We enjoyed the visit to a very good authentic restaurant and will return asap
Very good food! It was a bit chilly when we were sitting by the window but when we said so, the waitress kindly prepared another table for us. It was busy as it was New Year's Eve but got the impression it is popular anyway. I would certainly go back if in the area.
Outstanding meal - the food was delicious, the service gentle and efficient, and the atmosphere relaxed and easy. We've eaten here a number of times and love it.
Very good meal. Was dining solo, so only ordered Spring Rolls and a beef and noodle dish. Food was freshly prepared and very tasty. Great value. Very good service. Would eat there again.
This has become our family's favourite for authentic Chinese food.
On this visit my companion, who has lived in Hong Kong and worked in mainland China, said it was one of the best Chinese meals he had ever eaten.
The emphasis is on superb taste and friendly service, and the ethnic menu (presented in English and illustrated) includes a lot of spicy dishes. Some contain offal, but many do not.
The food here is outstanding, really good flavours, with quite large portions, so factor in that when making your choices. There are some authentic dishes for the adventurous too. Don't mistake the brusque nature for poor service just be aware of the difference. I was given a different dish to the one that I ordered which is why I have marked down in service but it was delicious!
A happy return visit. We chose from the enormous Chinese menu and the food was delicious. My family always feels very welcome there and we'll be back soon.
Reasonable Chinese in an out-of-the-way neighborhood restaurant. No ambiance--screaming children as well as employees shouting across the dining room. Would not recommend.
Really tasty food, all freshly cooked. Our first visit and we ordered far too much food - the portions are generous! Service was very friendly but a bit slow as it was busy and the restaurant is quite small. Looking forward to our next visit.
So much to chose from, great delicacies to staples, all great
Good food and service, not too fancy but great variety of food. Keen attention from the cooks.
Yes would recommend. The food was excellent. The ambience a little basic but service attentive. All the clientele while we were there, apart from ourselves, were of Chinese origin, which was an indication of the quality & authenticity of the cooking.
Nice local restaurant informal and tasty
Authentic Chinese cuisine. I really enjoy their grilled skewers and dry hot dip dish. The restaurant is pretty small so it can get pretty cramped when it is a full house. I am very pleased to discover this neighbourhood gem serving authentic Chinese food even though it is quite far from my place.
Little food on the table, the platter was not big enough. You get to order more plates so the total bill is high at the of the night. Handwritten bill not computerised!
This is our first Chinese restaurant in London and it was delicious! We were very surprised with the quality of the food and the service was very good.
Ma po tofu could have been spicier, but great silken tofu with preserved eggs, lamb skewers, fried oysters, excellent simple jiaoxi/ dumplings. Cantonese and Szechuanese menus, some Hunanese stuff
Went for a meal with my son on Friday evening. The restaurant is quite small only eight or nine tables which is fine, it gives a much better ambiance imo. The lady who showed us to our table and took our order was very happy / jolly and created a nice impression on our arrival. Unfortunately the two other ladies who attended our table during the evening were very matter a fact and just seemed to be going through the motions. A smile and some customer interaction would have been nice.
There are two menus, one a typical U.K. takeaway type the second in Chinese with English “subtitles”.
I have to say the food was very nice, well cooked and presented and is definitely a step up from your average Chinese restaurant. My only disappointment was that we finished the six pancakes that came with our 1/4 of crispy duck, I asked if we could just have an extra two pancakes to finish off the meat, cucumbers, spring onions extra. I was told quite bluntly that the pancakes come in portions of six. Really, I cannot believe that they could not let us have two small pancakes to finish off our duck meat. Such a shame, put a little downer on a nice evening. Maybe they should give eight pancakes per portion from now on.
I was skeptical of all the great reviews but they were spot on. Great food but if you’re into ambiance you’re in the wrong place! Very friendly staff.
Had a really enjoyable evening here, food was absolutely awesome (much better than in Chinatown), great atmosphere and service. Small eatery, so, best to reserve a table to avoid disappointment.
Great food, nice friendly staff very authentic cuisine
Great casual amazingly fresh Chinese food without the pretentious approach of higher priced competitors.
A hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant w/ excellent food..! Huge menu, quite authentic, & personal service..
Best tables are by the window-
sehr authentisch-beste pekingente seit langem! gerne wieder!
This is not the most salubrious restaurant nor even one of the, usualy tastelesly decorated flock wallpaper variety, but it has a basic look which is readily overlooked by the standard of the food.
Original, good, simple cooking.
As usual this is one of the better Chinese restaurants in London. Staff is very friendly and the food expertly prepared and fresher than fresh. Great chicken dishes and always willing to do something off the menu.
Nice proper Chinese restaurant in Fitzrovia, no need to get to ChinaTown. Good price and well prepared food. Loved the crispy beef and the spicy soup
Don’t be put off by the decor the food is always excellent and the reason I go back all the time.
Authentisch, frisch, lecker.
Food was tasty and quite authentic. Portions were good so a great alternative to Chinatown.
Good authentic Chinese food in Central London. Don't be intimidated by the menu, everyone can find something they'll like.
We have been here several times, and order off the enormous main menu (not the short tourist type menu for the fearful!). It's quite a small place, and not glamorous, but the staff are friendly and welcoming and the food is excellent.
Pleasant and good value evening meal, was quite popular for early evening
Food is always excellent. On his occasion experience let down by unwillingness to increase portion size to fit party size. For example there are 4 scallops in a dish but we had a party of 5; other Chinese restaurants would be more happy to add extra for an appropriate charge but they insisted on buying 2 portions of everything. Small things count!
We had a child friendly and fast service for a Sunday lunch. The chef was flexible to provide noodles with vegetables only and it was helpful. Food was tasty. Loo is downstairs and the facility can be improved. Those with unsteady feet need to be careful.
Loved the food.
Really good food, ask for the Chinese Menu as the English one has limited options. You should definitely try the Pork Dumplings. I would order a take away. Don't recommend eating there. No atmosphere, very cold, tired looking place.
This was an unlikely venue, and during the day it looks very dark and one could easily walk past. The open kitchen was impressive, also the fresh fish counter. The restaurant itself is a little worn, however, the food was good, with lots of choice.
Great food and service
