Service great, no pressure to rush, super friendly and accommodating!
Our server was wonderful. Professional and friendly!
Venue is very noisy. Difficult to have a conversation. Ceilings are high and there is no carpeting to block the sound.
Everything was excellent, no complaints.
The server was very friendly and cheerful. Food is good too.
We celebrated a birthday for a special cousin and had a delightful server who catered to our needs. They brought a nicely presented dessert with a candle in it on a large plate with Happy Birthday written across the plate in chocolate syrup. We enjoyed our meals. The mushroom soup was served hot, and was delicious, although a bit salty. The sweet potato fries were very tasty. The club sandwich was also excellent, was very substantial and it came with a side salad. The coffee was served hot and had a very nice full bodied taste. The restaurant was a bit loud in the beginning, but of course as the crowd thinned out the noise level was perfect. Overall, we had a very pleasant lunch and will return again.
My server was very attentive and personable, the food was absolutely delicious ( we had the fried calamari, mushroom soup, mushroom wood oven baked pizza & the mac n cheese). The food was great but i was just blown away by the service mostly. Great experience overall
It is a nice restaurant to have a business lunch or family brunch/lunch although it is on the pricier side.
Pleasant location for Sunday lunch although the back ground noise made it difficult to talk ... place could do with a few noise remediation techniques.
Food was great and service excellent but really terrible noisy environment made co versation nearly impossible! Need to install some acoustic baffles to absorb noise!
Today's meal was so so. The mushroom soup was saltier than usual, the mixed green salad had no dressing on it. The pickled vegetables on the salad were so sour that I had to pick them off. My friend's Pad Thai was also too salty and sour. The server never told us about the specials. The server for the table next to us told the diners about the specials and that's when we found out there were specials. All in all, it was not the best meal I've ever had at this restaurant.
I went to dinner on a Monday night. So it was nice and quiet. The waiter was over-the-top enthusiastic in his role. The fish with chickpeas was delicious. The mixed green salad's dressing was too tart and lettuce pieces too big. The waiter returned the salad to the kitchen and brought me a new one. I mixed the salad myself with oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, and cut up the lettuce into smaller pieces. Then the salad was perfect because I fixed it up. I wish the kitchen staff would cut up the salad into smaller pieces. Customer should be given a choice of dressing.
Appreciated being allocated a more quiet side table - great experience thanks.
Service was superb. Wait staff went out of their way to accommodate table change and celebrate special occasion. Unfortunately the food was dry and only lukewarm.
Excellent customer service. Tasty food
Our most recent visit was enjoyable. It was a Friday evening, so the noise level was a little high. We were able to converse at our table, but it was challenging to hear each other at some moments. Our server was excellent, and did a great job of informing us of any available specials, and answered all of our questions well.
I would only recommend this O & B café to those who didn't mind a lot of noise & who didn't want a conversation with their tablemates.
Once again I truly enjoyed my visit- I come few times a year for a special treat but I am not a regular guest. As an occasional and really easy going guest- I noticed that the menu is rather basic in its' descriptions. Specifically- I looked on line to get an idea of choices ahead of time- and truthfully- based on the descriptions- I did not feel enticed to come in and try the experience. Having been in your restaurant and familiar with the value, food quality and attentive service- I still came in because I know I would not be disappointed.
I hope this helps in some way. Perhaps this is the way of the world now - but I thought slightly more descriptive and inviting wording would be more effective in attracting new guests- as opposed to clinical menu that reads like an ingredient shopping list)...
Our server Eva was very attentive, polite and professional.
I attended O&B for a business lunch with an industry colleague. The service was prompt, the menu was diverse, and the quality of food was excellent. The wine list is extensive. Although our table was reasonably close to another, it was still possible to have a productive business conversation without either disrupting others or being overheard. Overall, this was a very positive experience and I will definitely return.
As always, really good food and service. Just lacking a little ambiance and noise levels made it difficult to hear ourselves at times.
Food was average and the restaurant was very noisy
Good wait staff (incredibly courteous) and really added the extra bit of detail to my birthday brunch. Thank you!
Overall a good experience! I went on a Friday evening with two of my girlfriends and we stayed talking for hours. The servers were nice and attentive.
Doesn't stand out when compared to other places at that price point but still would recommend you give it a try.
This was our first time visiting this restaurant in a few years. We suggested it to our friends for a birthday lunch celebration.
