Outlaw's Fish Kitchen
Wherever possible we buy the best fish from local inshore day boats that are certified by the Responsible Fishing Scheme. We are proud of our local fishermen who land fresh fish and shellfish daily and work using low impact fishing methods that preserve our marine environment.
Our best meal in Cornwall. The didn't have any lobster in but it forced us to try a number of dishes off the menu which were delicious. Fabulous! We will check out the London restaurant next.
Lovely food but it is criminal to charge 50 pounds for a bottle of portugese alvarinho ( that retails under 10).
If you enjoy fish you must go here.
We had the sharing plates - one of everything. Each was great but the brill was standout
I tried to cancel this booking on numerous occasions through Open Table, but the automated system would not let me. I'm sure Outlaw's Fish Kitchen is wonderful, but I have no idea, because I never went. I eventually managed to find their website and emailed them my cancellation, but even now in sending me a chance to review the restaurant, Open Table believe I attended. I therefore have to give Open Table only 1 star, for an absolute failure in the service they purport to supply. The single star is for a successful booking in the first place, but thereafter, their service was distinctly lacking. I know how successful Outlaw's Fish Kitchen is, hence booking an August table back in April. I was very concerned that I rob other diners of the treat, once I knew I couldn't attend two weeks before, but Open Table consistently prevented me from cancelling the booking. The highly restricted nature of the form they are here allowing me to fill in, does not ask me about Open Table, only about the restaurant, hence my filling out this part.
Front of house team were excellent. The food was good but for me not quite as tasty as last year. Maybe it was just down to the seasoning.
Unhappy you could not have a drink while you waited for your table. Specials board not kept up to date. Desserts not available as advertised on menu.
Went on holiday in Port Isaac but booked up for our wedding anniversary. Husband not a good fish eater but he loved every course that came our way, much to my dismay as I thought I would have been eating more. Had four courses plus the best ever minted potatoes I have ever eaten and also had the half lobster. The staff were very helpful they explained every dish and were very attentive. Wish there was a one nearer home bit far to travel to Cornwall all the time. Would definitely recommend but book so you have a table.
Good menu, good food. Blimey those plates add up though once you get the bill!
As delicious as the dishes were, these are high prices for small portions. Think a better balance could be found between price and portion size to warrant a top review.
The most delicious, perfectly cooked seafood I have ever eaten. Visited twice now and highly recommend it to anyone.
Absolutely stunning setting overlooking the beautiful harbour' gorgeous old building, very quaint lovely feeling before you even start eating! The staff are brilliant, very friendly and helpful and the service was fab, very quick but slow enough to explain the dishes. Now to the food, anyone who likes their fish will be in heaven! We had the taster menu to share, six absolutely gorgeous fish dishes with sourdough toast and the most incredible chips! Best I've ever tasted! There were also two amazing desserts including the best chocolate brownie I've had! I would recommend this place to anyone who is a fish lover, brilliant place!
Another excellent lunch with superb food and friendly professional service in a fab atmosphere. Thank you and see you again soon.
Excellent food and friendly relaxed service.
Really good value for food of this quality.
Looking forward to my next visit
Treat whilst on holiday in Cornwall. Couldn't fault our lunch and the service was friendly and professional.
Had dinner here with family while on holiday. The food was outstanding, unusual fish tapas dishes, cooked to order and with fabulous flavour combinations. The restaurant is tiny but very stylish and the staff were friendly and attentive. We loved the monkfish satay, but all the dishes were quite amazing.
Would definitely recommend it.
Charming little setting and beautifully decorated internally to make the limited space welcoming light and airy. An ambitious but simple menu, expertly delivered in terms of quality, service and creativity.
We opted for the taster menu and every choice was delicious. Lovely fresh fish in a beautiful location. Well worth a visit - you can see why it is so popular.
We ate here on a busy Friday night and we could not have enjoyed it more. The staff were very welcoming and happy to explain the menu & specials board and to advise on the number of dishes we should order. Highlights were the monkfish satay, the plaice and baked hake all of which were beautifully cooked and melted in the mouth. The chunky chips on the side were great as well. We shared 5 fish dishes in total (plus a portion of chips each) plus cheese which was enough.
Service was attentive but not intrusive and the atmosphere was relaxed & informal.
Highly recommended but do book to avoid disappointment!
Took a visit to the Fish Kitchen during our holiday last week. Love the 'tapas' style dining, spread our meal out fantastically and allowed us to appreciate each dish. Fabulous. Would visit again.
Relaxed little restaurant serving great fish dishes!
My wife and I chose the Fish Kitchen menu to share where you receive a selection of the chef's favourite dishes from that day's menu. We also went with the wine recommendation. Every dish was superb and the wine paired extremely well with each separate dish.....amazing! Some of the ingredient combinations appear strange at first but, trust me, they all work exceptionally well. On top of the first class food, the service is excellent, friendly and efficient without being intrusive, as can be the case in some restaurants of this calibre. The ambience is relaxed, warm and cosy. Overall, a real stunner! One note of caution, you will need to book a table, it is that popular.
