Great Sunday lunch again. Especially appreciate the many vegetables not over cooked or suffering from being kept warm as with so many Sunday lunches. Just a little too noisy where we were sitting so couldn't hear each other speak!

We had a very pleasant evening at the Old Granary. The food was very nice and good value. service was a little slow initially but overall fine. This is a very decent venue for a group night out at a sensible cost. Ticks all the boxes!

Food would have been excellent had it been hot.

Service was terrible from arrival greeting non existent ( one of those - you have to wait until we have finished gossiping) moments. Through the entire meal and our paying the bill and leaving, never was a thank and goodbye so reluctantly given, whilst still gossiping.

Shame but I won’t be in a hurry to return

This was a family meal for our wedding anniversary and early Christmas as my husband will be working Christmas Day. The table was set beautifully and there were crackers and activity packs for the children. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! Staff were very helpful and attentive and the setting is stunning.

The Lamb was overcooked and tough, I suggest it had not been left to rest after cooking since towards the end it had relaxed a bit and was less tough. My friend had Bass which he said was OK. Both of us would have enjoyed a little more in the way of vegetables. We were not asked if the food was alright either during the meal or afterwards. The table for two was cramped being restricted by a radiator and the proximity of a nearby table. I can't say I would choose the Old Granary again.

We had to wait over 50 minutes for our food to arrive which isn’t really acceptable
I had to chase it up and was told it would be another 5 mins which turned into 15.
Shame. Food was nice but the place wasn’t full so there shouldn’t be that much delay

Shared a fantastic meal with family members who were on holiday in the area, each of us had a different meal from the menu, and were impressed by both the taste and the presentation. The members of staff were extremely pleasant and helpful, and were attentive to our needs. The setting for the Granary has parking available set at the side of the River Stour, you can watch river traffic passing, and you can walk into the local countryside with ease. The Granary is an excellent venue for a meal for any occasion, and at any time of the year.

Very good welcome from the excellent staff. The vegetarian nut roast was very poor but the vegetables and the other meals were very good.
We will return and hope the vegetarian nut roast improves

Good quality food, there was a couple of choices available for vegan diner, which is a nice change.
Building is really interesting and set in a lovely water-side location, very nice atmosphere.

Arrived early, table ready, drinks sorted straight away. Very good method to tell if choice was gluten free. Very little time to wait for food which was hot and tasty. Prices were what you should expect to pay.

We had a nice family meal out at Old Granary. The food and menu were great. Downsides our waitress seemed very distracted and more interested in gossiping with the other waitress than serving us. The overall bill was very expensive but nice food. Shame about service

Great meal and service. Just a pity they have to slice a scallop into 3 pieces for the price paid for scallop risotto. Seems to be all about profits now instead. Otherwise great meal.

Lunch with friends totally spoilt by one table with noisy, disruptive family. Food spilt, child screeching. I know this is a family friendly pub, but maybe very young children should be in another room. Would not come again

Fabulous welcome at this delightful restaurant as always. Food was a little slow in arriving as it was bank holiday weekend, but staff are so nice it's easily forgiven. Shared starter of garlic prawns and great bread was perfect. Steak and stone bass for our main courses were delicious. Special treat is the excellent range of Badger beers. All of them are great so walk there if you can.

Wouldn't recommend this pub. The portion was far too small, cost too much and had to wait an hour for the food. They also forgot a side dish I had ordered and when it eventually came out, it was the wrong one.

Obviously due to the weather (sunshine) and location (riverside) the Granary was absolutely rammed. We were served by Barney who was new and a genuinely nice guy. He was knowledgable and polite, also checking for gluten free options for me.
Despite the business, we were served in reasonable time and, after numerous trips to this establishment, will continue to return.
It is a shame it is so popular as this does affect their Trip Advisor rating, for some, but for me, The Granary is the No.1 place to eat and drink, without question, at any time of year. If I wanted to go somewhere quiet I'd pop up to steak-a-saurus but it doesn't match the service, location or food of the granary - imo.

We took our Australian daughter in law and she really impressed with the service, as were we. Kind and helpful staff ,brilliant chef. For a group which had allergies intolerances galore we were treated extremely well with patience and tolerance. This was really appreciated. Thank you we will be recommending you . Had a lovely lunch at the The Old Granary. Was well looked after from start to finish by the staff. Food was excellent and a great selection of wines. Amelia (lady) that mainly looked after was very pleasant and helpful. I would recommend this Restaurant for a place to eat - not just for the food but the atmosphere and the setting.
