Great experience, warm and welcoming yet sophisticated and high end. Best ateak I have in Toronto in ages. Highly recommend.
Bob was our server. He is a great man. that's all I have to say
My favourite restaurant in the city, which never disappoints! The service the food the ambiance is first class. Thanks again Mario and Bob for making our evening very special.
We had a great experience at Opus. The staff were attentive and friendly from the moment we stepped through the door. We had a 6:30 booking on a Saturday evening and although as expected at that time there weren't too many diners, it soon became pretty busy.
The wine list is staggering. Our server told us that Opus has the largest selection of wine of any restaurant in Canada with approximately 55,000 bottles and 2,800 different types/vintages.
The bread that was served was very fresh. The appetizers were very good as were the mains. I didn't feel the need to order any sides as the portion size was perfect for me.
The ambience was relaxing and they made nice use of the lighting which was dimmed.
I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a higher end restaurant for a special occasion or for entertaining a business client as it is situated in a central location in Toronto. It is also very near to St.George subway station on Line 2 which is only 2 stops west of Yonge Bloor.
Once upon a time Opus was our go-to romantic restaurant while visiting Toronto. Unfortunately they have elected to arrange too many tables in their small dining room and with that the noise level is uncomfortable. The lack of privacy for a nice dining occasion is lost.
Great food, very nice service, the best wine list I ever saw, great place for a wonderful evening!
This was a disappointment. The vegetarian pasta was underwhelming and was the only option, despite having been assured to the contrary in a prior phone call. Quite noisy due to an adjacent large group of business types. Its a small but pretty room. Service was good. The advertised valet parking was non existant.
We had a late dinner reservations or our anniversary and they accommodated us with great service. We did not feel rushed and we thoroughly enjoyed their food. Fantastic wine list. Thank you!
A regular place where the family goes for delicious food. Best Foie Gras in the city!
The Opus dining experience, top to bottom, was incredible. For foodies, Opus should be at the top of your short list. For wine lovers, Opus should be at the top of your short list. For those who enjoy a beautiful evening out, one that feels both eventful and intimate, Opus should definitely be at the top of your short list. Enjoy-
From the moment we sat down, we had excellent service. The food was amazing and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
We got our table 25 minutes past our reservation time, and no compensation offered. The noise level was unbearable. The food was good, but not fantastic and over priced. The service by the waiters was very good.
FABULOUS as always !! This place never disappoints
Overpriced. Miniscule portions. Meat not prepared as ordered.
Great wine list, unfortunately the food doesn’t match in quality
I've been coming to Opus for almost thirty (30) years. Mario greets you and acts like you're a long lost brother...extremely nice. The entire experience is always wonderful for all guests I've brought. It makes me feel wonderful that I've recommended the restaurant to so many people for so many years! Best of everything for the restaurant to carry on for another thirty(30) years or more. I visited first from the Syracuse, Rochester, NY area and I currently live in West Bloomfield, MI. USA. since January, 1997.
The stars speak for themselves! Absolutely wonderful. The wine list is large, however they will help you find just the right wine for your meal in your preferred price range. Then sit back and enjoy.
It is a lovely elegant restaurant with a menu replete with great food choices and a wine list which is beyond me. Happily, they are very helpful with respect to wine choices, no up selling, all delicious.
As always, excellent! A regular favourite restaurant of ours to go to whenever we get to the Yorkville area.
Restaurant was not busy and we were treated like Royalty .
What a pleasure it was to dine there !
Excellent service and the meal was superb!
I eat here a lot and generally consider Opus the best restaurant in town, so must’ve caught them on an off-night. The rabbit appetizer that was great in the past was bland and under-seasoned. The Fogo-island cod was wet and sloppy, also lacking flavour and spice; very disappointing. Seared foie gras and maple apples was delicious. Service seemed rushed and distracted, as much attention from staff and management was being heaped on a nearby table with VIPs. Restaurant was noisier than I’ve ever witnessed for some reason, partly due to the patron who took it upon himself to stand up and sing a song. Not kidding. Weird off-night for a traditionally excellent place.
What a beautiful evening. My wife and I went there for our wedding anniversary and we were totally satisfied with our experience. Fantastic food and exceptional service.
amazing Birthday dinner, world class experience.
From the moment we walked into the restaurant till the moment we left we felt very very special. The staff was phenomenal, and the food was exceptional. This is a great place to come for a special occasion or a date or just because. We will definitely be back.
We enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends and with the help of a well experienced sommellier drank some very tatsy wines which paired well with our meals.
Opus is one of our go-to favourites in Toronto for fine dining. Never disappointed here!
Dined here a few times, always enjoy the food, service and ambiance. This last time, I had the pleasure of trying the Elk ribeye...probably the best game I have ever eaten anywhere in the world...and I love most game dishes.
Wine list is a virtual phonebook, and there are some doozies on it for sure! Still, I was able to find a number of good values within the Australian and bordeau listings...so don’t be intimidated...jump right in and I am sure you will find something you like that agrees with your budget.
Highly enjoyable evening!
One of the best meals I have had in Toronto. One of the only true fine dining restaurants left in Toronto.
Simply one of the finest restaurants Toronto has to offer, year after year after year. Had yet another great meal. On this night we had the rabbit appetizer, bison steak special, and Fogo Island cod. All were excellent, with the rabbit appetizer a real winner. Never skip dessert at Opus, as it’s always ridiculously good. They make the ice cream in-house so always get that in addition to whatever other dessert you order. Even the bread here, also made in-house, is awesome. Thumbs way up. It is expensive so be forewarned.
This is a high-level restaurant - the food is very good and the service great.
Excellent restaurant. Food was fabulous and interesting and it was quiet enough to talk. Service was good. five stars.
Brought a lovely birthday treat.
Delightful from valet parking attendant to to food and beverages served to servers themselves. The experience started a fantastic evening of Jazz at Koerner Hall perfectly.
Best wine cellar in North America ...
The owners and wait staff
Truly and honestly make you feel like family... a experience unlike any I’ve had in any restaurant .
We dined at Opus for my wife's birthday. The food and service were impeccable. The menu offered a variety of dishes, all with a unique twist. The location on Prince Arthur Ave. made it an easy walk from the St. George Subway. The noise level was very low, ideal for conversation. The decor was bland, but that was our only criticism.
We had a very nice meal and it was good value. The wine is a little pricey (they boast a large wine menu but most of it is unaffordable for mere mortals).
Opus remains a spectacular restaurant with delicious food. But the service was not good. The waiter brought tuna instead of beef for a guest after a long conversation about how the steak should be cooked. But more frustrating was the attitude from the Somalier and the constant hovering when we were having a conversation and when we actually needed to order there was no one. We had a great dinner but we were all confused by the poor service.
As of this moment, it is the best meal I have enjoyed in Toronto since moving here three years ago
Food and service was good. Cod was a bit driend but other food was great.