We have dined at many of the Oliver and Bonacini restaurants over the years including this one many many times. How disappointing it was today. Our reservation was for 12:30. Firstly our friend ordered the Rueben sandwich and was told it was sold out. Secondly I ordered a Caesar salad half-order as suggested by the server. Regular was $12.00 and a small cup which was deemed a half order was $7.50. Shame. I specifically ordered Mac and cheese. It was loaded with breadcrumbs atop and was totally dried out. Shame. The server came with a muffin and Happy Birthday for our celebration. Embarrassing !!!!
Very disappointing experience.
After many years of seeing ads of this place, I've finally decided to give it a try even though most people I know have rated it below average. And they were right, I didnt miss out. The first thing I've noticed as I was being seated was the decor being mediocre. This was location is very family oriented with seniors everywhere. Nothing wrong with that but the restaurant didnt have that intimate feel that I thought it would.
The food took quite some time before arriving. I had ordered white wine and I was half done (slowly sipping) before the waitress even remembered the complimentary bread. I usually never touch the bread so this didnt really matter. However , the waitress brought over the bread saying she's "terribly sorry for the delay since they're really "backed-up" so here's some complimentary bread". The restaurant was not busy at all! There is no excuse as to why there should be a big delay. I am not expecting my food in 5minutes but i dont expect to wait over 30mins either. Also, the menu selection was very limited and average. Ended with a burger from the special summer menu, fish and chips and alaskan sole. Nothing really jumped out. The burger was ok. Fish and chips batter was a little too right-lack of crunch. Alaskan sole was the biggest disappointment- looks like it's been frozen for a long while. It was mushy inside and all I tasted was butter. I cannot taste anything but pure butter. (I'm not here to eat a butter stick) By the way, the side vegetables were also very greasy. So overall, I'd pass on this one. I only came here because the other restaurant was full and didnt want to wait another 45mins. Plus I've never had o&b so why not, which I now regret.
Great. Always a nice place for a great lunch.
I have dined here many times and this particular time was craving the grilled calamari. I was telling my friend how good it was so we ordered the dinner portion to share along with other appetizers. When we received it, it tasted very different from other times, it was almost poached like, aside from grilled. it was very bland and a little fishy so we requested some balsamic and hot sauce. We were asked why and we explained so the nice lady that questioned it (not our waiter for the evening) apologized and said she would order us another one and ensure it's grilled properly. We were very appreciative and graciously accepted. Unfortunately, upon receipt of the second piece of calamari, it was grilled a little more but extremely unseasoned and rubbery (likely due to the fact it was grilled longer). We couldn't eat that one either so we were quite disappointed, especially since this was the particular dish we were craving :) -- in any event, the cauliflower bites were dynamite and the bottle of chianti was too.
Perhaps the grilling technique for the calamari should be tweaked somehow.
We had a great dining experience! Thanks to the staff for making us feel welcome. It was my daughters' 13th birthday and they really went above and beyond to make her feel special. Happy she chose O&B for her family celebration!
Great night! It was my mother’s birthday and our server made her feel really special.
It’s always a pleasure to dine here! The food was incredible, the service quick and concise. Looking forward to going back again very soon.
Great food and service.
Live nearby but only have had brunch here so far. Had dinner here with my wife and son and daughter in law. It was quite noisy to start with but quietened down as people left. Our server was truly outstanding, she was charming, attentive and efficient at all times even though very busy. The food was excellent as was the (somewhat limited) selection of beers. Good value sale on some good wines. A very good, memorable meal. My only improvement would be to introduce some shorts such as grappa, limoncello or calvados.
But with reservations! If you are quite deaf (I am but have 2hearing aids) the noise level where we were sitting was such that I had trouble hearing our conversation (while clearly hearing the man 2 tables away!)
Oliver & Bonacini is a usual go-to, with a very wide variety on the menu.
This particular time it seemed way overpriced and very poor service, and nothing offered to make up for it.
Will reconsider another visit, if at all, but suppose we should have informed management as well.
A bit loud but food was good. Can’t go wrong eating at O & B
Perhaps for lunch only. Not for dinner
It’s very quiet for evening. No music playing
Fryer was on the fritz which eliminated many food choices - hard to fathom. Disappointed with that but while not our 1st choices of food, O & B food is always good.
Business lunch as stated in original reservation but seated near two tables with families with young children . One was already there and the other seated 5 minutes after us -- other sections were available. A bit annoying but no biggie.
Pleasant atmosphere and attentive service. The meal was well done. I only took one star off (half not an option) because the Salmon Tartar appetizer was a little grisly on the salmon. I'm sure they would have taken back if I asked but I will with a group and didn't want to stand out.
