Fantastic food and service in a delightful ambience. It’s not inexpensive - but well worth the cost when you’re searching for an exceptional evening.

Nice food in a slightly tired room. Excellent wine. Suspect the pressed duck would have been a better bet than a la carte

Fantastic food, wonderful service (we had to wait a little while, but honestly the food was worth it). I've had food in Michelin starred places which wasn't as good. Expensive, but if you like spending a bit of money for great food you should come here.

In the quirky surroundings of the restaurant, at a table set with immaculate white linen and elegant glasses, every mouthful was a delightful and unexpected experience - from the baked scallops to the Crepes Suzette served with the added touch of a peach in the centre and the most delicious sauce! The Tournedos Rossini, cooked in traditional style and served on a rosti, with a lightly seared duck's liver on top was superb. Best of all was the relaxed atmosphere and the enjoyment of other guests, particularly of those who had ordered the pressed duck and who took part in the ritual performance of cooking and serving it with good humour and style. It was an evening to remember most of all for the bonhomie of the host and his team who attended to us, as to all guests, with care and attention. We will be back when next in London!

This is a delicious fine! Little tiny French bistro, the food matches this service. Definitely order the lobster bisque and you need to pre-order ahead depressed duck. You cannot mess, a genuine French restaurant.

It was brilliant, just what we expected. The entire operation is a long rectangular space, with the kitchen and chefs visible, working in the back. While it was great to be able to see the chefs at work, there was a surprisingly raucous, loud conversation drifting in from the kitchen - some of it directed at/ perhaps discussing the diners. I’ve given this review 5 stars, as it wasn’t really a bother, but it did jar with the overall experience and service by the waiters, who were both lovely.

A wonderful venue for a special occasion. Exceptional, imaginative food, served with style and a little theatricality. Feels like a little piece of Paris hidden away in Holborn. Highly recommended.

An unforgettable restaurant with an exceptional host, the eponymous Otto. If you want a truly unforgettable evening of gutsy classic French cooking with big flavours in a traditional setting, this is the place to be. Otto’s feels warm and welcoming. The wine list is strong in great Bordeaux and Burgundy reds and whites, that are the prefect accompaniment to the generous dishes. A real treat!

I eat fairly often at Otto's, sometimes alone, regularly with my partner and occasionally with clients for lunch.
My last visit was a business lunch with colleagues and clients for 6, everyone of us had a fabulous meal, the service was impeccable, the menu seasonal and interesting and the quality of the cooking was excellent.

We didn't order à la carte (which looked great), but reserved ahead for the unique Otto's experience - duck à la presse. Served by Otto himself, the duck was prepared at the table with a clear explanation of what was happening. You do NOT need a separate starter with this dish! Liver on brioche to start was delicious, perfectly sized, and accompanied by chilled Sauternes dessert wine. The star of the show was the thinly sliced breast with the special sauce, which was sublime, the sauce having attained a rich, almost chocolatey flavour and a perfect clinging consistency that lightly enveloped the meat. The pommes soufflées with the breast were amazing - light and crisp and puffy and just salted enough. The leg meat was also delicious (although not as special as the breast) and we just had room for a dessert - grand marnier soufflé with raspberries was heavenly and the quince tarte tatin was pretty good too. The wine list is not the cheapest, but overall we had the most fantastic evening.

If you’re into great French cuisine that’s the place to go. Very good wine list definitely not overpriced. Very attentive service though always respecting privacy. Bear in mind - this is not a modern uberchic glamorous place but rather a traditional restaurant...nothing wrong with that in my opinion.
Champagne cocktail, sweetbreads, tartare, soufflé all excellent. Oh...and did I mention the wine list.... !!!

This could be grossly unfair, just giving them 3*. What they did they did very, very well. It's just 4 of the 5 of us didn't love what they did! If you want to dine like you're at Maison Escoffier in 1930s Paris, then this is for you. Problem is that my tastes have evolved and I like more modern, lighter cuisine. As I said - if this is what you're after, then it gets a banging 5*. Prices are reasonable and the wine list moderately priced for the quality of its offerings; great selection too. Every dish was faultless - although I found the tartare to be a little bland and fatty. The pig's trotter was up to Mr Koffman himself and my wife's lamb rack the stand out dish. Service was sharp and precise, if a little unfriendly; once again, the culinary world has largely evolved from silver service to a more informal approach. Overall, £630 for 5 with 5 very decent bottles of wine so - not too bad. A real experience - just know what to expect.
