Old Granite Street Eatery
With a menu that reflects a strong desire to provide familiar, comforting dishes having an emphasis on quality ingredients. Combined with constantly rotating craft beer selections, focused wine options and hand crafted cocktails, Old Granite Street Eatery looks to be a casual affordable everyday option for neighbors and community to share in great food and drink. We only reserve 1/3 of our restaurant through OpenTable in order to facilitate walk-in traffic. We also have a large communal table for sit-down service. Please included any children and infants in the total in your party for reservations.

Very limited menu, food and service is just OK.
Went there for a business lunch. Six of us with limited time, food took almost and hour, horrible. Second time long wait for food. Not good! No reason fr it! Wasn't very busy!
The menu offered many options - hard to choose! The staff was friendly and helpful and the food was delicious! Will definitely return!
Food and service is always good here. We look forward to going back.
The Sunday limited menu was limited even more by two items they didn't have. The food was tasteless and the service was very slow.
We had a reservation for 1 hour and 45 minutes before we needed to leave for a theater performance just across the parking lot. We arrived on time and were seated promptly. We did not receive our lunches for 55 minutes - this gave us about 20 minutes to eat and run out the door to make it to the performance. Our server was wonderful - and obviously very embarrassed by two things - they were out of things (apples for a brie and apple salad, pastrami for a sandwich, a breakfast sandwich that arrived with no egg, and eventually running out of shoestring fries) and the delay in serving our lunches. He said they only had 2 people in the kitchen and had run out of food because of very busy Friday and Saturday nights. Why wasn't the manager out buying more apples and pastrami, and why wasn't the manager helping out in the kitchen??? I'm sure every restaurant has a bad day once in a while - but this seemed like something that could have been predicted and remedied. It will be a while before we return to this, one of our favorite, restaurants.
Nice variety for meat lovers and vegans. Shoe string potatoes are fabulous. Its our favorite! Excellent, reeasonably priced wine choices on the glass-wine list. Excellent service; professional, and on-top of what the table needs. You need to check out Old Granite Street if you haven't.
More space between tables
A great overall dining experience. Good food at a decent price. Helpful and courteous staff. Looking forward to eating here again in the future.
Great cocktails. Range of choices on menu. Picked appetizer fabulous. High energy crowd. Wait staff professional and friendly.
They were closed ... equipment problem. Very disappointed.
I have been to the restaurant numerous times over the past few years usually before going to see a show at the Pioneer theater. This last Saturday was the worst service I’ve ever had. We got drinks maybe 10 minutes after we arrived. Another 5-10 minutes went by before our order was taken. We did not actually see our food for another 40 minutes. They knew we had show tickets. I am hoping that it was a fluke. I will give it another try but if not then I guess I’m going to have to find another place for my pre-show dinner.
The this is our third time eating here and our issue is they are always out of items on menu when it’s early in evening 5:30/6. Not told when server comes to table to take drink orders. Told when we go to order. That is frustrating. Has happened every time we have been here.
Good variety of craft cocktails, appetizers, sides and entrees. Enjoyed both the charcuterie (which only included meats along with pickled veggies and crostini) and a cheese plate. The tomato soup with basil was delightful and the sausage plate included two sausages along with house made saurkraut. The kale salad was big enough to share and included apple slices and pieces of brie. Service was a bit disjointed...it didn't seem like we got the dishes delivered in a way that we could both enjoy something to eat at the same time and we had to ask for accompaniments and silverware that should have come with the dishes...but the food was good, filling and a nice change of menu items. We'll go back!
Took an hour and half to get our food, I think it must have been an off day. We may give it another try.
We have eaten here on numerous occasions and the food is always delicious. The atmosphere is relaxing and private.
Server seemed eager to get rid of us. Didn’t ask if we wanted appetizers, didn’t ask about refills on drinks, forgot a guests sideorder, asked if we wanted dessert before we even finished main course, and gave us our bill immediately after we said no dessert. Drunk girls in booth ahead of us FaceTiming someone and being extremely loud and rude. Won’t be returning.
The Old Granite Street Eatery was a great experience. Good neighborhood feel with a bit of an upscale feeling. The food was much the same experience, normal America food plused with high quality food, fresh made bread and homemade corned beef. We would go back for sure. One potential issue, the parking is all metered street parking. We were there during lunch rush so parking was a bit hard to find.
I've eaten here 4 or 5 times in the past few years. We had family from out of town and after considering a few places decided on Old Granite Street. We looked at the menu online prior to just to see if there were any new items. Well, we get there for dinner and they have a "limited menu" on Sunday nights. That might be a point you address on your website. We had maybe 5 dishes to choose from. Disappointing to say the least. The guys decided on the burger which I've had before. They both said it was tasty but one of the bottom buns was toasted BLACK!! I urged him to tell our waitress but he said it was fine. If it was my food I would have said something. I got the fish and chips. This is also a dish I've had in the past. They were awful. Soggy, no flavor whatsoever. Water has more flavor than these had. They were so bad. Doesn't anyone take pride in the food they put out anymore? I LOATHE paying my hard earned money for sub par food. The waitress was so distracted. Not sure why as they weren't busy. I have been on their team for years, recommending them when people ask about places to eat in that area. No more!!! I will not be back.
Sunday disappointment. Apparently restaurant runs limited Sunday menu. This was disappointing and the worst food experienced we’ve had here. So avoid on Sunday.
Note to restaurant - either put your best foot forward with your full menu, or close for the day. If you must go half in with limited kitchen staff, add a note to Open Table so dinners can choose whether they want to come by for the half menu day.
