Fish was excellent as you would expect from Nathan Outlaw. Good value lunch menu and lovely wine list. Sides really let down the meal. Beautiful delicate fish served with a side order of crispy potatoes which honestly resembled potato wedges, very bizarre!
Excellent service and was delighted to see Camel Valley wines on the list too.

I thought the food was excellent, we’ll cooked, well presented, my girlfriend is coeliac and was extremely well accommodated (best gluten free bread she’s ever had apparently!) My only slight gripe would be the portion sizes of the tasting menu, I would have liked more it was so tasty! The service was excellent, very friendly, attentive (but not unnnecessarily so), smart but not imposing environment, all in all a very pleasant experience. Highlight was the John Dory, cooked to absolute perfection.

We both ate from the lunch set menu, which is very good value. Soup outstanding and fish as you’d expect perfectly cooked.

The whole package is very enjoyable. The bar area is perfect for a pre-lunch or dinner drink. The staff are very professional but on our second visit the maitre d’ was exceptional. He was meticulous at the same time being really good fun. Good food great staff what’s not to like-and it’s air conditioned!

Fantastic cooking. The ‘seemingly simple but you know a ton of work has gone into it’ flavour combinations you expect from Nathan outlaw - but without the 6 hour drive to Cornwall

We had a lovely lunch here. The bar served us beautifully presented G&Ts in bowl glasses with the usual nibbles. The Cornish sparkling wine would beat any French champagne, although the waiter served the tasting portion to my brother in law and then forgot to top up his glass. He was very put out so my sister had to fetch the wine waiter back promptly!
The fish and accompaniments were excellent as were the deserts. I especially liked the little extras they brought to the table at the start and end of the meal. Overall, a really memorable lunch. Thank you!
Food outstanding but bar service left a lot to be desired , expensive bottles of wine with corks but not given opportunity to taste before being poured into2 glasses
Absolutely amazing and completely satisfying
Lovely restaurant with great food. The ewes curd dumplings with celeriac was superb and we had tasty cocktails to start. Staff were knowledgable about the food and the Irish waitress was very attentive and showed an interest in her customers. Definitely be back on my next trip from Scotland to London
Tucked away behind Harrods we had a very relaxing lunch, nice and quiet, good food and service.
The standard was never the same after I think it was Pete Biggs who moved on. Was not a fan of Tom Brown's food. There was also a different atmosphere about the restaurant which seemed less welcoming. Andrew Sawyer has now taken over. Perhaps too soon to judge whether things will change so will probably leave it a while before returning to allow him time to develop own style/standard. That is not to say the food is not good but now getting a little pricey even for the set lunch at £39 and the reduction in the Thursday BYO allowance also makes it a little less attractive (by comparison with Kitchen W8 anyway). Still an enjoyable experience and must end with a note of thanks to the lovely front of house staff (hotel and kitchen).
This was my second visit to Outlaws, and once again, it did not disappoint. The food overall was imaginative and 2 star quality, and the service was attentive, without being intrusive. My friend, who I’d taken out for her birthday, was highly impressed and was talking about booking Outlaws very soon. What higher recommendation is needed?

