About
Exceptional food, cooking that makes the most of great ingredients. Really great service, there immediately when you need them, friendly and gave useful advice about the menu. Lovely evening
We loved it! It really lived up to our expectations , having wanted to come here since it opened
The food is ok but completely overpriced and you can get much better elsewhere in London.
Lovely food in a lively atmosphere. I do prefer the small tables for 2 as opposed to the long central one, as it gets quite noisy when there’s a few groups of people. Otherwise just exceedingly lovely!
My parents were over in London for the weekend visiting for my father's 60th birthday. My sister and I brought my parents to Ottolenghi as we all love Ottolenghi and had previously had only positive experiences, and as this was a special occasion.
Our experience at Ottolenghi was truly awful. From the disappointing food to condescending servers, our dinner at Ottolenghi on Friday night really started my father's birthday trip off with a sour taste.
The cold dishes had clearly been sitting out for a long time and beyond that, the hot dishes were also very poor - from a burnt cabbage dish, to celeriac that tasted gone off, and a beef carpaccio so tough it was inedible and sent back.
To add insult to injury, when the bill came, my father was reading over it when the waiter scoffed at him and said 'God you must be like the only person who actually looks at a bill anymore', it was incredibly condescending and rude, and clearly the intention was to insult.
Our bill was high as we were celebrating and ordering a few bottles of wine (one of which was not a great recommendation) this would never have been an issue and we paid the added service charge but to only have the inedible carpaccio subtracted from the total bill and to be handled in such a rude manner was truly the final straw of a negative dining experience.
We were truly shocked and disappointed by our meal and our opinion of Ottolenghi has been completely tarnished.
Fantastic - very very good value for money. Wine bit expensive - but overall loved it. Will be back
Our second visit to this restaurant was as good as the first. The food offers something out of the ordinary. The staff are excellent. An interesting venue.
Birthday dinner. Delivered the special factor, would go again!
Always delicious food. What a genius. The restaurant is lovely and very pleasant.
The food is great, I’ve never had vegetables tase so good. Would recommend this and any of his other restaurants in town. The wait staff are very knowledgeable on the food and the wine and are great at recommendations.
We enjoyed our meal very much and will return soon!
We find the good here varies but on Saturday it was excellent good size portions and delicious, especially the cabbage....Carolina as always was marvellous.
We had a quite delicious meal, and all enjoyed ourselves very much.
Our waiter was charming and made sure we were able to get to the theatre in time.
Nice food but the quail was undercooked. Quite generous portions
Lovely food, lovely atmosphere and, above all, lovely service. Staff were attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. How dining out should be
Lovely food and good wine. We had a wonderful dinner
Wonderfully experience. Big fans of Ottolenghi’s cookbooks and the food certainly met our expectations. Our server Geo was great. Friendly and attentive. Only drawback was that seats were low for a small person to reach the table comfortably. Maybe have a few cushions available or adult booster seats!
It was a disaster, sorry to say
The starter was carpaccio and not eatable we even could not cut it We expressed our complaints but nothing was done The main was halybot and all right But to our surprise they didnt change the plates So we were supossed to eat the fish on the plates with the leftover carpaccio
We had a glas of Austrian wine but that was what they call in Austria Sturm ; so a kind of wine leftover Hendrik Geerkens and Wilma van de opleiding Wiel 00316511009287
Great food - wonderful flavours and combinations - some outside my usual comfort zone but works, and confidence that only high quality ingredients will have been used. Great relaxed ambience and excellent service.
Have eaten at Ottolenghi and thoroughly enjoyed before but this meal surpassed expectations. It has a place on the "memorable meals in my lifetime" list!
Love the restaurant. Been a few times now and ottolenghi’s food has never disappointed. Slow roasted mutton was a particular highlight of the night. Wine has always been a hit or miss unless you are prepared to spend silly money. Waiter was good however looked to have been hard pushed on the night. From out of town and this may have been first Saturday we have been which would explain how busy the restaurant was and how noisy it was. Overall still a great night.
My sisters birthday dinner. It was brilliant. The food, winę pairing and dessert all amazing :).
It was just perfect - the food was delicious, with magnificent flavour and taste. The service was really good! And the dessert...the flourless coconut cake was to die for, no exaggeration!
Excellent food and service, and so handy for the Almeida!
Great food, great staff (watchful but not over-attentive), pressure free.
great service, amazing food, we haven't been for quite a while will aim to get back soon, it is highly recommended
We regularly visit Ottolenghi when we travel to London and are never disappointed
Great Birthday experience, Ottolenghi always delivers
Fantastic restaurant! Recommend to anyone! Would recommend three mains between two and the a dessert.
Excellent hospitality; Carolina was very helpful waitress and friendly. Delicious food and environment, would highly recommend
It was Lovely and very Good food!
Amazing was the dish With the mushrooms!
Really calm atmosphere, sat in long benches with a few tables for two the restaurant is also a deli. It's a fairly casual set up and the waiting staff are very attentive. The choice of food is great and all brought out as sharing size plates and varying times. Would 100% recommend.
Found the restaurant and food to be good service good however I just donot accept that the drinks need to be so over priced completely spoiled the experience.
Service was great but food a bit of a let down. Fish was over salted and had way too much butter. Bitter asked was fine but underwhelming. Same for the mushroom dish. I’m an Ottolenghi fan but this meal was a big fail .
We enjoied a very pleasant evening. The service was great. Esp. the wine recommondation was extraordinary. If i would live here in London, this would be one of my favourite restaurants.
We are in London from New York and wanted to try restaurants in different city neighborhoods. Our experience was outstanding; it was a tasty eatery perfect for ore-theater dining.
Have wanted to visit an Ottolenghi restaurant for some time - well worth the wait! Food was superb, service attentive but not too much, wine reasonably priced. Will definitely be going again.
Really enjoyed the food, it was all delicious. The wine recommendation was spot on. Service was fantastic. Lovely evening with friends.
completely lived up to expectations.
Service was efficient without being overbearing;
Food outstanding
nice atmosphere
overall an excellent meal
The fennel starter was so hard it would have been better served with a saw to cut through it.
Squid main was absolutely tiny & incredibly salty.
Completely overpriced & overrated.
