Olio: A Mediterranean Grille - Sheraton Toronto Airport
Dining at Olio is an intimate yet vibrant experience with exquisite food and personable service delivered with flair. The dining room has a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere perfect for any gourmet experience. A menu reflecting cuisine from Mediterranean regions and fresh local ingredients.
I didn’t have an experience because the restaurant was closed. This horrible that no buddy called me to verify and I even confirmed my reservation.
This was an anniversary
This is a great place to have a enjoyable meal. We had drinks and appetizers in one area (lounge) so that we could relax and socialize before adjourning to the dinner table. Our servers were excellent and very accommodating. Service was prompt and delivered professionally. The food was delicious and very satisfying. Will definitely continue dining at Olio!
Met up with friends from Florida who were meeting another guest at the airport. Location was perfect. The service and the food were both excellent. Reasonable pricing and we were not rushed during our 3 hour lunch .
Stood at front desk for 15 mins and we're then informed by 3 people that the kitchen closed in 45 mins. Got a glass of wine and waited another 20 mins and told again we didn't have much time. We decided to leave as they obviously didn't need or want the business
This was my first time going there and I was totally amazed, it was for our monthly ladies get together and it was perfect.
The food was amazing, we were trying each others meals and none of us were disappointed.
The service was fantastic and the ambiance peaceful.
Yes I would tell anyone about this place and yes I will be returning.
Thank you!
Our reservation was for 6.15pm but we were early and relaxed with drinks and appetizers in the lounge area. No one rushed us to our table which gave us time to enjoy the ambience as well as relax after a busy day. The service provided was excellent and the food was delicious. The spaghetti Bolognese was excellent as were the other dishes that we ordered. All in all, a restaurant I would definitely visit again.
I had a wonderful time. Good and service was great
I came up to Toronto with two of my employees on their first business trip ever. We were in meetings all day and then had to fight traffic in the rain to find the place. I was so happy to see the restaurant had a very relaxing, bright and comfortable atmosphere. Too bad the service was ho hum...our waitress was very low energy. We were never given refills on our water. She delivered our food and walked away. We were never asked if we needed anything else. A table of 8 people came in and we were forgotten. It was almost if we had to flag her down to get any service. ugh....normally, I wouldn't care and get it that you can't control the service necessarily. People vary, but the food was just... okay. nothing to write home about.
Great food
We waited more than 15 minutes for a drink order. I ordered a pasta with shrimp and did not receive the shrimp. Food was good but the service was less than stellar especially considering that the restaurant was not that busy.
Great steaks and excellent olive tapas. Loved the crab cakes as well!
We sat in the lounge because there were some large groups in the dining area and it was quite noisy .
The food was delicious , the service was great and very friendly .
Thanks for the great time to all staff
I would absolutely not recommend Olio. Everything was a disappointment from the ambiance to the staff and especially the food. This was a special occasion for myself and my fiancé, as we were celebrating the upcoming birth of out first child and this was our last little get away. I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor and I was impressed and based on these reviews I booked this restaurant.
When we arrived the hostess had no idea what we were speaking about when I said we had made reservations, either way we were seated as the restaurant was completely empty on a Saturday night.
I ordered the sausage filled ravioli, it tasted like a pepperoni pizza. It was horrible. My fiancé had ordered the steak, it was hard as cardboard. It came with mash potatoes that tasted like they were from a box and the vegetables were bland.
This was by far the worst food experience I have ever had at a restaurant. We went back to our hotel and had to order in for dinner.
Extremely disappointed

Very courteous and friendly service. Great place for lunch or dinner.
We chose the location based on geography. Six of us were meeting for Summerlicious dinner and this location is conveniently close to highways. The food was phenomenal. We all had different items and revelled in the beauty (and taste) of each dish. Considering the restaurant wasn't that busy we would have benefited from a little more attention from our server. Not bad service, but just the bare minimum. Would go back.
I enjoyed my lunch at Olio. Parking was a bit of an issue, so we were late for our reservation, but the staff was understanding and flexible. The decor seemed a little dated, but we liked that the tables were spaced far enough apart to be able to have our own conversation without overhearing those around us. The food was the star of the show. Salads were crisp with the right amount of dressing. The pasta was excellent, cooked perfectly with a wonderful creamy sauce. The portion sizes were good, not so much that you felt over stuffed. The tart was good, but we both felt it needed more filling as the lovely strawberry rhubarb flavour was lost under the cream topping. Service was well timed. Overall an enjoyable meal.
Usually I am not much for hotel restaurants but this is not like any other. This was the second time we went here during summerlicious but we will likely go back even after it is over.
Delicious food! Went for the summerlicious event, and had a great experience.
The restaurant was very quiet - no guests. Also could not locate the reservation, although that was not a problem given the lack of customers this Friday evening. Food was good and service fine.
There had been a lot of noise from a pool table area located nearby this was not evident on the current occasion.
The food was very good. A party of four people and we all thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. We were there for a holiday lunch, and were all pleasantly surprised with the food quality. However, the service was terrible. Two servers were confused about who was handling our table. They didn't approach us or take our order (or even give us menu's) until we had already been sitting for 10 minutes. The lady who ended up helping us never asked about how our lunch was, and then disappeared when we were finished so we had to wait for another 10 minutes until we got our bill. Overall it was good, but the service was so disorganized, impolite, and unprofessional that it added to the time we were there and also negatively impacted our experience.
