Amazing bread pudding! Wonderful homemade pasta! Very welcoming of kiddos even though it’s a nice place.
Love this restaurant when visiting DC!
Ambience in main dining room excellence, service was quite good; food was good but a bit pricey.
Food and especially the service was amazing. Our waiter was very helpful in answering questions and making suggestions. Very courteous and attentive. Loved her. We will definitely come back for the Happy hour Oysters.
The seafood and cocktails are always great here! It is a must-do place while you are in the DC area!
Early dinner date. The food and service were as awesome as ever. Never had a bad meal since 1993!
Sitio obligado si estás por la zona. Ambiente cool, hamburguesas muy sabrosas y french fries muy buenas. Servicio muy atento y amable. Muy buena relación calidad/precio.
Old Ebbitt has always been a favorite for business and casual dining. This was my first time back since the pandemic and they have not missed a beat. 5 Stars
Overall, we had an amazing experience and will be back on our next DC visit. The oysters are delicious!
