Table booked via OpenTable, special request met in excellent manner. Visitors arrived from outskirts if London to sit at a table with a clear view of the Solent and Isle of Wight...... Exactly what we asked for.
Staff attentive and friendly, organised and accurate with orders. Food arrived in a timely manner but we were a little disappointed by the portion sizes on two mains. However, what we received was very tasty. One dessert, the panacotta, was more like a Yoghurt - not set whatsoever, probably never had been. The other dishes were delicious.
Maybe we expect too much, but the portion sizes for the prices charged seemed a bit small. Perhaps rises in minimum wages has had a negative effect on value for money reality. We'd like to go back, but will have to save up!
Enjoyed the food and there was lots of choice. Service however, was poor. Had to ask to order desserts, then again to order coffees then again to get the bill. Not really acceptable when food is not particularly cheap.
Lush food, came out quick and hot! Waitresses lovely however uniform needs looking at. Short skirts with no tights didn’t wash down too well with me drink and meal.
Polish waitress with glasses very good service -attentive and lovely lady x
Another enjoyable family meal out with a fantastic view, whatever the weather. Only minor problem was the card payment system was down, sorted with minimum fuss though.
Lovely pub with amazing views and fab garden area. Sunday roast was nice although the beef was rather tough on this occasion
The table was booked as a late mother's day treat, but in the end only myself and my husband were able to attend.
We arrived and were greeted straightaway and showed to our table which had a lovely view of the solent. We both ordered lamb shank which was delicious, and so filling with lots of lovely veg and a yorkshire pud, that we had no room for dessert.
I would definitely recommend Osborne View.
The food and service was brilliant only draw back was were we were seated it is a busy walk through area and this took away some of the dinning experience
This is a lovely restaurant. The food is always good and the staff are helpful and attentive despite usually being very busy. A firm favourite for when we have visitors!
Visited for a special occasion. Booked in advance (perhaps as well as every seat was taken!) and found this particular Saturday afternoon to be an extremely busy time. Very noisy and whilst our server was apologetic, it took 15 minutes for our first drinks order to be taken, not great:-(
Food was good (not great), and once the order taken arrived in the usual time parameters, however, subsequent course and drinks service quite slow due to the volume of customers. Once again the server was friendly and apologetic, but management should ensure sufficient staffing levels to suit.
Prices are on the steep side and whilst the food is usually pretty good, on this occasion it certainly wasn't great and portion control was well off (beef stew, mash and TWO slivers of carrot - not honey glazed either - which for the ££ is not good enough).
We shall be back, but not for food I'm afraid.
Good food although a bit pricy, particularly the sweets.
Also our table was a bit cramped but a very good waitress.
Will use The Osborne view again.
This is local to us so we have been before. The pub has great views over the Solent and has a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Although the menu is limited there are specials and the food is good although possibly a little pricey.
I was able to book a table here for early evening on mothers day having tried beefeater and harvester which were fully booked all day.
Very pleased with the quality of service and food. Understandably some roasts had sold out but waitress was apologetic. Both courses were served in good time on hot plates which is always a good sign and they must have been very busy since midday. Reasonably priced wine and good value food. We shall return.
Lovely meal for mother’s day . Only slight disappointment the roast potatoes not up to their usual standards
There was plenty of seating for 2 people or multiple seating I went to the Osborne with my daughter for Mothers Day & it was a happy atmosphere for all.
Will keep it in mind for the future.
We went here for mother’s day, lovely roast for the meat eaters and gorgeous lentil shepherds pie for the vegan.
The night before mother’s day so was busy and they seemed to be understaffed. We were constantly waiting for the next part; the plates to be removed, the desert menu, the bill.we ordered more drinks but these never came. I have been before and was happy but not this time.
Excellent view over the Solent. The restaurant was very busy, but staff were attentive and served us as quickly as they could, , maintaining a friendly and humoured approach. Food good. Thanks.
Had a lovely Sunday Roast. Such good value. My husband had the steak Pie and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Window table so had a lovely view across to the Isle of Wight. To get a good table I recommend you book in advance
Had a lovely meal and catch up with a friend. I am very pleased that I booked up as it was very busy when we got there on Saturday. All very clean and tidy and service was good.
We had a fantastic evening, the red rose on paying the bill was a lovely gesture thank you.
We booked for valentines night. Menu was limited and over priced. Custard was cold with my dessert. Nice venue, nice staff but menu limited. Food was of a poor standard with uninspiring presentation.
Although I had made it clear we would be bringing 2 dogs with us, the table that they had reserved was not in the dog area. So we had to wait till one came available.
Had a very enjoyable meal ...... food was very good, plentiful and good value for money. Atmosphere again Good, waitress excellent. Would definitely go again!!
My friend and I enjoyed meeting for Sunday lunch. Would prefer not to be seated in the
"pets area" - and will make sure I mention this next time.
The staff were really polite and friendly. Good training.
excellent as usual. Always love to come to this place. Great atmosphere.
Definetly one of my favourite places to eat good quality pub food in a great location.
The ‘order food at the bar’ service fell way below par with long queues and, at times, one member of staff serving and trying to make coffees etc. Service so slow that a friend, who was two ahead of me in the queue had received her meal by the time I got back to my table. We, however, waited 30 minutes - when I asked a waitress what was happening she said she’d find out then didn’t. When I asked a second time she said ‘I’m very busy’ then returned to say our orders had been lost. A shambles. Food was ok when it finally arrived but couldn’t relax and chat because of all the stress
The view is a real pull to this venue. The food has improved greatly and the staff that have served me have been polite and friendly. Very refreshing.
I have dined here before
A New Year meal with my family, booking was easy, table was perfect and the food very nice, I will recommend to others.
The meal was good as was the service, however we felt a little squashed. We had booked a table for 6 adults and had a baby in a push chair , our table was so close to the one next to us that it was impossible to sit down without disturbing them.We felt that the area allocated to each table was insufficient for us or other diners to fully enjoy our meal.
This pub has a wonderful view however ... the food served did not match menu description so very poor
Home made bakery roll arrived as sandwiches
Seasonal crumble arrived as gold trifle!
White bait arrived as end of packet dregs
Waitress pleasant young lady but poorly trained and informed ....so embarrassing for her!
Meeting of family for christmas get together. Despite being very busy service was very good.
Great views from table over the Solent to the Isle of Wight. Good range of foods to select from. We have also been here in the summer and being able to eat out in the garden which leads straight onto the beach is great.
Two of our party couldn’t have what they ordered ( you’d run out ) but they were told separately with a long gap In between .
I had the sirloin the meat was good chips ok but not a lot of them and the mushroom was disappointing.
I am not complaining just giving you feedback , we did enjoy our evening
The Boxing Day menu was good, but the food was nothing special, just more of it. The table had a cold blast of air over it every time the garden door opened automatically. There was no bitter beer available....all in all a disappointment I’m afraid, as this is our local.
We had a fantastic time. Service from the start was very welcoming, they were patient, and couldn't do enough for us. We were well looked after. Then the food was amazing. We left stuffed. Will deffo be back again.
Thank you for the lovely service and great food. Appreciated by all. (Table of nine, including 2 children. ) Staff made us feel very welcome and everyone enjoyed there food.
We often eat here and always find the staff helpful and attentive. The food is always good - 6 different veg with my roast!
Went for my Dad’s birthday. Lovely table and very friendly staff. One starter order initially wrong and then replacement came after most of us had finished. Long wait between courses but the quality of the food helped to make this more pleasant. Not sure if staff shortage was cause or what but staff were very apologetic.
