The award winning restaurant has a warm and inviting ambience with views over the terrace and countryside beyond. Our chefs have created wonderful menus with the finest local meats, freshly caught Brixham fish and vegetable produce, some of which has been grown in the hotel gardens.
Renowned for our relaxed, efficient and yet unobtrusive service, we are very proud of our 5/5 rating on Tripadvisor and 2 AA rosettes for dining.
The setting is fantastic beautiful building good decor and fantastic food and service
I will definitely when I am back in Devon I will be there for dinner
I would recommend that whoever like steak should try the fillet steak is one of the best I ever had
We really enjoyed our experience. The food was delicious and the staff were very friendly.
We chose this place through Tripadvisor as it was on the way to Torquay. It was raining and so we needed somewhere to enjoy a lunch where we could park no problem. The food was lovely especially the pistacio Franzipan tart with Raspberry sorbet. I chose fresh hake which was excellent and my husband chicken. The service was lovely. I would highly recommend it.
Really nice place, good food but it took a bit too long to take our order
Our fifth visit in the last twelve months is evidence of our fondness for this delightful family-run establishment.
Lunch on the tranquil sun-kissed terrace passed blissfully. The delicious risottos and a classic Eggs Benedict set us up for the outrageously yummy Orestone Mess.
Yes, we’ll be back again soon.
This was a return trip to Orestone Manor. A casual / smart ambience, attentive waiters, and excellent food makes dinner a thoroughly pleasant experience.
This is fine dining with a friendly, family feel. We thoroughly enjoyed our celebratory meal, from our drinks in the bar, through to coffee in the lounge afterwards. The venison was beautifully prepared; the starters and desserts complementing very well. We hope to be back for more.
This was not our first visit, so we were disappointed on this occasion. Whilst the waiting staff took account of food intolerances when taking our order, the kitchen made a number of small mistakes which, had the intolerances been full-blown allergies, could have caused problems. Both the steak and the venison we found to be on the tough side and not of the quality that we would expect from Orestone Manor.
Your Feedback is welcome. I Apologise, a Chocolate stick decorating your Sorbet due to a communication error. We have reviewed our system to prevent further problems. We only serve Fillet steak the most tender cut to ensure best results Please let us know if on the rare occasion it is not quite as good. we would change it for you. Venison, our menu recommends served pink. On request we cook it on but while acceptable it will not be the same texture as cooked pink. We hope you will return again.
Orestone Manor failed to mention they were closed on their open table page and when they phoned to tell me they were, in fact, closed they were not particularly apologetic. In addition, the didn't seem to change their settings on the online booking sites so more people are likely to be let down in a similar manner. Their food might be nice but I shan't try to book again for fear of being let down last-minute in a similar manner.
This was the first day of being closed. closing open table was on our list. we were monitoring so we did call you back within a few minutes of your booking to minimise any inconvenience. We did apologise to you. We did shut down process that day but being our first time we got it wrong but no other person had tried to book as we were monitoring our e mails as well. Your review score seems a little extreme. where you would go with a score if you actually had a poor experience at a venue
We had a very pleasant evening with friends. The food was delicious, the staff were attentive but discrete and the surroundings and atmosphere were very pleasant.
Thank you for your review it is nice to be appreciated
Enjoyed a lovely lunch with my elderly aunt for her birthday. Food was excellent and service outstanding from Don our waiter. Highly recommended.
Thank you for your review
Exceptional food with a friendly service. My mum and I had the 3 course set menu, which was very good value. We’re only in the area for a few days but will be back before we leave. Highly recommended for foodies! On a par with top london restaurants.
Really nice place, a bit off the beaten track but well worth the trip. Great food and service.
Amazing service, very friendly and attentive. The restaurant is lovely, very unique interior design giving a blend of styles in a relaxed yet elegant setting. The food was extremely good, very well put together menu and extremely reasonable for the quality. We will be returning.