Hello wst8s, Our Sundays are referred to as "The Best of" day (speaking of best foot forward). Every week, we look at our top sellers, and after Brunch service, we do a targeted menu with that focus. For 99% of our patrons, it's fun and easy. We consistently have people come in that are also there during the week just to see if their favorite made the menu. So when you say you had the "worst food experience" I'm curious if it was actually the food, or just the limited options/menu?
We knew that the Sunday dinner was serving from a limited menu, but the only 3 entrees available (aside from salads) were fish and chips, hamburger, and spaghetti. The burger and fish came with fries that were greasy and over salty. The rest of the food was OK but not amazing. Certainly not what I recall when I ate there a few years ago, and definitely not worth the high tab. Four people, 1 glass of house wine, 1 appetizer, $100. We walked to Campo down the street for coffee and dessert and wished we had eaten there. Nice atmosphere and decor with a locals vibe; probably a great place for drinks and appetizers, just not dinner.
The food was great, especially considering the price! The service was amazing and timely, and I would definitely go back. The tables are relatively close together, but that’s my only complaint. Would absolutely recommend!
Thank you Nick, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
Having read about this restaurant in the Local food column we found it not to live up to the review, it was very disappointing. Our Granddaughter was visiting us from LA for some holiday togetherness as she has to work on Christmas. She is 25. We all perused the menus of 3 local restaurants and selected this one. When we first arrived and had been seated we were informed by our waitstaff that they were out of at least 1/2 of the menus offerings. The printed menu was without all that we had seen online. It was 45 minutes before we even were served our beverages. Our brunch entrees arrived over an hour after being seated. My husbands was marginally as was our Granddaughters. Mine was unacceptable. The hash browns were burned on the bottom, my eggs were scrambled to a dry blob. I had specifically asked for soft scramble. We won’t be returning.
I'm curious, did you actually voice your dissatisfaction to anyone? a manager? host/hostess? server? I certainly wouldn't want anyone to walk away from our place with your experience and I know if my team was aware they would of done just about anything to make it right. We work very hard to make sure our staff is approachable and responsive. While I see you won't be returning, hopefully you'll take my suggestion to mention your dissatisfaction to someone next time you encounter problems.
Pasta dish is horrible
Fabulous lunch at the Old Granite Street Eatery on Saturday. Indulged in one of their famous burgers. Fresh ingredients, from the roasted tomato & sweet lettuce, sitting on the homemade bun, with delightful ground beef. It was topped off with the crisp to perfection shoestring potatoes. The best burger in town.
We enjoyed our late afternoon snack/dinner at the Granite Street eatery for several reasons. The menu is interesting, they have a good wine and beer list, the location is great, and the service was very good. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back
Food and service fine, but the noise level quickly made it hard to enjoy our meal.
Great Food! Super Nice waiter. Service was slow, but I guess it gave us time to talk and digest our food.
I made a reservation for 6 people for a birthday dinner for 9/28/19. Upon arriving our table was ready, which I appreciated. However, that’s basically the only thing pleasant about our experience. First of all, my friend ordered a gin and tonic. What he was given was a gin and soda water. Even an unseasoned drinker would be able to taste the difference. When he flagged down our waitress and alerted her to the problem, she seemed annoyed and disinterested but took the drink back to the bartender. When she came back, she informed my friend that the bar was out of tonic water, so he and another friend requested a cocktail list, as we had not be given one. The waitress left again, only to come back and tell us that there was no list, the bar only served four cocktails. Not wanting any of the offered drinks, my two friends ordered beers, only to find out the beer they selected was unavailable. During this time, our waitress (tall, blonde, slender) offered no apology , and actually seemed quite annoyed that they pressed the issue. If that wasn’t enough to be off putting, the prices on the menu vs the website are completely different, sometimes by as much as $6 more expensive in the restaurant. When trying to select a restaurant, I was attempting to be sensitive regarding pricing, realizing that not everyone in our party could afford as much as the rest of us. I felt terrible when one person only ordered a bowl of tomato soup (which was little more than marinara sauce) because the prices were so off from the website they could not afford to get anything else. I would not recommend the food, service, bar, or restaurant in general to anyone, and will not be returning.
Good food and good people. Also, wide variety of beers on tap. Menu items were varied and had something for all of us.
Nice, quaint restaurant! Food and service was great!
Wonderful service and very tasty food, highly recommended. Thank you
Been here a few times for brunch. Seems hit or miss on service. Had to ask waitress for things a few times, coffee was cold, food took a while...... Food and cocktails good
What an amazing restaurant. We started with the cheese plate that had great artisanal cheeses, honey, fresh berries, and delicious bread. We paired the cheese with the bacon chips, which are outrageously delicious. The burger was perfection as was the sausage plate. Don't forget to top your meal off with the butterscotch pudding. This is our go-to restaurant when we visit our daughter at UNR; it never disappoints.
Amazing food and amazing service
The restaurant catered to regulars more than new patrons. Had 1 hour for lunch to watch regular patrons receive there entrees 10 minutes after they sat down. While my guest and I waited 45 minutes to be told that 1 order was in the window while the 2nd order, a salad, was waiting to be prepared. Staff didnt care so we didn't either to use what little time of our lunch hour left to accept the orders. We got up and left.
Great place a lot of food nice staff. And the Butterscotch pudding was the best
We brought out of town friends there. They loved the decor and ambiance. The food was good and the servers were friendly. The pace for the meal was perfect. We will definitely dine there again.
Very welcoming, comfortable place. Menu isn't large and they were out of several items, but we had a very nice meal. Very reasonable pricing.
Been here several times and always have a good experience with the food, the bar, and the personnel.
