What Insiders Are Saying
Ottolenghi is a casual restaurant and deli that serves fresh Middle Eastern-influenced food, pastries and excellent salads.
Nice but very pricey! Good attentive service though.
great food and service. Staff are always very nice
Food was fabulous. not so impressed with the selection of white wines by the glass, but will definitely visit again soon.
our favorite spot to take guests who come to town, amazing service and variety of food!
Great food, very happy that we finally know how Ottolenghi food should taste!
The only failure: my alcoholfree cocktail had not arrived when we got the food, whereas normally you would drink a cocktail before dinner... So unfortunately I canceled the order and I don't know what it tastes like.
Overall pleasant experience
Ottolenghi could be my God, I love his way of cooking and it's incredible how someone can get so much flavour in every single bite.
Excellent service by knowledgable and friendly staff. Usual, to-be-expected by Ottolenghi, outstanding food on a reasonably priced and varied menu, especially when considering the quality, culinary skill and flavours produced. Great accompanying wine list, with some lesser known producers, matching the food well. Lovely ambiance in a lively yet not overpowering atmosphere. Overall, one of the best dining experiences in memory. Highly recommended.
Amazing food?! What I like about Ottolenghi is the food is different from the norm, and all the better for it. Flavour combinations and ingredient combinations left me wondering but awesomely surprised. Highly recommended
Very nice food and helpful staff. Salads are divine!
The food was exceptional. The service was fairly marginal. We had to ask them several times to clear our plates, take our dessert order, and then when dessert came, they had mixed up two out of the five things we ordered. They additionally mixed up our coffee order.
We went for brunch to celebrate my wife's birthday that included 2 glasses of champagne. We were seated at the bar under the large skylight. My vegetarian wife felt her scrambled tofu was the best brunch she had ever had. I had the Shakshuka which was excellent. The staff were very attentive and we had a memorable morning . Thank you Ottolenghi
We sat next to YOTTAM!!!
Food was amazing and the service was top notch as well :D Thank you Claudia!
Lovely service, beautiful place and great coffee. Almond croissant was exceptional. However my food was very dissapointing. The corn polenta fritters were very under cooked and wet.
My wife's birthday. She's been vegetarian all her life. Ambience was great - proper without being rigidly starchy; service attentive without being oppressive and the food flavoursome and portion sizes appropriate. And they noted from my online booking it was a birthday and referred to the fact in their initial greeting without making a fuss about it.
Highly professional all round.
Visiting from the United States and above other places to visit in London was dining at an Ottolenghi restaurant (we own four of his cookbooks and use them in regular rotation). The food was fabulous! Rich flavors but not overly done. Portions were perfect—even was able to take some home for later. Went with my husband and mother-in-law and we all had different dishes; lamb and kebab and croquettes were divine! Stopped by the bakery side before leaving and have lots of sweet treats to try.
Food was delicious, service was hohum. Deli side of things is amazing with a friendly attendant and wonderful offerings!
Love!!!!! Doesn’t disappoint.
The food is very healthy and am sure can be amazing but on the day we ate there it was really average, especially as a tart and two salads cost £20 plus service. The service was efficient and friendly in the end but started off quite patchy.
The only negative was we had a celiac in our party and you don’t serve any gluten free bread. Apart from that we had a great brunch!
We were served two portions pretty quickly but were waiting for others to turn up far too long we ordered seven altogether). This was acknowledged to be fair and we were offered complimentary drinks but were so hungry that refused those.
Service charge was also deducted from the total so we were treated fairly I guess.
Delicious food and wonderful service. The incredible selection of cakes was also a highlight. Would highly recommend to celebrate an occasion.
It was overall a great experience which I thoroughly enjoyed. The service was amazing and the decor and the ambiance of the restaurant was just fantastic the food in my opinion was very nice, but I think it was at quite a high price point for what it was and the kebab was a little tough and overdone. I would most certainly recommend my friends to visit and sample the food themselves and loads of them have visited and disagree with me regarding the food maybe I might have
caught it on a bad day. But I don't think I'd return.
Good choice of interesting dishes on the lunchtime menu and everything was delicious. The service was really friendly and there was no problem with a couple in our group wanting to share a single meal (some restaurants refuse to allow this)
Incredibly tasty food in a smart but by no mean pretentious environment.
Highly recommended for vegetarians and meat eaters alike.
Delicious food and impeccable service at Ottolenghi Spitalfields. So hard to choose from all the wonderful dishes on the menu but our delightful waiter assisted and chose perfect wines to complement our meal.
We had a great experience here: nice interior, friendly staff and great food. Definitely worthed a visit when in London!
No, wouldn't recommend. Overpriced for very little food and apparently the burnt asparagus is 'charred'. Pretty rubbsh.
Amazing fresh food and great service in a very trendy part of London. Lots of vegetarian options. Great looking restaurant with staff that seem to want to be there. Not sure why I left it so long to go ! Would recommend booking as there were no free tables when we went. Slightly on the expensive side for me but well worth it for the food and service.
Very friendly and attentive service. Delicious food and cocktails. I especially loved the roasted padron peppers.
My second visit . My 3 friends it was a first. We ate and smiled for the whole meal. Such a treat! Really like the informal atmosphere, and the lighting. Fabulous citrus white wine but too expensive for the meagre amount per glass. A couple of good budget wines by the bottle would be appreciated.
The food was good but not as amazing as I remember. The portion size was incredibly small - 3 prawns for 14.50!
I had big expectations in terms of food - unfortunately they weren't met.
I went for fish and 2 salads - everything was cold, the waiter didn't ask if I would like the food to be warmed a bit. The fist was simply not the way it should have been.
I left half of my food on the plate. So did my friend.
Besides, the waiter brought a second bottle of water on our table without asking us if we want more and poured into our glasses taking advantage we were focused on our conversation, so we had to pay for it.
I will not go back anytime soon there.
Fantastic food!! I will definitely be back. The ingredients were fresh and the combinations delectable
Excellent food; very tasty and the salads are outstanding. Staff were helpful and very efficient.
Just a fantastic restaurant and food. I do think the bottled water is oversold (4 pound) which doesnt fit the Ottolenghi brand as such.
We went as a birthday celebration for my daughter. The food was mixed. The salads and desserts were good but the hot dishes were really disappointing. Service was rushed and food was dropped over my bag as the dishes were cleared away. Wouldn’t dine here again.
This was our second visit and it did not disappoint. Wonderful food, full of flavour and texture. Attentive staff and nice atmosphere. Highly recommend it.
Delicious food and impeccable service. Quite casual but on the pricey side. I would recommend to a friend.
We had a lovely lunch here. The desserts were delicious! And so much choice!
