Our specialities are Dim Sum and seafood, with a focus on Szechuan and Cantonese dishes, plus those from the northern regions of China.
Our aim is to delight and enthuse customers who want to experience delicious, authentic Chinese food that is honestly-priced.
We hope you'll find our service friendly and efficient, our ambiance relaxing and our refurbished premises with contemporary décor elegant and comfortable.
Proud to serve the Chinese and central London business communities, plus theatre-goers and tourists.
All our dishes (including all Dim Sum) are cooked fresh daily by our own chefs on the premises.
The go-to yumcha place for me in Soho for my friends and corporate clients. Friendly staff. Tasty dim sums. Good value. I’m a happy camper overall.
Overall experience was very good. Food was extremely tasteful and service was very quick and polite. I would recommend to anyone, and also try the menus B and C are grrat for an overall experience and a travel through chinese flavours.
Delicious food, excellent service, highly recommend.
Noisy, no authenticity in the food. Very blend westernised Chinese food. Very disappointing
I've twice been surprised by the quality of the food at Orient London. It's location and decor would suggest something far least palatable but they've obviously got a great set of cooks in the kitchen. We're looking forward to trying the full dim sum menu that's available for lunch.
Right at the base of Wardour Street, on the cool edge of Chinatown lies Orient, a truly splendid restaurant. The food, I should point out, is not of some weird and wonderful regional slant, rather it is what we Brits tend to know as 'traditional' Chinese, but produced to the highest standard.
To prove my point (and that of my dining companion) that this place is a cut above the norm, it was thronged with Chinese - but it is not the sort of place to look down upon Brit diners.
Service was stunningly fast and attentive, the food as good as any Chinese I have ever tasted, and the prices very reasonable. I shall be going back many times.
Amazing places to eat tasty and healthy, special pekin duck is brilliant. Definitely I will come again...
Very attentive service, could not fault. The Chicken skewers were a let down because they were very hard and tasted stale with a very chewy texture.
Everything else was okay and would recommend. Note that there is a 12.5% service charge which is not listed on their menu.
Food was good. Service was too fast and little time was allowed in between plates.
Group of 6 went here for our wedding anniversary. Initially sat my door which was freezing and very busy. Staff moved us when asked.
Really quick service. Lovely food. Great value for money. Trendy restaurant. Would recommend and will be back.
Been a few times now food is always amazing and service is very quick
Had dinner here after a matinee theatre performance. Very impressed with quality of food and service. Quite busy - naturally for a Saturday evening - and good value for money. Only downside was that I informed the restaurant at time of booking that the meal was part of my daughter's 24th birthday celebrations but unfortunately this was not acknowledged even though there were clearly other tables celebrating birthdays etc with the staff singing. Will definitely return.
Fantastic find! Food was amazing! Set menu was 100% worth the money absaloute bargin. Woukd highly reccomend
Had a fantastic meal in authentic restaurant. Excellent food excellent service. I will be going again next time I am in London.
Great food, great service, great location after going to the theatre
Amazing food, lovely restaurant, reasonably priced
We have been to this restaurant several times previously and this time it was outstanding. Excellent food and service. This is my favourite Chinese restaurant in London.
Been here at least three times. Always had good food and service.
We visited Orient on new years eve and were not disappointed. We chose one of the set menus, which seemed to be the popular choice judging by the food being enjoyed by our fellow diners. Each course was tasty and plentiful, the service was attentive but not overly so and we would definitely return.
Everything we ate at this restaurant was delicious.
We had sweet-and-sour chicken that was tasty and fresh. We had a beef and cashews dish that was delicious . I highly recommend this place if you want great chinese.
Great birthday dinner for my teenager
Very popular so glad we had booked!
Best dumplings and great prices. I have gone to many dumpling places but not worth the cost...orient is just right and food is delicious. staff are very efficient too!
Excellent dim sum. Different and unusual combinations. Service lacks grace but is efficient. Expensive but very tasty food. Good for taking visitors to London and a nice change from old school places in Soho.
The absence of gluten free option was a real disappointment. One of our party is coeliac. The website says to tell a server as soon as you arrive if you have an allergy. We did. Our coeliac was offered steamed veg and plain rice as her only option. This is because all the meat and sauces have been marinaded in soy that contains gluten. Even in Milton Keynes the Chinese restaurants now have excellent g/f menus, because g/f soy sauce is as common as salt! The lack of care for her as a paying diner was awful - just a shrug from the server as much as to say your problem, baby. I had flagged the gluten allergy in the notes when I booked. Without that, a 3 star meal. Disgraceful from a London restaurant. Just returned from a mini break in Florence and the options for g/f pasta/pizza there were awesome! If the Italians can do it......
Restaurant sat us in a great location by the window. Service was quick and the food was delicious. Would return on my next visit to Chinatown.
We had an excellent Christmas Eve meal for 7. The menu was more imaginative than most Chinatown establishments. As a non meat eater I was particularly impressed by my main course - aubergines stuffed with prawns and tofu in black bean sauce. Absolutely delicious! There was a nice ambience too with friendly staff.
Food quality and taste is good, but service levels and customer orientation need improvement for an overall pleasant experience. Some of the staff were rather rude, not helpful and not courteous.
We had an excellent evening. Would definitely recommend. The seafood was excellent
Great place with a lovely atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for couples.
Rather a poor table in the aisle to the bar and kitchen, but we were only in for a pre-Theatre meal. Set menu was good value and tasty.
Definitely a winner for me! Late lunch of Dim Sum, Peking Duck and prosecco <3 Everything we ordered was delicious and I will definitely be back.
Lovely place. The food was alright typical chinese cuisine. Overall ok. Diff coming back.
very busy but a good location in chinatown. service was prompt and polite we had a set menu. there was more food than we could eat and it was very tasty. some noise from a nearby table but it was a xmas party so probably not bad all the time. just a little cold as we were near the door. Overall very good and we will go back.
It was a great experience, the food was excellent (Veg chow mein and tofu spicy starter) and they had lots of other vegetarian options as well. The service was fast and the food was hot! Definitely recommend
Best Chinese food I have ever eaten! I didn’t need to add any condiments or sauces to improve the flavor.
Place was freezing, staff a bit blunt at times but food was very good. Beautiful place .
Went there Saturday 8th December 18,
pre booked not sure what to expect as have not visited before , no need to have worried six of us went post theatre . from the greeting to the finish all was first class the staff were brilliant and couldn't have been more friendly the food was lovely fresh hot and tasty .
would definitely visit again .
Really good food and excellent value. One of the best places in Chinatown.
Had set menu D - fish. But other than the lobster course ( which was lovely), fish was always battered and deep fried so missed tasting the fish. Maybe we should not have had the set menu - would try other options as I know this venue gets good reviews
Lovely authentic, tasty food. Good range of dishes including authentic desserts. Very good service. Only disappointment was no decaffeniated coffee
