Great tasting food well presented top fine dining great friendly service
Another fantastic Orwells experience - between lockdowns, sadly. Food excellent as ever, service and attention to detail brilliant. Hope you guys have a great Christmas and we’ll see you when you reopen
I'm afraid 2.5 hrs for 3 (small) courses was below par. 20mins for drink refill.
Not sure if this is normal for them, Waterside, Fatduck, The Beehive, have the ambience to fall back on (if) the service was slow. If your seated at 8, and the waitress has to come round a few minutes before 10 to get desert orders in due to cut off, means pretty much 2 hours for a starter and a main.
Outstanding tasting menu, brilliant service, highly recommended
Absolutely stunning, best in the area by a country mile
Great experience, fantastic menu with a few adventurous touches. Recommended!
Fantastic food experience, great ambience and wonderful service.
Had an incredible meal at Orwells! The tasting menu was superb, highlights included the scallop & crab & wild boar dishes. It will certainly stay on our list, a great overall experience.
Absolutely delicious and theatrical food, the tasting menu makes for a very special experience for a celebratory occasion. Very good service too from all too, thank you :)
Brilliant as always
We’ve been coming to Orwells for many years and also enjoyed their excellent takeaway fish and chips during lockdown. So lovely to be back in the restaurant which has been beautifully refurbished. Excellent friendly service as always from Arnaud and his team, who were all wearing unobtrusive face guards. The food as usual was delicious and imaginative...cooking of the highest standard. Orwells is a real treat in every way.
Lovely for a special occasion, a bit pricey but oh is it worth it. Service was second to none and the re-decoration is superb. Will definitely visit again.
Revamped dining room relaxing. Superb staff as alway. Arnaud runs a great "front of house". Ryan and Liam work hard for their success. Everything about their food sings! Toffee Apple cheesecake to die for!!
Excellent food, wine and service as always
We loved everything about our time at Orwell's. The service was excellent and the food outstanding as usual. We will be back soon for sure!
We have eaten here a few times and Orwell’s never disappoints. The food and service are outstanding. Would highly recommend it to anyone wanting a culinary treat.
This was the best meal we've had at Orwells - fantastic menu.
Amazing food and experience as always, very accommodating given we could only come for the last hour before lockdown and were waiting to serve us our main course. Thank you Arnaud!
This was a gift from our kids for our joint 70th birthdays, a nice experience. The staff coped well with COVID restrictions, the chefs prepared some super courses, very inventive and tasty, and the front of house staff were welcoming and helpful.m throughout. So overall it’s was a very enjoyable lunch.
Lovely Sunday lunch, delicious roast beef. Very good service, friendly, efficient but not intrusive. Love this restaurant for a special meal. Thank you.
The cooking is obviously very good and the service very pleasant however we left a little disappointed. Our last visit was excellent so there was high expectation. My sea bass starter was slightly over which was probably not helped by being served on a red hot plate. My duck was good and my partner’s croquettes and roast beef also tasty but not as spectacular as hoped.
I was very disappointed not to have been told about the specials of the day which were grouse or partridge, as I would definitely have chosen one of these. That was annoying.
The bread and butter was excellent as was the amuse bouche ploughmans.
Two diners, two course Sunday lunch with three glasses of house wine and a coke £150 including service. Not good value.
We will return for a rematch but not in any hurry.
Great food and service, good value, very comfortable and unpretentious, perfect for a special occasion
A lovely birthday meal. Fantastic food, friendly staff. Arrive by 6.45pm if you want the long tasting menu as we booked for 7pm as per the website but couldn’t have the long menu when we asked at 7.06pm. Still great, inventive flavours on the short menu.
first rate, as always - great to see rthe place open again - looking forward to going back in December
The menu was seasonal, interesting and the cuisine excellent. A very enjoyable experience once again.
Lovely Sunday Lunch with family. Food fantastic as always. New decor is lovely. Plenty of space and staff professional and welcoming despite extra layers of protection required.
Service was impeccable and the food was spectacularly tasty. Every dish was a treat. It made for a truly special experience.
Forever our place for special treats! The food as ever was exceptional, as was the service.
Very innovative cooking but not fussy and delicious!
Would recommend buying wine by the glass and not the ‘ wine flight’ as it is cheaper
Excellent food and Service and reasonable value for money
Never disappoints. Outstanding tasting menu, gets better every time we go there.
Some brilliant dishes and great cooking. Fantastic appetiser called Ploughman’s Lunch. Lovely big scallops. Beautiful fish. Venison slightly over cooked. But a really good restaurant and lovely ambience.
Very nice lunch. Atmosphere was very friendly / comfortable, not formal. Food was excellent, nicely presented. Good wine list. Not sure why there is no Michelin star yet.... Location is great in the country side. Nice walk after lunch.
Without doubt the best restaurant in the Henley area, always fantastic food, great service.
Love the new look
Will be back again soon
Amazing food as always but prices are getting very high and service has become very impersonal. There’s no lunch menu anymore which makes it a little expensive to pop in for lunch regularly.
Great food and great service as always
The tasting menu was delicious and fascinating but what made the whole meal particularly superb was matching the food to both wine and unusual non-alcoholic drinks (for the driver). My only issue was I would have loved to stay longer, but Covid prevented us from staying too long. Will definitely return.
A wonderful lunch at Orwells afrer such a long absence. The food and service were as good as ever and the new look of the dining room is a big improvement.
From the moment we turned up to the to the time we left the evening was a most enjoyable experience.
The food was excellent as was the service. Slightly apprehensive about booking a table in these strange times but we needn’t have worried. The tables were well spaced and the refurbishment meant we all felt very secure.
The whole family had a very, very enjoyable evening. Many thanks.
A special, memorable and divine meal, beautifully served and presented.
