Proud to serve the Chinese and central London business communities, plus theatre-goers and tourists.
All our dishes (including all Dim Sum) are cooked fresh daily by our own chefs on the premises.
Despite the very difficult conditions at the moment, we were welcomed back by the staff, the meal was very good as usual and we enjoyed ourselves.
Great food & service. Ideal for pre theatre dinner
Very accommodating taking us in early. Orient mixed starter and crispy wonton excellent. Fried rice, chicken chow mein great. Daughter wasn’t to keen on her lemon chicken but I thought it was fine. Mixed bbq meats, very good quality but not to my personal taste sadly. But good to try new things. Would go again as crispy beef on another table looked very tasty. £135 for 4 people including tip and drinks.
Food was absolutely amazing aswell as the staff.they were very attentive, and a lovely atmosphere.i would go back again.however was on the pricey side, but I suppose I get what u pay for.
Food tasted good but the service is below average...
Good quality meal let down a little by staff being disingenuous about adjusting the air conditioning for us. If they'd have been upfront that it wasn't possible to begin with all would have been fine.
If you're looking for a delicious Chinese restaurant to eat at in China town this has to be the best. The décor is clean and simple, the staff are lovely and the food is amazing. If you go, definitely have the crispy aromatic duck! We were given a table by the window and it was a lovely quiet spot. Highly recommend!!
A very pleasant evening in Chinatown. Food very good and friendly attentive service. A nice casual Chinese restaurant at fair prices and which I would definitely recommend
Out with my sons for their birthday, been before! Waitress Fang was fabulous
Very good service and reasonable prices but some dishes from the set menu were rather disappointingly, bland and hard to distinguish from one another. However, portions were very generous and everything was very clean.
Lovely food, excellent service will be going again !!!!
Really lovely! Yummy food, particularly the seafood platter for starters. Lovely staff too.
Very busy restaurant with a good buzz. Food was delicious, salt and pepper ribs were meaty and spicy. Duck and pancakes very moist and flavoursome. Sizzling steak in black pepper sauce and King Prawn Kung Po, both huge portions and excellent again.
Experience at Orient? In a word: dreadful. We had made a reservation for a Chinese New Year's Eve dinner weeks ahead of time with a request for an upstairs table for 3. Upon arrival, we were instead led to possibly the worst table in the place - a table squeezed into the middle of the chaotic ground floor that barely had space for two people to eat and food scraps from the previous diners still under the table. We pointed this out to the waiter who simply shrugged his shoulders. The floor manager was no better - his was a brusque "Take it or leave it" manner. We decided to "leave it" and departed without eating. I have had a couple of OK meals at Orient in the past, but sadly this is basically the type of busy Chinatown restaurant that has enough tourist flow to not have to bother with customer care. We shall not be returning.
We live near Manchester and last time we visited London with friends I googled and found this restaurant. We had a lovely meal and really value for money.
It’s difficult trying to choose a restaurant in China Town when you don’t know the area.
We visited London again this weekend and again had a lovely meal.
My only complaint was I would have like a portion of pork and beef Sui Mai but they did not do them in the evening?
Will definitely be going again on our next visit.
Very nice restaurant with good service, food and clean toilets.
Fantastic food and service. Well worth a visit . We had sizzling beef and also 2 prawn dishes with sides of noodles, seaweed and rice. Was fantastic.
Amazing food and great portion sizes. The people on the next table were loud and drunk, which got a bit annoying, but that's just luck (or unluck) of the draw. There was always a staff member available nearby but they respected our privacy and didn't keep checking on us. The service was quick and we weren't kept waiting. Worth every penny. Will definitely come back.
I really enjoyed my dining evening at Orient London. It was easy to find having followed instructions via open table and Apple Maps. I was kindly greeted on arrival and the restaurant rep surprisingly knew my name and greeted me on arrival.
I was directed to my table and was given sufficient time to settle before my order was taken.
Option menu C was a delicious selection and allowed for us to sample a variety of tasty options during the meal and conversation. I requested one change to the menu whereby a prawn with Cashew dish was swapped for the sweet and sour option which was so delicious I could’ve opted for a second portion.
