Our specialities are Dim Sum and seafood, with a focus on Szechuan and Cantonese dishes, plus those from the northern regions of China.
Our aim is to delight and enthuse customers who want to experience delicious, authentic Chinese food that is honestly-priced.
We hope you'll find our service friendly and efficient, our ambiance relaxing and our refurbished premises with contemporary décor elegant and comfortable.
Proud to serve the Chinese and central London business communities, plus theatre-goers and tourists.
All our dishes (including all Dim Sum) are cooked fresh daily by our own chefs on the premises.
Only downside was, when ordering dim sum, it has to done on a separate card (with pen provided). The staff present just bring the order and clear it away, so very little interaction.
Central position, food excellent and enjoyable. A good evening and would go again.
In my opinion the best Chinese in Chinatown. Food superb and service 100%
This is a straight down the line Chinese restaurant in Soho with no frills. We had a tasting menu, which was consistently good and as expected. None of the dishes were outstanding and none were substandard. It was quiet on Tuesday night, the service was perfunctory neither poor nor attentive.
When we arrived we were seated at separate tables to the rest of the party, fortunately one of us spotted the other before we had all waited too long.
The set menu was a very substantial amount of food, with considerable waste so unless you're feeding a rowing team, I suggest ordering specific dishes.
The Peking duck was good - we did have too send back the wraps as they had been cooked too long and were stuck together, the duck was good, but again not outstanding.
I'd recommend this as reliable venue that was not outrageously expensive (nor inexpensive).
In a pleasant environment. I suspect (due to the furnishings) that a full restaurant might be more difficult in terms of sound and service.
brilliant food, excellent service, amazing value for money. waiting staff lovely and kind, me and my friend come here whenever we visit china town! thank you :)
Meal was very good and restaurant staff and ambience was nice.
Not the cheapest. But as normal you get what you pay for. A great place serving excellent food.
We are already fans of The Orient and consider it by far the best Chinese restaurant in the area. The food, decor and service are of a high standard.
Really nice food, easy to find, and close to theatres ! Exceelent service and choice on the menu.
We had a brilliant dinner at Orient. The staff is friendly, attentive and very efficient. The food was delicious and the ambience classy, but not pretentious. Highly recommend!
Great service and had a lovely table. Food was great and we weren’t rushed...so nice.
We arrived early, however it did not trouble the staff who seated us straight away.
Service was polite and efficient, you could see that the restaurant is use to dealing with theatre goers.
Food was delicious. Next time we are in London for a show we will be visiting.
Great Chinese food , just next to the archway.
The food was very light , the portion sizes were very generous.
Great amount of choice on the menu
I've had dim sum here at lunch and loved it but would give dinner a miss. The food was totally missable, the service okay and the whole evening a ding.
The restaurant was very busy. Service was fast but not very personal. There’s not much time between courses. The food is good but I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant if you want to take your time and have a nice dinner.
We enjoyed a lovely pre-theatre meal. Good food, fast service.
Booked this restaurant after reading the reviews and we were not disappointed. Food is really good and the staff are very friendly I would definitely return
Great location food and service would go back again
Große Auswahl an indischem Essen, gutes Preisleistungsverhältnis. Recht beengt, aber dadurch fielen unsere lauten Kinder nicht so auf...
I was looking to find a new place to go in Chinatown and was very pleased with The Orient London. The atmosphere was very nice. It was quiet and the service was pleasant and not rushed. The food was also very nice. A bit pricier than some other places, however the overall experience was better so in the end I would say it is worth it if you are looking for a more pleasant experience.
Very pleased with the service, food, and restaurant!
Will visit again!
Delicious Peking Duck. We enjoyed the quality of the food and the size of the plates.
I have eaten in over 4000 different restaurants in my life. The reason I did not rate this restaurant a full 5 stars is that there are very few 5 star restaurants in the world. This is one of the best Chinese restaurants you will find anywhere. The food is perfect, the staff is tremendous and the price is fair. I have eaten in this restaurant on over 20 visits to London.
Very very ordinary and boring Chinese food
Best Chinese I've ever had.
Amazing as always , food always fresh and hot . Our favourite Chinese restaurant
Meal after birthday treat in London.
We went for a birthday dinner - really good food and quick service. Will definitely be back.
This is 'THE' place to go for good dim sum and reasonable service. We ordered shrimp dumplings, spring rolls, steam rice noodles, dumplings filled with soup and they all live up to our expectations. The service is attentive and decor fairly new with clean washrooms. Worth coming back next.
We ate at Orient Soho just south of the Chinatown gate on Wardour. The menu is extensive. We had the soft shell crab, served with chilies and herbs, the sizzling duck with black bean sauce and chilies, and sizzling lamb with black pepper, and all were excellent. We ordered white rice for each, which was sufficient. For dessert we shared a mango pudding, also good, and tea.
With wine and service, the bill came to £40 a person.
Fantastic meal and service!
We enjoyed an excellent meal, with delicious food, good service and at a reasonable price.
Consistently amazing dim sum. Been here so many times but feels like it only gets better.
good food. lots of choice, sophisticated dim sum
Excellent Food. Excellent Customer Service. I would definitely recommend. Autistic friendly environment
Lots of choice on the menu. Will be visiting again.
Loved it here. Always wanted to eat in Chinatown and after researching this one came out the best and it didn’t disappoint. The service was fab and the food was delicious. So pleased I picked this restaurant you must give it a go.
Excellent food, lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.
Lovely meal. Service excellent. Would go back when next in London.
I am actually unsure whether I would recommend this restaurant. Among the ones in Chinatown, this is probably above average. The food and the service are good. The ambience is also better than other traditional establishments in the area. However, despite not having drunk expensive wine or other alcoholic drinks (most of us 4 drunk Chinese tea), the average expenditure per person was just above £50. We found that a little pricey.
Second visit and lovely food again. We ate the vegetarian set menu and can not fault this. Would highly recommend
