We've been to the restaurant before and that is the only reason I would recommend. If this was my first time visiting, I would not return. We were sat next to a table that was so loud I couldn't talk to my husband. We couldn't hear each other. There were other open tables so I am not sure why we had to sit there. Our waitress was not great. She bought our food but when asked for recommendations, just shrugged and said they're good. Really couldn't recommend much. We ordered a meat and cheese board and the prosciutto was shredded. In the past it is usually cut nicely in longer strips. In the end, we weren't even given the correct coats. We went back but if there is a coat check, please make sure to get the right coats.
First time here. The food was good and ambiance was nice. Wine was a bit pricey for out in the suburbs. Not sure if it was because of restaurant week but the pace of our three course meal felt very rushed. There was no time between courses; appetizers, main course, dessert all done in about an hour for 4 of us. If I lived closer to this place, I might return but I wouldn't make a special trip here. Also not sure why this was listed as part of DC restaturant week. Originally thought it was in Old Town Alexandria since it's address was Alexandria but it turned out to be Springfield, VA. I would recommend if you were in the vicinity.
A great local restaurant that we visit frequently. They often change the menu to add new and additional interesting dishes.
The food was excellent and the service was superb! Came for restaurant week but will definitely be back again.
The service was not great, just ok. This was our first time at this restaurant. Although the server was aware that my husband is a vegetarian she failed to tell him that the salad had bacon on it. He found out when he got it. The food was just ok.
Osteria Marzano has never let us down. Always a great meal with exceptional service in a very nice setting
We have been here on a few occasions and had good luck. Just did a lunch here during restaurant week that was mediocre, but the dinners have been very good.
Upon making my reservations I contact it the restaurant directly. The hostess was very kind and polite she went over the menu with me and then told me that it was restaurant week. I did not know this so I think that was very nice of the person to inform me of this. We went for my wife's birthday and had an excellent time. The food was great the customer service was excellent we will definitely be returning. Julie the GM is superb she visited our table numerous times to ensure that everything was well. The staff's hospitality was excellent we even shared with them some fruit from my wife fruit basket. This place is a hidden gem. All the reviews i read before going were all on point, if a family run restaurant and you can tell by their attentiveness. I had the branzino and my wife the spaghetti & meat ball the meatballs are fairly large so if you go and order this one comes with the dish I would not recommend ordering more than just one additional one. Julie also provided us with material about the upcoming cooking and wine classes they have. Please make if your business to visit this establishment.
Had a wonderful dinner!! Restaurant was crowded so service was a little slow.
I love the food but it is always freezing in there no matter what time of the year we go there. I have pointed this out to the server on multiple occasions and they always say , “sorry we have no control over it”.
I wish they could do something about that because it is uncomfortable and we could not truly enjoy our food.
We chose Osteria Marzano for the Restaurant Week promotion and were delighted by the quality of food and the service. I can’t think of a single complaint. Will definitely return in the future!
We went to OM for a late lunch during Restaurant Week and were reminded again what a wonderful gem we have with Osteria Marzano. My husband started with the fish soup which was absolutely delicious and perfect on this cool, damp day. We both had the salmon entree, because we knew how perfectly prepared it would be and were not disappointed. The tiramisu is a favorite menu dessert item for a reason, so we both enjoyed that, as well. If you haven't been to OM, Restaurant Week is a great time to try it, but you will enjoy it whenever you go.
We have come to Osteria Marzano for 2 restaurant weeks as well as get togethers with friends. Lunch is our favorite time to go. Tried the pizza this time and it was very good. Would definitely order again.
We went for a pre birthday celebration. We both ordered the grilled salmon. Hers was done medium rare just the way she likes. Mine was medium just oozing with flavor. Both salads had crisp greens and the perfect amount of dessing. Only downside to our meal, besides the loud noise, was she had to ask for a steak knife in order to cut her "lukewarm" broccolini. We will go back since Marzano's is one of the few restaurants in our area with good food.
Birthday dinner for my dad with family.
We’re regulars for Good Reason. Another great date-night din-din chez OM. Excellent food, attentive service. Blood orange & Fennel salad hit the spot. French Onion soup special was SUPERB. Short-rib ravioli very good. Broccoli and Spinach sides and the Mushroom Pizza were kick-butt addictively delicious. Result? Two Full Tummy Happy Campers.
Birthday celebration lunch was delicious as always. Outstanding service, food, free parking, friendly staff, birthday dessert.
This was our second time here. There were four of us and we all had a different special. All were excellent as was the service. Prices were high but there were some more reasonable priced items on the menu.