A return visit for us. We have wanted to try the dinner menu after having lunch here a couple of times. Overall a pleasant experience with a good range of dishes. Extensive wine list. Comfortable lounge for pre dinner and after dinner coffee. More a hotel restaurant than one with walk ins simply because of the location. Lovely gardens and worth arriving a bit early to take a walk.
Step back in time at charming Orestone Manor, relax in the delightful lounge while you peruse your menus, linger over the faultless cusine in the impressive dining room, appreciate the friendly but unintrusive service and drive home carefully.
Been before and enjoyed it. If you're looking for fine dining this is one of the best local restaurants in Torbay and surrounding areas. The Manor itself is very beautiful too. Would recommend.
Went for my husband's birthday. Were given a lovely table on the outside patio with spectacular view down to the sea overlooking the garden. Wines were chilled to perfection and we both had the medallions of fillet. Truly mouthwatering and delicious. Cooked to perfection. Our sauces were fantastic and complemented our steaks to perfection. Cannot recommend this establishment more highly and would most definitely return. Staff attention was just right. A lovely experience and not overly expensive. Hence 5 stars.
My husband and I came here for afternoon tea on our wedding anniversary. We had a very enjoyable experience. The food was exceptional-delicious sandwiches and home made cakes. We especially liked the unlimited tea which we drank and drank! Lovely surroundings and very attentive and friendly staff made it a very special occasion . We are looking forward to returning for lunch or an evening meal very soon!
This was going away with my daughter, food was fabulous and service second to none.
It's not the first time we've been here but it certainly ticked all the boxes.
Really nice restaurant, great food and service looking forward to next visit !
Very pleasant evening with attentive and engaging staff, good food, genuine homely feel.
They were quite busy (so they must be doing something right) but we weren't kept waiting or ignored. Food options represented a decent choice and portion sizes were just right .
Very good and we'll definitely go again
The food here is sensational, we have spent more at Michelin starred restaurants that didn't deliver as much as here, the pork belly is a show stopper. It takes a lot to impress my husband and he stated that this dish might be his most favourite dish- ever.
We were dining with our two year old so the restaurant seated us away from everyone else, literally in a room on our own. Whilst this might be pleasant for some, we felt very out of the way and didn't experience the ambience of this restaurant as a result. I think they must have regretted the decision when seeing that our 2 year old is accustomed to dining in restaurants and doesn't cause a scene, in hindsight we should have asked to move. But hey.
Overall though, this meal was crazy cheap for the quality. Under £100 for a lovely bottle of wine, main courses and petit fours. What more could you want.
We enjoyed lunch from a varied menu and the surroundings are classic. Friendly service.
This is a very good high end restaurant. The food was perfect with excellent attention from the staff . Price wise it's high end but that is justified by the quality, service & position . Makes the Elephant[ torquay restaurant ] look poor . We will be going again Mr J.A. Parker
Although the sun didn't shine for too long, we had a fabulous meal in beautiful surroundings. The staff we more than helpful and accommodated us sitting outside for pre drinks and then back inside for our meal. The atmosphere was relaxed and yet still special. We shall certainly be back again.
A lovely location only a few miles outside Torquay but with countryside feel and atmosphere. Good service and lovely gardens.
A nice venue for a special occasion. Good to see white tablecloths and good space between tables. Whilst the quality and quantity of food was generally good I did think the quantity of Lobster for my meal was a bit small. My wife did enjoy her fish dish and remarked that it was very fresh. (No fish odour!) Other hotels please learn.
We booked months ahead to make sure and there were only 2 other couples. Food, service, ambience etc. Were among the best we have experienced and, at age 70, we have a little. Don't negate my review because of my age. The Orestone Manor is GREAT! The old lady [my wife is a day (hours really) older] agrees completely AND it was for her 70th birthday. The servers even overheard that and recognized her because of that. Loved it.
We arranged to enjoy our 1st wedding anniversary at this venue and could not have been more thrilled at the quality of food that we enjoyed. The service was 2nd to none and every course that chose was beautiful. Thank you to everyone.
