This place is nice with a great romantic ambiance. It’s good for couples date or nice intimate dinner. My husband and I enjoyed the food and the service. Very clean and nice. Will go back again.
Service was great. Friendly staff. Menu selection was good too.
Very disappointed with quality/taste of food. I had the hot seafood appetizer; small quantity for the price. My wife had the pizza, she ate one slice/said it was not good.
We go out to eat food and we did not enjoy the quality.
menu lack of choices and expensive. good setting big restaurant
Excellent time trying Oro for the first time. Great menu, love the fact that they have half portions. Nice selection of wines and desserts too. Will definitely be back!
Great food and drinks, excellent service. located across from a parking lot which is a bonus since it is L.I.C.
Food was delicious the four of us all had a different meal and we were all thrilled. The service was great. We were on the early side of dinner on Friday night. So I cannot comment on the service when it being busy.
Food and drinks were amazing will definitely be returning.
Excellent food but the restaurant is like a morgue on a Tuesday night at 7 PM. Completely empty.
Service was good but the food wasn't the best. And took too long to get the food
Date night valentines dinner
Place was quieter than usual bc of the holidays but still a great time! We decided to eat at the bar and the service was amazing. A waiter came over immediately to read us the specials. The meatballs and arrancini are a must try. Food could've been a little hotter but nothing to be mad about. Tried a few of the cocktails and they were all deliciously well made, especially the diablo. Bar area is spacious. Dining area is beautiful. All of the staff was friendly. Wish I could remember the bartender's name bc he really made for a great experience. Will def be back.
The service and food... (tuna crudo & oysters) were amazing!!!! Oro has the NYC feel in LIC. Love this place!
Not worth the money. Service was bad and the food was sub-par at best (not authentic Italian). The waitstaff was not attentive and our food took a long time to come out.
Amazing food and great service. The owner was very nice, he came to the table to make sure everything was good . Very comfortable and relaxing place .
Despite it was a very slow night, our appetizer and entrees came out too late. My Sangria tasted horrible and I didnt like it a bit. My lobster ravioli was okay and cheese plate was just a cheese plate and nothing spectacular.
Food and service were very well paced. I always have a good experience when I dine at Oro
The food was delicious and the service was well paced and very good
Shrimp Fra Diavlo to start, it was beautiful! Had chicken cacciatore for mains & it was delish! Gin & juice cocktail was so good!
I searched for a gluten free restaurant option on Open Table and I placed a request on the reservation for the staff to be be very careful about avoiding any gluten contamination and reminded the staff when we arrived about it. Nevertheless, staff didn’t know that certain vinegars and that soy sauce contain gluten. My fiancee was contaminated with gluten and today is suffering stomach pains from the gluten poisoning, since she took a bite of the tuna when she realized it had soy sauce. It was an unfortunate dinner experience. They should train their staff better about what products and plates have gluten. Disappointed as well on Open Table that allows restaurants to market themselves as being friendly to Gluten Free patrons when restaurants don’t really understand what gluten free means and it is not easy to explain it to the uninitiated when one is dinning.
Really delicious Italian food, fantastic service and a great atmosphere! Really glad we came here
I got extremely sick after eating here. Never again!
We enjoyed an excellent dinner. We had the lobster ravioli and the rigatoni primavera, and both were very flavorful. The hot bread was great, and the tiramisu was exceptional. The service was quick.
There isn't anything really special about this restaurant. It felt more like a Holiday Inn restaurant than a quality Italian place. The calamari came out before our drinks did which made it seem like it was microwaved. Lobster Ravioli was good, but did not get many Raviolis for an almost $30 dish. Gnocchi was WAY undercooked but pesto sauce was good. We left not knowing what we paid for and went somewhere else for dessert.
Very nice restaurant
Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Great food! Would recommend fie dinner or for a private party. They have a great party room!
This was my first time at Oro. The service was very well paced. The Clava was a good drink and the lobster ravioli was delicious. I would definitely recommend Oro for a dinner date.
It was excellent, Mike Celic, the owner is a class act..me and my lady came from the tortuous weather into warm, candle lit atmosphere. I had the lobster ravioli TO DIE FOR, I had some of my lady's salmon, succulent and well prepared... I enjoyed the STRAWBERRY FIELDS cocktail which consisted of ginger beer, vodka, mint...nice combination.....the waiters were definitely on point with serving us and taking our orders accordingly...Last but not least the TIRAMUSU was highly delicious, so rich in flavor.
This is a typical Queens upscale restaurant, in my opinion. The food was okay, but nothing special, and certainly not reflective of the price. The staff was overly attentive, removing plates before we had finished appetizers even though we didn’t have any other food coming, and generally hovering a bit too much. They seemed poorly trained in some of the basics, pouring red wine into the white wine glasses instead of the red wine glasses and other similarly odd behaviors. They were also very nice and accommodating, so this critique is less of the staff and how they treated us than the management and how they trained. Basically, they’ve tried to dress up a pretty mediocre Italian restaurant and charge exorbitant prices as a result. It certainly wasn’t awful but for the price, when we could be in Manhattan within a 15 minute train ride, it wasn’t worth it and I was disappointed.
Great place for dinner when staying at nearby hotels for business. I was there on an otherwise quiet Monday night though there was a "noise level" from what sounded like a holiday party in the next room. Attentive service and homemade gnocchi was *to die for* Some of the best I've ever had.
There was a large group in the place that was incredibly loud and made it hard for me to have a conversation at my own table with my husband. The waiter was at our table three times the whole night and we waited nearly ten minutes for the check. But the food was fantastic.
Great tasting food but very slow and inconsistent service, despite the place being less than half full.
Great food and easy to get to. Took me 10 minutes from midtown.
The pastas were to die for
Even though we arrived quite late, the staff was courteous and the tuna salad we ordered was just great. Their wine menu is well balanced. Everything was just fine.
Nice hide location, atmosphere very elegant and quiet. The drinks watered down but like feel of the place
Unfortunately after a business partner recommended this restaurant we went there and had a bad experience. Ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress brought the wrong bottle. When the appetizers came, one was missing. One person ordered the filet mignon but was served the tomahawk rib eye and after discussions with the manager, she decided to eat that as we were told it would be thrown away. The chicken Marsala had a tomato sauce and was not very tasty. The burger was raw. Then when the bill came they charged fro the tomahawk rib eye and the manager refused to compensate anything.
THE FOOD WAS OK. PLACE HAD A WEIRD SMELL. THE SERVER WAS ON POINT BUT SEEMED TO RUSH IS ALITTLE. I WOULD NOT GO BACK AGAIN.
I met a friend there for dinner during Restaurant Week.... We went at 5:15, so there wasn't a crowd. My husband joined us first for a quick drink and a dozen oysters which they served us at the table and did not make us sit at the bar for the Happy Hour price--thank-you for that. The food was delicious; portions were large. The cheesecake was better than most. All around a nice night out. I'd go back.
Staff was great and the food was also delicious, especially the oysters!
This restaurant is beautiful and ultra chic. I loved it. Food was great and so was the service. Highly recommend!
Food was good but service slow....possibly understaffed. Did not hear music at lunch but band was setting up. Will return to check it out. The food was good