Fabulous cocktails, food and service. Wonderful send-off for our daughter with our family. Our server was fabulous. Ostario is a go-to for us and we look for to our next visit! Never disappoints!
Our family party was fabulous and the staff at OM made it very special. Chef Carmine came to our table to make sure our food was perfect. Our server never missed a beat and we never felt rushed or neglected. OM is one of the very best restaurants in NoVA and we will be back - often.
My entree was very good, the pasta was homemade and tasty. The calamari was just ok. Very crispy so maybe slightly overcooked. The short rib my mom ordered was SO good, highly recommended. Lentil soup was too runny. Just liquid and lentils, we’ve had better. Food took a while to come out but it was NYE so that probably why. But our reservation was for 5:00 so it wasn’t very busy when we got there. Our server was nice enough but didn’t make us aware of upcharge costs before ringing anything in & I only realized that when I requested an itemized bill. She ran my card and only bought out the cc slip so I had to request the itemized. We still tipped more than 20% but it would have been nice to been made aware that there is an upcharge for certain items you are offered. Overall the ambiance was good and I really liked my entree so I’ll probably come back. It was a nice first time experience and a change from the usual chain restaurants in Springfield.
There was a large party in the room with us so it was a little louder than expected. Food was delicious. Service was good. Overall very nice experience!
Incredible food, The special 7 fishes dinner served only during holidays. Service was excellent and the food incredible.
Excellent service and food. The Fettuccine Alfredo made table side was outstanding!
Feast of the seven fishes was delicious
OM never disappoints. From the craft cocktails to the inventive desserts, the menu is delicious and creative. We enjoyed the Feast of the Seven Fishes dinner to celebrate a pescatarian’s retirement, and it could not have been a more perfect way to mark the occasion. Of special note was the lobster ravioli...chunks of lobster, perfectly cooked, wrapped in a delicate house-made pasta, enrobed in a buttery sauce that lightly complimented the dish so the wonderful lobster essence shone through. Chef Carmine knows how to do fish! The John Dory was treated respectively...crusted in hazelnuts with a perfectly moist interior. Even the ubiquitous tiramisu was surprising, with the usual lady fingers being replaced with panettone. What a delicious delight to discover tidbits of citrus fruit submerged in the mousse! A lovely finish to a lovely meal in a lovely restaurant. Thank you, Chef Carmine!
Osteria Marzano is always outstanding Great food and great ambiance and great service.
Always wonderful! So many great options on the menu! Our surprise to discover discount wine offer on Sundays.
Great food and drinks , my boyfriend highly recommends the Ossobuco
We had a great time at Marzanos. Our granddaughter loved it and was excited to see Santa. Our meals were very very good as usual. It was a great idea to have families come for dinner and see Santa at the same time. Will remember this evening!! Good job Marzanos !!
Delicious Italian cuisine, including mussels appetizer, salad, bread, and pasta dishes, accompanied by friendly, excellent service.
Great evening celebrating our friend’s retirement. Table side spaghetti finished in a Parmesan cheese round was outstanding. Veal chop was very good. Service as always was excellent.
It’s been over a year since I last went to OM, but not because of the quality. OM is quality. Pasta is house made by an Italian chef FROM Italy who knows what he’s doing. Pizza is awesome. But even if you’re down for a steak, it’s still top steak restaurant quality. We’ve been going to OM since the beginning, and we’ll keep going.
Food was very good. Service a bit slow.
Excellent meal for a short-notice Friday date-night!. We’re dangerously close to becoming loyal regulars. Natalie took great care of us. Shout-out to the kitchen for its yumilicious Polpette and Ricotta appetizer, and to the Chef for visiting our table to follow-up on our codfish anatomy question pursuant to the Very Satisfying & Artful Fish and Chips entree. Squid-ink Pasta & Maine Lobster special had great heat. Bartender’s Negroni and Boulevardier elegant and balanced, but ran small. Getting addicted to the Sautéed Spinach side.
Such a nice restaurant and really good food and music!
We went on a Friday night - mistake as it was also happy hour. The noise level was so loud that we could not carry on a conversation. The food was good but we were rushed through the meal by the server. I like this place and have been there several times but never on a Friday night. Will go again but choose the night I go.
Great food, lasagna was the best my husband has ever had, comfortable vibe, can’t wait to go back.
Great food. The central bar setup makes it difficult to have an intimate dinner and hear your fellow diner. Loud 80's DJ during a nice Italian dinner was rough.
