Our specialities are Dim Sum and seafood, with a focus on Szechuan and Cantonese dishes, plus those from the northern regions of China.
Our aim is to delight and enthuse customers who want to experience delicious, authentic Chinese food that is honestly-priced.
We hope you'll find our service friendly and efficient, our ambiance relaxing and our refurbished premises with contemporary décor elegant and comfortable.
Proud to serve the Chinese and central London business communities, plus theatre-goers and tourists.
All our dishes (including all Dim Sum) are cooked fresh daily by our own chefs on the premises.
Nice food, good quality control and excellent value.
Our visit on 30 July was our second this year and it has been fantastic both times. Excellent food and service. We are looking forward to our next visit.
Lovely food especially the spring rolls and great service.
Si la nourriture est excellente, le rapport qualite/prix est insuffisant. En effet, riz et nouilles sont facturés alors qu'en Belgique, cela est compris dans le prix avec le plat ! Carte des vins insuffisante également.
It is certainly our favourite Chinese restaurant in London - the food is great. Service on this occasion was very good though at times in the past have found it slow - sadly staff generally not particularly friendly or cheerful. However, this does not take away from our enjoyment of the food.
Fantastic food and excellent service. Have never been disappointed on any of our visits.
Excellent service and food was amazing. Must go there for great Chinese food!
Excellent service, great food. A great place for a meal prior to a show. Allow at least 1 hour.
For really tasty and made an occasion special. Menu ranges quite a bit so suitable for regular dining and special occasions. Good atmosphere and good menu.
I have been to this restaurant already for number of times as food is so great! This time I took a friend of mine who really know about good food and wine (he is an official "sommelier" ). Thanks to Orient London, I was able to show off that I do know about food as well.
Staggering amount of menu choices at reasonable prices. Went twice on a recent stay and the food both times was excellent. The only knock I have is that the service was actually too quick, and that's coming from an American where we value speedy service. If you're looking for a quick, but exceptionally well prepared, Chinese meal, this is the place.
Amazing Chinese food and a huge selection of vegetarian dishes. Really recommend to anyone around the Chinatown area in London. Will rejoice the time I spent there with my family for months to come.
Fabulous restaurant and the staff so welcoming with my wheelchair. They really couldn’t do enough for us. Food lovely. Wish we had longer in there. Will be going back again soon.
As always very good food. Steamed items may take time as they are steamed upon order.
Excellent food - we enjoyed everything from Set Menu C. High quality from the starters onwards. We would have loved a tiny bit of flexibility on the contents of the Set Menu (eg swapping in one lower-priced dish for one course), but both service and food were very good.
The food was of the highest quality and very tasty. We had the deep fried asparagus with chilli and the soft shell crabs for starters which were delicious. The crab soup with sweet corn and very good too. For the main dishes, we had sliced beef with black bean sauce, sliced chicken with ginger, fried shrimp with noodles and the emporer chicken. Everything was of the highest quality, all accompanied with some excellent red wine.
Tasty food and fast service. It was very busy while we were eating and we felt a little rushed. You get a lot for your money.
Great food, better quality than majority of the Chinese restaurants in the area. Service very attentive. Price is probably a bit higher than average restaurant in China Town but it's worth paying for the quality food they serve.
This is a brilliant place. I have used it several times for business meetings and it has been consistently excellent. Our last visit was early evening on a Friday and the food was outstanding. The service was "good", but there is room for improvement. Staff need to learn how to be ultra-polite to customers.
When we arrived it some considerable time for someone to come to the table ...
We then found out that the Dim Sum menu is only till 4pm! I booked this restaurant specifically for the Dim Sum!
It said nothing on the OpenTable website or the restaurant website that this was the case ...
We didn’t have time to find somewhere else so we stayed ..
The food was very good and although the restaurant was very busy, the service improved so it ended up a good evening.
I always enjoyed the food at Orient, but service was not always great. I book a dinner for three for last Friday at 7pm celebrating my birthday and I disappointing to not be allowed inside until my friends arrive, it was 7 pm and there were 7-8 min late.
We also didn't enjoy the service of the waiter and some of the food was too salty.
When the bill arrived , we didn't want to pay the service charge as we weren't happy with the service , but the waiter asking: Whyyy? But Whyyy? Why noooot? After I told him the reason , he was still asking in a insisting way :but whyyy? I end up paying the service charge but that's because of the waiter insisting attitude and that was not a nice way to make someone pay for the service charge.
Friendly restaurant with good quality food - set menu offered good choice
A fantastic meal, the food was delicious x
The food in general was good, prices a little high however this is what you expect from a London sit down.
It was a shame that there was no china spoons as in every other place.
Traditional Chinese restaurant. Very clean and comfortable. We had a balcony table near to a door used by staff but it wasn't a problem. We had fixed menu which included a very tasty crispy duck with pancakes. Wine list was reasonable
Overall bill for four people was very reasonable for central London . I would book again (mid week).
Mediocre bland food, could do so much better. On the plus side, service fine and the food was served promptly .
I love the bustling energy of this superb, authentic, dim sum restaurant. The choice and quality are excellent. It never fails to give me that warm contented feeling when I lunch here. And, my goodness, those waiters are busy! Perhaps even too busy sometimes - we had to wait in between times for a couple of items.
We were recommended to Orient for casual standard Chinese cuisine. It was just that. I would have rather tried a take away or more of a street food type place for less cost.
Food was amazing. Set menu C was great value for money in terms of auliry and quantity of food and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend this restaurant
Food and service were decent, but was extremely put off by one of the waitresses who was clearly sick and coughing constantly as she served patrons.
Food is fine, true South China Cantonese style. Quantities are important. Taste is very good.
Our favourite Chinese, food is always great .
Yummy Chinese, good service, thank you
Really great. Nice food and interior, good portions, decent prices, fast service.
Nice place to enjoy chinese food. Service was excellent.
Best soft shell Crab we ever had!
Nice quiet surroundings with attentive staff.
Excellent service by a very efficient and welcoming group of staff. Nothing was too much trouble and very sensible advice was offered regarding portions and selection of food.
Good food, good service and prices reasonable. Don’t assume set menus are good value.. price up items individually as you could get what you actually want cheaper.
