Old House Pub & Kitchen
With an a la carte menu, bar menu and in the summer months a BBQ menu in the lovely comfortable garden, you are never short of fine foods to accompany your beers, wines and cocktails.
We also have a function room available for private hire and private dining.
2nd time we've come here to eat - again not disappointed - lovely meal and pleasant efficient service.
The best Sunday roast I have had out ever, everything was cooked to perfection and the waitress was lovely
First visit, lovely surroundings, fantastic food and presentation. Lovely service from Leeann the waitress, will definitely return!
Roast was out of this world! Staff were polite, welcoming and had a smile on their faces! Will definitely be returning!
Excellent Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and the service great. Will definitely be going back.
Amazing find! The service was attentive and the food was absolutely excellent.
Edayy, Amazing is a very nice comment and we are glad that you liked it and thank you very much for visiting us. Thanks again and see you soon, OH Restaurant team
Booked a meal on line , table was waiting for us when we arrived , service was excellent ,food was lovely , finished off with a nice coffee ,we couldn't manage a desert due to being too full .Staff were lovely , attentive ,but not overbearing ,and they didn't rush us.
Thank you very much for such a good review and we are delighted that you had a great time. Hope to see you again soon. ( Psst - our Sunday roasts are amazing ;D ) OH Restaurant team,
We came to celebrate my sons birthday and as soon as we arrived the lovely young waitress looked after us so well they were very attentive and looked after our table perfectly with a very happy friendly manner the menu was great something for everyone and when our food was served the same friendly service was given all the meals were wonderful very well presented the food looked great and tasted lovely the chief was very accommodating and we were able to bring a cake which was placed on a nice tired cake stand it made such a lovely evening my son enjoyed his birthday treat as we all did .We are now planning our next visit very soon Sunday lunch or high tea lovely experience can’t wait to come back.
My salmon fingers where burnt and hard to chew and no taste at all,but my partners spaghetti meatballs was very nice..and drinks were nice and staff were friendly and made us enjoy our stay. There was fire alarm stuff explained the procedure to evacuate even though it end up being false alarm
Great food, really nice place, really impressed will defo be back
Enjoyed an impromptu Sunday roast at the Old House.
Friendly service, delicious food, lovely ambience.
Very well cooked food and comfortable seating. Staff were very helpful and quick. The only criticism I have is that the music was a bit noisy which made conversation a little hard.
Very nice food
A surprising gem on Welly Road, upstairs over a pub. I particularly like the round table in the curved balcony looking out over Welly Road.
The food was enjoyable, including the veggie options that two of us had, and the service was both friendly and prompt.
All in all, a pleasant meal
Did wait a while for food and drinks, but when the food did come out it was really lovely.
What a wonderful afternoon tea my sister and I had, we turned up quite early and they saw to us straight away with drinks. It was my sisters birthday and they made it very special for her, with a free glass of Prosecco and decorated her plate with happy birthday messages! Our waiters were two lovely young guys who were very helpful and attentive, food was amazing, would definitely recommend!!
Food was fantastic, bar staff and service was second to none... thanks to Hilary, Tia and diago 👍
We went for afternoon tea to celebrate a birthday and the service was amazing. Even brought out the cakes with a candle and happy birthday written on the plate. Cakes were amazing too and all homemade. Will be going again.
Great quality food (sunday lunch) at a reasonable price
Food wasn't the best, service was okay but good for a casual get to together with friends.
We had a table for 4 booked at 3pm for Sunday lunch. At 2.30 I got a phone call to say that the restaurant had already run out of beef, they’d been very busy apparently. When we arrived we were the only people there !!
We ordered a sharing platter for our starter which was on the menu as baked Camembert, pitta etc, what we actually got was a platter with whitebait, halloumi etc.
The menu was already quite limited , more so without the beef.
We ordered 2 chicken breast and 2 sea trout. We were then told there was only 1 sea trout left. My daughter who’s birthday it was, ended up with her 3rd choice meal.
When my husbands sea trout arrived it was served with a Yorkshire pudding and a jug of gravy. Bizarre!
Throughout there was not one sign of apology or embarrassment at this poor service.
The food itself was actually of a good standard, it’s just a pity we didn’t get any of the food we wanted.
Lovely food very nice staff nice surroundings and wine was good too
We had the afternoon tea. All of it was so tasty, especially the savouries! Two lovely pots of tea aswell! Very filling and good value for money! Service was also very good! Would definitely recommend especially for afternoon tea!
I would not even give this place 1 star but had to rate it to be able to make a review!
Brought a drink and ordered food. Later told there was burgers so ordered another the beef. Then later advised there was no beef either. So nothing all three of us wanted. I was totally annoyed and said we would not have purchased a drink had we been advised there was nothing left on the menu we wanted. Waitress got her manager and she tried to explain they do have burgers but no beef as last two go sold downstairs. She would not refund us the money for our drinks so we left. I was feeling furious and went elsewhere.
I'd booked the table to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
The restaurant was closed and they only had bar food available. There was no indication that this would be the case when we made our booking.
first time of eating here - the front of house was exceptional and knowledgeable
Service great, good atmosphere. Steak was a bit over cooked but flavour and rest of meal made up for it. Would definitely recommend
A stylish, modern gastro-pub with attentive and skilled bar staff, with a good selection of gins and wines. The restaurant is large but in cosy sections upstairs, great service and excellent food. I had the roast beef as part of the Mother's Day menu which was a generous portion and cooked to perfection. 2 courses at just under £20, good value.
Table of 3, starters took 1 hour to arrive followed by another 40 minutes for main course which arrived cold. However server did remove a round of drinks off the bill and also gave desserts free of charge.
Great food. Staff were friendly and attentive as always . Great place to eat. Great window seat looking out.
Great food and service for a quick bite before the cinema.
Due to the time we ate as the only diners it’s not fair to comment negatively to the atmosphere. Very attentive staff and reasonable prices.
Great service, food and drink. Smart place to eat and drink!
Lovely, tasty food, well presented etc, although a very limited choice menu.
Really enjoyed our trip to the Old House. The place itself is immaculate, it has a good menu and the food my wife and I had was excellently presented and tasted wonderful. Service was superb too, a chap called Rhys looked after us impeccably, very attentive yet not at all intrusive. Everyone was friendly and extremely professional. Highly recommended.
Very satisfactory although desert portions very small.
Started with a drink downstairs in the bar then headed upstairs to the restaurant for our meal. Both the bar and restaurant staff were very warm and greeted us nicely. During our meal Rhys and his crew looked after us for all our needs. We will definitely return again soon.
Great food and atmosphere. Reece the waiter was fantastic.
Really good food, however it wasn’t made clear that because we were early we were in between menus. It was like the kitchen was closed but it wasn’t. Bit confusing. Think we were the only diners up there at the time we went. Staff were very accommodating though.
We went as a family of three for Sunday lunch. We were pleasantly surprise to find it was not overcrowded and looked very clean. The staff were very polite and attentive and although the menu is a little limited, I have to say that the roast beef was fabulous. My son had the double beef burger with bacon which he said was one of the best burgers he had eaten in a while. All in all a very pleasant and relaxing experience.
