Our fish and shellfish dishes are the most popular in Birmingham, as we buy from the harbour markets each morning, ensuring the freshest possible fish.
Our entire a la carte menu is available at a set price for 2 courses and 3 courses: the choice is yours! We are located in the heart of Birmingham city centre’s Colmore Business District. The décor is chic, but warm and inviting, with natural light which streams in from the glass frontage.

This is a fabulous restaurant with all aspects being superb. Fanstatic service, amazing food. If you haven't been, you need to go.
We went to Opus for dinner celebrate our daughter’s graduation. The restaurant was cosy, albeit the acoustics was not terribly good. The table near us was talking really loudly and the noise level was high. Nonetheless, the food was delicious, very well prepped. I had the lobster and we had the oysters as well.
The attendant was very professional.
Excellent food - fantastic service, the only issue is the feel of the restaurant it lacks warmth ( wasn't cold its the decor) - the restaurant is better when it's full as are most but this doesn't detract from the quality of the food or service which is outstanding
I was treated to lunch last Sunday. Delicious !! Everything was very tasty and well presented with ample portions.
The service was excellent. all the staff, without exception were very friendly and efficient.
I have eaten there before in the evening but their Sunday lunch meal ticks all the boxes too !!
Well done, Opus and thank you.
My wife and I decided to have a weekend in Birmingham staying at the Hotel du Vin. We fancied a change of restaurant for one of the nights and I'm so pleased we chose Opus in Cornwall Street. We were greeted by friendly and attentive staff in a really great looking contemporary setting. The food and service were excellent and it was one of those memorable occasions that stay with you. The monkfish was superb and the whole experience was great.
Picked for lunch during a day visit using Great Escape rail roving tickets. Mainly business clients dining. A pleasant welcome with friendly Maitre D but waiting staff less user friendly. Food fair to middling but let down by the lamb main course - very fatty small chops not the lamb cut expected from the menu description! A desert and coffee required to counter the fatty chops.
Not our greatest dining experience.
Enjoyable evening with knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff. We felt the décor was a bit harsh, but the food was unusual and well-presented. The market menu is very good value.
The restaurant was surprisingly quiet for a Thursday lunch-time, but as we were there on business that suited our purposes. The food was very good, the service was attentive yet not intrusive and the overall bill was good value (albeit I am used to London prices). I would certainly return here and would happily recommend to anybody in the area.
We really enjoyed our Saturday evening at Opus Restaurant. The atmosphere was good and the service and food were excellent. An added benefit was the wine at 50% during January.
Would go again if in Birmingham and will recommend to others.
I booked Opus as a special evening for my husband's 50th. I thought it was the perfect choice despite being disappointed that he didn't receive the special 50th birthday piping on his plate as booked the day before.
Seems trivial and it probably is given that he didn't know it was meant to be there, but I asked about it and it was offered, so a little disappointed.
Other than that, I would definitely book it again. The service from the waiting staff in particular was outstanding.
A good overall experience. Food is excellent and service is pleasant and obliging. We went for my birthday and we were not rushed even though we took several hours over our meal. Lovely..We shall come again
Faultless food, good choice from seasonal produce however the rather surly 'welcome' wasn't expected, not sure whether the lady was a temporary hire?
A fine venue for lunch with excellent fish choices. Handy for city centre.
Apart from British wines this restaurant had everything we could ask for. The food was excellent both in presentation and in taste. The staff was knowledgeable and came with good suggestions.
We will absolutely book ourselves in newt time we are in Birmingham.
The quality of the service and the charm of the staff were the things that stood out but the meal was very good value - especially good, fresh and very local vegetables.
The restaurant was absolutely fine, a good meal and not the standard fare but rather pricey so that I doubt we'd return.
One of the best in town! You must try here.
Excellent cuisine would recommend this for the discerning diner. Food and service were excellent. It is priced as you'd expect for this level of restaurant and the a la carte menu is not for those wanting value and still expecting good quality food. However, there are offers of 2 & 3 courses that would still meet the needs of such diners with a slightly reduced menu.
However, this is an excellent restaurant and a welcome addition to Birmingham. I will certainly return many times. Loved it.
Went for a special family meal on a Saturday evening. Everything went smoothly thanks to the polished service and tasty food.
On arrival booking was unknown but later found. Dinner was very good.
Excellent food cooked to perfection and wonderfully tasty!
