Orrery is a classic, located in leafy Marylebone and comes complete with a chic rooftop terrace. It recently won big at the Tatler Restaurant Awards, scooping the Test of Time gong, confirming what we've long suspected...
Some things never go out of style, and Chef Patron Igor Tymchyshyn exquisite cooking is a prime example. The Orrery restaurant roof terrace is one of London’s great outdoor dining spaces. In fact, both the bar and sunny terrace are two of London’s finest sipping and basking spots, a great place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the West End.

Orrery Ratings and Reviews
Had my birthday dinner at The Orrery, and it absolutely lived up to the occasion! The beef main course was fantastic, as were all of the deserts. The little extras (amuse bouche, pre-desert, birthday chocolate and petits fours) just added to a great meal, and the service was impeccable. A great choice for a special occasion.
The Orrery is wonderful. It is my London restaurant of choice. Excellent food. Attentive service. Good choice of wine and cheese. I manage to get there about twice a year - usually 4-6 in the group. It is suitable for a quiet dinner for couple or small group, subtle celebrations with fine dining - no ballons. Children occassionally present at lunchtime but is more suitable for adults.
Couldn't fault the food and wine, especially the special wine offers on Mondays! The service was excellent and attentive, without being fussy, and friendly. The waitress discovered that one of our party had a birthday and without any request from us, when she brought the desert, she had got the chef to write Happy Birthday in chocolate around the dish. A memorable evening.
We go to Orrery for special occasions (cant think that too many ordinary folk would spend this amount on an ordinary night out) and the standard is consistently high. Greeting is friendly, Service immeccible and the food excellent- intense flavours and immaginative presentation. The only surprise is that the fish portions were certainly small for the price (I heard the people on the other table say the same) which is a shame because it costs them very little more to offer a decent sized portion. We didnt leave hungry though.
As always, Orrery in Marylebone provides a special dining experience. The food is divine, full of flavour and presented as little works of art, almost too beautiful to eat. The wine book (it is not a mere list) is comprehensive, with a sommelier on hand to assist. The service is attentive without being obtrusive. And there is a lovely view through the windows onto Marylebone High Street and the green at the back of St Marylebone Church.
It isn't cheap, but you do get what you pay for.
The food was superb and the service was attentive and friendly. They made us feel uncomfortable. Such a great value for the quality of food! The only thing is that there is no background music and at 6.30 the restaurant was a bit empty so it would be more pleasant to have some mellow music on.
They immediately welcomed us back although we'd not been here for a year. The same understated friendly service and well balanced menu, which is important as we don't eat meat. Portions are generous and perfectly presented with style. Although not spectacular the dishes do show originality and perfect presentation. Our only issue is that wines are pricey. A great place for special occasion, will be memorable.
Orrery is one of our favourite restaurants and we chose it for our anniversary lunch this year.
We were not disappointed. Everything was immaculate from the moment we walked in. The food was exceptional and the service friendly and very professional. We shall certainly be going back.
Excellent meal at Orrery. This is the 3rd time w've been here and it has always been exceptional. We had the special offer menu of 3 courses , 3 amuse bouches and a Bellini and it was good value and delicious. Very good chocolates with the coffee too and we had a 500ml carafe of wine for under £20
