Ordered 3 dishes: crispy beef, veggie fried rice, and garlic asparagus. The crispy beef was described as strips of beef coated with batter/breading and stir fried, however we could not find the beef! Literally it was crispy breading, so crispy it was hard to bite, but there was no visual sign of beef or taste of meat in there. The rice was just mediocre, veggies included cold, somewhat hard peas and corn. Basically not too flavorful. The asparagus was good and tasty.
I'd look for another place next time we want Chinese food in London.
What a lovely busy, friendly restaurant in the heart of China town, food great, great atmosphere, well worth a trip to London
Everything was delicious but I found some balls of silica gel in my veggies, it wasn’t the worst though and the staff replaced our plate immediately apologizing for that. Overall it was a good experience, just that detail :)
Went there with friends on Chinese New Year’s Eve to celebrate the end of rooster year. The food is amazing and the service is the best in Chinatown I would say!
Second time I've eaten here, and enjoyed every dish!
We went to this Restaurant after a matinee play, so it was around 5pm and not too busy. Service was reasonable, prices were reasonable, and the general ambience was fine. All in all solid if not spectacular. The food was quite good, but sadly spoiled by the cardinal sin of placing warm food on cold plates. The food would have got 4 stars if it had been piping hot and served on hot plates. As it was the food tended to be warm when you started to eat it and cold by the time you were half way through the meal. A shame as a little more care and attention would make a substantial difference. Sadly not as good as our favourite Cantonese Restaurant in Wolverhampton.
We arrived in China Town earlier than anticipated and changed our reservation time, with no problems, by popping in to the restaurant. The staff were friendly and the service was excellent. The dishes were taken away soon after we'd eaten , which we thought was good. We thoroughly enjoyed every dish we had from the Set Menu C. When we next come to China Town, we will definitely return to Orient London.
Fantastic food and amazing service from start to finish. We dined here on 2 nights whilst in London. Had a set menu on one evening and it was superb.
Seriously brill menu - just a shame we couldn't try more dishes. Super busy even on Sunday early evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here and any requests for extra water, hoisin sauce were dealt with really quickly. Good value too for the quality of food.
Great location and lovely food which was not remotely greasy; the chilli squid was a highlight for me. There is a wide choice of dishes on the menu and service was very pleasant. The restaurant itself was clean, warm and relaxing with a nice atmosphere. I would go again and have recommended to friends as restaurants in this area can be hit-and-miss, I have found.
Great place, great staff and menu, central and perfect for meeting your friends and family. Keep coming back for won ton soup...
The interior is modern but cosy.Service was friendly.Food tastest really good, but the portion could have been bigger. Good Restaurant!
Very enjoyable dinner. Great service from friendly staff. Couldn’t fault the food which arrived promptly. Probably not recommended for romance, only because it’s got a fast pace and tables fairly close together but definitely enjoyable.
Really tasty, really helpful staff. Good good place to relax over a meal-Unlike many Chinese restaurants in the area you didn't feel like you were going to be pressurised to leave shortly after finishing your last mouthful.
Good service and food as usual.
I will visit there again.
Great food and really fast service. Affordable. Was £23 per person for 7 people including drinks.
Quite disappointed. There are loads of better restaurants that are also extremely affordable on the same street. All the food that arrived was cold (even though it was served very fast), half the duck that we ordered was inedible (chewy and lots of bone), noodles were flavourless, etc.
Total was 110 pounds for 4 people and was not worth it at all!
Dined here 3 times in the last 3 months and each time very satisfied with the food and service.
Very good food, good atmosphere and an overall really good experience.
Basic, but tasty food served simply. Served VERY fast, so obviously pre-cooked for some dishes. Very cramped; put 3 of us at a table for 2 despite our reservation. Service very efficient.
Very good service for a party of nine at peak times on a busy Saturday night. Food was good and well served. Wine list a bit pricey for the run of the mill wines but I guesss that is to be expected. The set menus which we chose to save time as there were nine of us were slanted towards sea food which we like ,but might not be everybodies choice. More varied a la Carter menu though. Very nice ambience. Would go again.
Fabulous meal. This is my 2nd visit to the restaurant, this time I took my parents.
The food was exceptional, as was the service.
Will be back when I'm next in London.
Pleasant experience all round. Food was lovely. Will come again.
This was a surprise as we were not expecting much - but it turned out to be the best Chinese I've had in ages. Just the dim sum to start with had us convinced this was a quality restaurant - but our squid and scallop mains were also perfect. We will definitely go again for lunch when dim sum is their speciality.
This restaurant never disappoints
Another superb night with friends, wonderful food and perfect service!
I have been to the Orient several times and it has always been a good experience. The food is excellent and the price is reasonable.
We have been many times and it does not disappoint. This place does all the classic dishes very well. Great service. A tiny bit cramped depending which table you get so not a highly luxurious atmosphere but not low-end either. Let’s say somewhere between “premium economy” and “business class”. Always around 50% of diners are of Asian origin, which seems a good thing to me.
Lovely food and service okay but not exceptional. Still good value and worth a visit
An excellent Chinatown destination. Good food and very courteous and efficient service. Recommended
Great venue for a pre-show lunch or dinner. The service was attentive and the food was probably the best Chinese I have had ever!
I thoroughly recommend this restaurant.