We had not been to Opus before but were recommended to go by my son. Apparently, there is a good meal deal Mon - Fri evening & Saturday 6pm-7pm with competitively priced one, two or three courses. We chose from the a la carte menu. I had haddock fishcake with quail's egg on top. Delicious. The others in my party had the scollops with pork belly, equally scrumptious! Between us we had a lamb dish, duck & John Dory. All the dishes were beautifully cooked, flavoursome & well presented. Desserts were good too. The wine list is reasonably extensive & reasonably priced. All the staff wery very friendly & attentive. The head waiter was particularly helpful too & knowledgeable about the wines. Would definitely recommend and go back again.
Not bad....not fantastic. Came from London for the day...could have waited to get back to London for the meal...
The restaurant was booked for my dads 60th birthday and they accommodated all our preferences (round table and champagne at the table). The service was brilliant and very attentive, but not intrusive on the occasion.
All meals were excellent and cooked to perfection- the fillet of beef was very tasty. The lamb was gorgeous and the monk fish was succulent. It was a nice touch bringing petit fours on a birthday plate for my dad at the end if the meal.
If you appreciate quality ingredients in an intimate environment don't hesitate book this restaurant. One of the best in Brum
On a recent trip to Birmingham to see the Pet Shop Boys in the Arena myself and my significant other decided to make a whole weekend of it.
I had searched for somewhere nice for lunch and found Opus, it looked good, and was very reasonable . It didn't disappoint. When we arrived we were greeted very warmly and shown to our table. We ordered a bottle of wine and perused the very short Market Menu . We both opted for the Pork Terrine which with the homemade rolls was delicious, We then ordered the Cod and Calves liver both outstanding dishes, dessert was heaven on a plate and coffee and tea to follow. This was Outstanding value at £16 even with the huge gap between the euro and sterling. Highly recommended
The restaurant was booked for our 26 wedding anniversary, when we arrived we were told we had no booking as the restaurant was booked for a private function, the staff we spoke to were abrupt and matter of fact about the situation. The most they could do was to try and phone around and try to find us a table at an alternative restaurant. We did not take up the offer and left. A very very disapointing experience.
I dined here with two girlfriends to celebrate a birthday and engagement. We ordered from the Market Menu which was incredibly good value and meant we could afford to add in a few extra treats.
The service was exceptional, the greeting warm and friendly, the wine recommendation was excellent and most importantly the food was delicious. I highly recommend the Apricot Sorbet!
A must go to resturant food and service is outstanding great experience. Wine a little expensive but most resturants are these days.
Food was wonderful. Service was excellent. The only thing lacking was the atmosphere - that said this would be the perfect venue for a business meal.
Restaurant s beautifully presented with a sophisticated feel. We chose the set menu at £16 for 3 courses which is good value for nice quality food.
Although we did both order the Lamb to be told it wasn't available, my only criticism would be that we should have been informed as we were handed the menu as we had sat and considered our choice for about 10 minutes.
The restaurant was very quiet and felt rather empty therefore it was lacking in ambience and atmosphere.
Overall we would visit again but maybe try at lunchtime.
Nice food, good service and value....particularly with the toptable deal.
It's a pretty decent restaurant with a couple of nice fish options, a good cheese board and a decent wine list.
A decent sized steak would be a good addition to the menu.
This is the place for a night out, a special occasion or a very nice meal. Modern setting, splendid sevice, excellent wine to compliment a menu designed to be enjoyed. One of Brum's best.
A gem of a restaurant, in a city spoilt with them. service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive, nice spacious tables, great menu with good food providence. Also a mention to the wine list. The wine we had was really lovely, and we have been looking for it ever since.
Let me start by saying that the food was delicious, that was when it finally arrived it took 45 minutes from ordering to have the food in front of us. When we inquired as to when the food when would arrive, we received a sharp retort that the medium- well steaks take longer to cook. I understand there was 8 in our group, but considering only 2 had medium-well steaks it still a long time. Portion size was decent, but a main alone would not fill you up. We felt a little isolated from the rest of the restaurant as our table was situated near the door. Final point is the fact we had to ask for the bill twice before we got it 15 minutes after we originally asked for it. Overall enjoyable experience, a few tweaks and it would of been even better
Market Menu for lunch is good.
Music and accuracy of bill not so. ***
Another excellent meal at Opus. The market menu has to be the best value around and is always good. The food is well presented and although the choice is limited they are always prepared to offer an alternative. The restaurant itself could be described as being somewhat stark but this time there were more people so my impression changed. The staff seem to change frequently but it does not seem to have a negative effect.
Great food and restaurant. Eaten here before and it never disappoints!! Shame they got the bill wrong and the waiter was quite rude and blamed us for it until the manager came and sorted. Overall great though
The food is great from the market menu which two of us tried although
The other order from the main menu seemed expensive