Our second visit here- love the quirky informality and great service. The food is excellent but as it is almost fish tapas then you have to accept that the dishes arrive when they are ready!!
The outlaws fish kitchen to share was truly outstanding. The fish we ate just melted In our mouths it was so delicious we did not want it to end. And the desserts were just divine. what a brilliant idea to serve two different desserts so both can share each one . Absolutely yummy .
The staff were excellent , we were not rushed and we left the restaurant with massive smiles on our face. We will be back .
From start to finish, the waiting staff were both friendly and knowledgeable. They made us feel welcome and relaxed throughout the evening, they explained the menu and the idea behind it which added to the experience. The food was excellent and well worth the money all in all this was a great evening and exactly the holiday treat we were looking for .
We had the most enjoyable lunch. The combination of flavours in the small plates were exquisite . We all thought we wouldn't like mackerel with orange but it was one of our favourites. The waitressing staff were attentive and friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. The recommended wine was one of the best we have tasted.
We went for my birthday and it really made the day.
This tiny restaurant on the harbourside in Port Isaac served us with the freshest and most delicious fish we have ever tasted. Our absolute favourite was Port Isaac lobster (you can see the lobster pots across the narrow street outside) and fabulous chunky chips but everything else was wonderful, with a special mention for the delicate lemon sole and the monkfish lollipops.
Fish is the star here of course but the puddings were fabulous too, as was the selection of wine which included several local options.
Service was informal, friendly but well-informed.
Wonderful food and a very enjoyable evening.
Small grazing dishes, exquisite local fish, unique creativity, quayside cottage ambience, spot-on service. Desserts too, and nice wines.
We followed the waitresses advice and all went for the Outlaws Fish Kitchen to share which is a great way to try several dishes and very good value for money. We all enjoyed the dishes and all agreed that it was first class food and very helpful staff who explained is dish as it was served.
This is a very small restaurant in the middle of Port Isaac.
The fish dishes were great, small portions like tapas to share.
The chips were beautiful and crispy.
if your not a fish eater, this is a great way to try small bites.
didn't rate the dessert - this is all about the fish!
This was our first meal and it was our wedding anniversary. Excellent meal and service and would recommend to anyone.
We have visited this fabulous sea food restaurant since the week it opened and this last visit just confirms why we keep coming back, great food , great service , the flavour combinations are amazing . Our daughter (12)has grown up on good food and adores this place , but they can and will accommodate children who are less adventurous .
My only complaint is that we have to travel 300 miles to eat there.
We are looking forward to our next visit
Delicious food - everything cooked and presented beautifully. What more could you ask for? Couldn't believe that pickled herring could be so delicious!
We walked from Polzeath to Port Isaac to enjoy this early evening meal but were unprepared for the muddiness of the walk. Worried that the restaurant might not want to welcome us (as we were also 10 minutes late!), Ian, our server, put our fears to rest and we had a lovely time. The food was outstanding and it was an evening to remember. Steve the taxi driver was also lovely!
Brilliant food, great staff, amazing location and all in all a perfect night out. Highly recommended.
Worth the 2hr round trip from home. Delicious and innovative combinations of the freshest local fish, with a twist. If you love sashimi this place is for you. Small plates of food that inspire and surprise. Smallest loo in the world!
Cosy, yet fresh atmosphere creating a warm ambience. Excellent friendly yet efficient service. Tapas style plates of fair size giving chance to try different fish and flavour all well created.
This was a fabulous dining experience especially if like me your new to fish eating. It was all delicious. The restaurant have creatively used their space to great effect. A big 👍🏻👍🏻
We had the most amazing meal - my husband and I chose the 'Outlaws Fish Kitchen to Share' and at £42.50 pp was really good value for money. There were a couple of plates I would not have ordered from the main menu if choosing individually but I am so glad they came with the sharing plates because each and every one of them were delicious! I have been singing the restaurants praises since our visit last Saturday and am already trying to plan a return visit to Cornwall just to be able to indulge in these culinary delights again!! The restaurant itself is small and quirky but it just adds to the ambience and the staff were all very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive but not intrusive. Thank you all!!
My wife and I chose to eat at the much less formal Fish Kitchen, owned by Nathan Outlaw and were really impressed. The venue was small and cosy and the staff achieved a great balance of informing us about the food and being attentive - but not overly so.
The food was excellent - small plates and ideal for sharing. We had a range of fish dishes, all of which were excellently cooked. We really liked that the food came out when it was ready and we then ordered a little more, and so on. It made for a really sociable event set around some great food at reasonable prices.
We were out of season, but at other times, I imagine booking ahead will be essential.
Charming setting just back from original landing jetty You will have to park at the top of the village in designated car park Easy stroll down thro village with a decent workout back up after your meal
Lovely choice of fish tapas with prompt service Good choice of appropriate wines to go with the food The dishes were freshly cooked each with a different twist to suit the fish Great atmosphere overall & suggest you all visit the W/C to see the definition of "bijou" Suspect you will be well advised to ring ahead with such a small venue Well worth it & will be back again