The venue was lovely, pleasant atmosphere, clean and tidy I noticed the tables were swiftly cleaned once diners bills were settled. The staff were friendly, polite and helpful.
I’m likely to return to this restaurant in the future. I’d like to visit at least once more.
Friendly staff. We arrived one hour early but they were able to show us to a table straight away. Food was very good. Nice wine selection. Service was prompt and efficient. Would visit again.
Close to Leicester Sq at start of Chinatown, easy to find. Staff helpful and efficient. Good menu with mix of veg and meat/seafood. Good sized portions, food great. Nice atmosphere. Would be happy to go again.
Très bon restaurant chinois très bon dim sum et cuisine Chinoise.
Un peu bruyant
Good location. Standard Chinese fayre - some of the chicken satay sticks were rather dry - as if they had been hanging around some time. The rice and other non-fried items were very tasty. I thought the duck (with pancakes) was a bit dried out too. The service was quick - not very smily - but efficient.
My second visit (was last here two years ago). I came back as I knew food and service were excellent. I booked a table but unfortunately still had to wait about 10 minutes as it was very busy. My order was taken in the queue so that made it faster to get our food as we were going to a show. Duck pancakes were delicious and generous portions. It would be great to have a small taster of a few dishes as they all look so good! Service is exceptional here and they were very apologetic about the wait.
Great location. Fabulous food, great experience & good value for money. This was our fifth visit.
Dim sum very fresh and delicious. Service on point and received attention when we needed.
Brilliant as always, favourite spot before theatre visit for us mums and kids, fresh, healthy, tasty food, quick service.
We had a vegetarian set meal for 2, plus an extra prawns with mango - to share among three people. There was plenty of food (we brought enough home to make lunch), all delicious. The restaurant was busy but we were able to have a pleasant conversation. The waiters were attentive. The food arrived quickly. All in all a very pleasant experience. We'll come again,
We took our nieces to London to see The Nutcracker and stopped here for lunch. It was very busy - good sign - but the service was excellent and food all tasted freshly cooked. Really impressed. We will be back.
Friendly staff, nice surroundings, great food at a fair price and staff honest about how much to order
Bland and disappointing.....sorry
Great Team meal out. The restaurant is quite small so it does get noisy.
We selected vegeterian and meat set menus and they were great value and too much food!
The food was not freshly prepared. The sizzling chicken was smelling as it was overdue to the dates. The stir fried beef was very chewy. The salted egg prawns were short cut process and it was not professionally cooked. It was much more expensive than its worth. The restaurant thinks too many ways to charge the customers. It is worst chinese restaurant i have been to in China town .
Amazing dim sum in a great setting! Always love coming here with my family or friends.
Booked a table for 8.30pm on a Saturday night, however we were in London all afternoon and by 5pm we were really hungry, popped into restaurant on the off chance they might be able to seat us earlier than our booking and were taken straight through to a table despite it being really busy!
We ordered from a set menu, it was served quickly, the food was hot, delicious and plentiful, the Crispy Duck was a highlight. The Rose Pinot Grigio wine was also very very good
Overall we had a fantastic meal at Orient and wouldn't hesitate to go back and will recommend to others.
The vegetable dish had a weird smell that was unberable. We had to ask them to take it away.
The lady at the door was very blunt and unwelcoming. She insisted to keep the outside door open. Everytime the inner door was opened there'd be a cold draft that made it difficult to relax and enjoy our dinner.
Only downside was, when ordering dim sum, it has to done on a separate card (with pen provided). The staff present just bring the order and clear it away, so very little interaction.
Orient London is a perfectly adequate Chinatown restaurant. The food was good, if unremarkable, but the portions were generous and the service was swift and effective. The dining room was a large, brightly lit space, which was buzzing and noisy but unfortunately lacking much atmosphere. Quite expensive but I suspect it was the going rate for Chinatown.
Central position, food excellent and enjoyable. A good evening and would go again.
In my opinion the best Chinese in Chinatown. Food superb and service 100%