We had a five course tasting menu.
4/5 of the courses were lovely but myself and my partner were disappointed with the Bass,port,Isaac sauce dish which we both found to be very bland. This dish was tasteless.
However the other courses especially the octopus were delicious.
My wife booked a table for part of my 50th birthday celebrations.
What a great choice.
We received a warm welcome and were shown into the cosy bar where we enjoyed a couple of drinks before being taken through to the restaurant by the first of many pleasant and cheerful staff who all give the impression that they are part of a team that enjoy what they are doing.
We started with oysters washed down with cornish sparkling wine then decided on the 3 courses (for £62 a bargain )
I opted for the starter of the day (mackerel done 2 ways )and my wife for the cured monkfish. Both dishes were beautiful.
We moved on to brill and cod for our mains which were both cooked to perfection and in no way overpowered by there accompaniments.
I don't often go for sweet but the temptation of the honey and custard tart with quince and the most magnificent gingerbread ice cream was too much to resist and did not disappoint.
Just to add a nice touch to our evening the kitchen produced a plate with a small cake and candle as a surprise for my husbands birthday.
Everything about this establishment was outstanding and special mention to the Irish waitress who added to a very relaxed evening with her pleasant chat throughout the night.
We have not been to the Outlaw before so relied on their website and reviews which were spot on. Nice cosy relaxed atmosphere as part of the Capital Hotel. Nice bar area for a pre-lunch G & T. Friendly staff, excellent food, comprehensive wine list. All in all a very enjoyable lunch.
Only comment is the restaurant area is smaller than it looks in the pictures which means it is quiet and quite formal. Have already recommended it to friends.
Excellent from the first moment to the last. Food, setting, service all perfect.
We had the tasting menu and all dishes were really good. However, it was a bit scant for the price, an extra dish or slightly bigger portions would have made this a perfect experience instead of a very good experience.
My husband and I took a very dear friend here for a late lunch as a birthday treat. It was the perfect location before walking to the Albert Hall later on that evening. We enjoyed wonderful cocktails and mocktails in the bar first and then enjoyed a delicious meal.
Great food, if you're looking for a fine dining seafood experience. Otherwise take a pass - absolutely dead atmosphere. I mean dead - no ambiance and we were 2 of four people in the entire restaurant (seats 50 or so). Would not recommend for anyone or any occasion with participants under 65yrs.
My wife and I had a really nice lunch. The ambience was very good and staff attentive but not overly. Our main course was 'lost' in the kitchen - fortunately we were not on a tight schedule - but to compensate an intermediate (soup) course was offered, and accepted; and wine was not charged for. We did not expect or request free wine and this was a nice gesture.
We would visit again.
The Capital Hotel has always been a “hidden gem” with fine food. The latest partnership with Nathan Outlaw is no exception. The quality of our evening from the moment we arrived in the bar ( excellent cocktails by the way !) to the end of the meal was exceptional. It, of course, should be as it is not a cheap evening but it delivered in every way. Top marks for a special occasion.
A very nice experience dining here. Whilst the surroundings are very elegant they still manage to maintain a pleasant, almost informal, atmosphere. The menus were intriguing - we went for the Autumn menu and the food was excellent. The courses were perhaps a bit big for us and we couldn't manage a dessert!
A very pleasant experience, and it is great to be able to supply your own wine at a moderate corkage. Food was excellent and service was first class

Had a great set menu if i had to pick a fault ( which i do not want to ) the treacle pudding wasnt sickly enough . The staff were fantastic and me and my wife loved the whole experience .
We had a wonderful visit. Drinks in the bar; the food; the wine; the waiting staff, were all excellent. Could not fault a thing.
Service was impeccable; staff were polite and attentive. The lunch menu was enticing however overall food was quite rich. The dessert was not nice, far too sweet, not as described and difficult to eat as the outer layer was hard. Both my guest and I left ours. Staff were on the ball immediately asking if we wished to try another dessert and deducted the price from the overall bill. I would , however, return.
Friend and I lunched well. The food was absolutely sublime, wonderfully plated, and very much Michelin star standard. The oysters were the plumpest I have eaten for some time, while my friend's lobster risotto was the best he has tasted. His bass was cooked to perfection and the sauce was unctuous. My monkfish was cured well and the brill ever so slightly undercooked but not worth sending back. The English custard tart was a triumph. Could not fault the food.
Whereas, the service bordered on that in a pizza joint. The waitress brought the starters and asked who ordered what. The main course was delivered to the adjoining table where two Knightsbridge matrons were enjoying their post-prandial coffees. Did the waitress really think they were wanting fish for a second dessert? Not good. The management need to take this in hand. In this type of restaurant one expects the plate to be placed in front of you without questions. Shame.

One of the best experiences I have had in a restaurant. Cannot fault it, food was unbelievable, staff were brilliant.