My wife's meal was fine. I had the prime rib which was flavorful but the consistency was strange. Overall, it was ok but I was expecting more based on the reviews I had seen.
Food was fair. The spaghetti was bad as the sauce was too watery.
Relaxing and spacious environment to enjoy a tasty meal.
I believe we were blessed with the waiter that was previously reviewed as speaking to fast. This individual did indeed speak swiftly but was very easy to understand and his personality was a delight around the table. The menu selection was not overdone and maintained the Mediterranean theme which was the reason we had chosen to dine here. The selections were authentic and inspired. The dining area is open but well-appointed with fixtures and features to soften the noise of surrounding tables and allows for an evening of quiet conversation without seclusion. Overall Olio is a gem of a find and is a great change from the chain steak houses that populate the Dixon Road area.
Breakfast Buffet has a good variety and a short order cook to cook eggs to request. Very nice. Free parking as well (for 2 hours).
Our group found our waiter to be very impatient and at times, rude. waiter was very impatient, and at times, rude. The restaurant had a low occupancy yet he was in clearly in a rush with us when he spoke. We had an elderly woman in our group ask what kind of white wine they had. He listed types of wine so quickly that she needed to ask him to repeat. He went thru it again, at the same fast pace, this time 'arm gestures' suggesting we were too slow in understanding him ending with 'what do you want?!'. When it came to the soup of the day, again he said the ingredients so quickly none of us understood. We all needed him to repeat as it was said too quick & his accent was thick. He sharply repeated with an obvious sound and look of annoyance.
The server took an hour to take our order (it was not busy when we arrived). There were two other servers working who were very attentive. We had to flag ours down, she never offered refilled the pop only the liquor. Water was never replenished unless asked, On two occassion tried to take an unfinished plate away, the individual had to move her plate across the table each time.
The food was mostly bland and store bought. The appetizers were boring, Vegitarian option was bland with no flavour and advertised cheese was non-existent. Their steak was cooked perfectly and the dish itself was great. Dessert was an apple blossum which was store bought so it was okay. The chocolate tart was delicious. Overall dissapointing experience for us!
decent food and setting. not very busy when we arrived so it wasn't very loud, the service was good took a little while a couple times which didn't make sense cause the place was sort of empty, but overall good experience.
Had a wonderful time for lunch for Winterliscious 2014. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts were exquisite. Definitely recommend others to give this place a try. I'll be planning another lunch and dinner in the near future in this wonderful restaurant.
The tables at the restaurant were well spaced, not crowded together.
The electric fireplace added ambiance to the place.
There were 6 of us and we were not crowded at our table.
Everyone enjoyed the calamari appetizer. Our winterlicious menu did not disappoint.
We all agreed that the paella was very tasty with lots of seafood, including jumbo shrimps. The serving size was very generous.
The steak was also very good.
Seating was fast, server came right away.. Ordered our food and drink. Once our bread and iced tea were empty no one came around again to check. Had to ask twice. I ordered the steak and it was fatty not really very good.
Once meal was finished I went to pay by debit and they dont take it, instead they ask you to use an ATM that they make money on. Winterlicious is sponsored by InterAc so its rather sad.
Would not go back again
Also when we arrived another couple ahead wanted a table but was told it was busy and to come back in 30 mins. We checked online and tables were available in 15. They should have checked instead of sending them away. Poor service again and lazy
In a city and area where bad service wont last this place was at a loss. We walked in and were not greeted, (well the bartender said sit where you like) and they had no record of the reservation. There was one bartender and one waitress for 30 tables but there were only 5 tables. The menu looked fine but I doubt that it was any good. So we left
Food was great and the service was outstanding. The ambience is too much like a typical hotel restaurant. We did not go to the bar area but it looked inviting. I would have been more than pleased about everything had we been staying at the hotel. Since it was a destination dinner for us, the ambience was lacking.
The food and service were good; the location was ideal for our dinner. Super easy to find on the hotel strip outside Pearson Insternational (YYZ) it was just off Hwy 27. The weather was dismal, so the restaurant was almost empty, but we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The service was attentive enough that we never had to look for anything, but left us to our reunion for the 3 hours we were there. Great meetup spot.
It was Christmas Day, so to be fair, perhaps the restaurant was understaffed. But, after moving to the Sheraton courtesy of the Toronto Ice Storm 2013, I was extremely disappointed that I couldn't have a real Christmas meal! I expected much more from a Sheraton hotel.
We enjoyed both brunch and dinner; each course of the dinner was exceptional; and the service was outstanding. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant. We will be back.
I had a business breakfast here and it went well.
We chose Olio because of the positive reviews we read here. In fact 4.5 stars made us think we wouldn't find a table. But we went on a Sunday evening the last day of Summerlicious and those two things may have made the difference. The food was good. Some dishes were above family restaurant fare but not by much. Olio gets 3 stars from us .
I had no idea food could be this good even the kids menu was great.....thank you for a wonderful dinning experience and sorry about our temperamental toddler. The staff were great sports about it though.
If it was not for 2013 summerlicious, I did not know that this place existed. Definitly will go back.
