Really lovely food and great value house wine, lighting could have been a little brighter but it sufficed.
Just amazing flavours
Very friendly staff and like the idea of long tables and the opportunity to meet others
Really met my expectations! Beautiful and very tasty plates of food.
Interesting dishes, beautifully cooked with a great wine list. Good service.
We Love to Stay at the Restaurant in Islington, the Food was delicious and it was really a Highlight for us. we Highly recommend it.
Sabine & Arne (Hamburg)
better at lunchtime as the decor is rather sterile. Very pleasant and attentive staff
Otto exceeded all our expectations. Tapas like menu. Easy to share. Every dish was prepared perfectly. Octopus tender. Eggplant just melts in your mouth. Service was very attentive. Seating was on a large, long table shared by many patrons.
Stylish but relaxed venue, with interesting flavoursome food and knowledgeable friendly staff
I love Ottolenghi, the flavours are always amazing and the food always cooked just right.
We are a big fan of Ottolenghi’s cook books so we decided we must visit his restaurant while visiting London. We loved every bit of the experience!
I have always wanted to go to an Ottolenghi as it has such a good reputation. I have the Ottolenghi Simple recipe book and every thing I have made has been delicious. Unfortunately all my food choices (apart from dessert) were really disappointing on Saturday although the service was very good.
A great dining experience which was not as expensive as I anticipated. A great variety of starters and mains. We ordered 7 dishes between 4 of us. It was a real treat. The staff were helpful and friendly. An overall enjoyable London dining experience for all 4 of us who are from Melbourne, Australia. Thank you.
Delicious food in a modern ambiente. I will come again!
My first visit to an Ottolenghi restaurant and was not disappointed. Excellent staff and amazing food.
Very enjoyable pre-theatre meal at Ottolenghi Islington - very good food with a great mix of tastes and textures. Tapas style allows you to really spread your options, although portions might have been a little more generous. Service was very friendly and helpful - taking us through the various options.
Dont normally eat anywhere as upmarket but a wonderful experience..great food, atmoshphere.Waitress exceptional.Got the cheapest bottle of red not keen on it
Amazing food. Every dish was delicious. Our waiter was informative and considerate.
Great restaurant a must for anyone who lives or visits London.
Amazing food for a special night out. My favourite London restaurant
My husband and I were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary. We had a lovely evening. The staff were warm and friendly, very helpful. We definitely won't wait 15 years before returning!
It was very good. Food was delicious, but not as good as in the past. The service was disappointingly indifferent.
Very enjoyable evening. Our wine waitress was very knowledgeable.
Much better than expected. Great fan of the recipes and certainly didn’t disappoint
An obligatory pilgrimage when in London. Magnificent food. There is nothing on the menu you din’t want to try. Great service. Excellent ambience.
The food was amazing and the service was brilliant. We didn't love the layout as you are very close up to other people and it's noisy.
Gritty spinach was the reason for a 4 star food comment, and the staff coping with a rude customer next to us was why there was another 4. Otherwise faultless thanks
the usual fantastic Ottolenghi. Unusual flavours creatively put together and beautifully presented with great charming service.
only downside was a noisy group whose loud voices echoed round the hard surfaced room.
Cleverly created dishes that deliver some of the most interesting combinations of flavours that I've encountered. Excellent service and the restaurant has a lively buzz. A fun ambience and great for people watching. Most seating is at large communal tables which is fine for me but maybe not everyone.
The food is always sheer bliss at Ottolenghi Islington and my last visit was no exception. This time the standout for me was a mackerel dish. I can't even remember what it was exactly: just that I was very, very sad when the plate was empty. Only 4 stars on this visit, though, because the service -- as friendly and well-informed as ever -- was unusually inattentive.
Always great flavours and perfect portion sizes to share.
Amazing food, great selection on the menu and very helpful staff. Too much to choose from but nice to be able to order in a sharing fashion. Great birthday treat for my partner- was very much enjoyed by both of us.
I’d been looking forward to my meal at Ottolenghi for months. It’s a great place to eat before a theatre experience at the Almeida Theatre. The cold dishes at the front of the restaurant are all delicious and healthy. This time I tried the cured trout and the juniper infused watermelon. They were full of flavor and a very unique mix of flavors. Then I had the octopus hot dish and it was fantastic. The sweet corn, chili, and octopus had a great mix of textures and flavors on the palate. Excellent wine list and service as well. I hope to make Ottolenghi and the theatre a regular treat!
It was a dream come true to learn that the Plenty, Plenty More, and Jerusalem cookbooks we own, have a real place - Love the food so much, pricey for veggies, but paying for the experience .
Food and service were excellent. Really enjoyed the octopus and corn cakes
gorgeous place, high level food wine at right price
I have all the cookbooks at home but this was my first time dining in, absolutely beautiful and definitely lived up to my expectations!
Food great and tasty. So it should be at the prices

Portions not large but superb quality food !
Loved it... want to return..
Beautiful place, good food! Highly recommended Blablabla
Delicious food served small plates style. Attentive and fast service. Expensive but expected price for Islington Upper Street.
