The staff were friendly and attentive but the venue was small and not very ambiant for a romantic meal. The food was very overpriced and mediocre in quality. I would not attend another restaurant in the future. I was very disappointed as this was my partners birthday and a celebration of our engagement.

We were very unimpressed with the actual restaurant itself within the Hotel as it was very dull and unimaginative in the décor, had absolutely no atmosphere and rather 'cheap looking'. We could have been in an airport restaurant!
However, that aside, we had the most delightful waitress who was very knowledgeable and helpful and another nice touch was that the menu had our party name on the top and they had a separate menu for the member of our party whom had some 'free from' allergies.
The food was excellent and all in all was a very pleasant evening. We learnt that Nathan Outlaw was moving from the Hotel to Port Isaac so let's hope they decorate the restaurant well and give it some atmosphere.
It was a shame that we were the only diners during our visit. Service by Kelly was excellent, unobtrusive, and very professional. Food was superb and well suggested by Kelly. The location is good with great views over the Camel estuary. Will certainly visit again.
We love eating at Outlaws because it is so relaxed and friendly as well as serving brilliant food.
The staff are unfailingly courteous and cheerful - smiles go a long way , and they always seem genuinely happy to chat and talk to customers.
This was our third visit of the year... And we'll be back again in 2016.

Had another great lunch here for our a min ersatz and food and service was a real treat. Waiter even arranged for Nathan to be messaged to check a recipe for us we had tried previously and wanted to have a try at making ourselves- fantastic!
I booked this for a birthday treat - paid £60 for a taxi to / from Padstow and was looking forward to the sort of dining experience I had enjoyed in a central Padstow restaurant a few years before.
I was sadly disappointed. There was zero atmosphere - very few diners and this was very much a functional hotel restaurant rather than a dining experience. Staff were polite, pleasant, willing but not the efficient, unobtrusive machine I'd come to expect from a restaurant of this standard - I had to chase for a glass of wine, very little interest in helping with wine or food selections, waited a long time for plates to be cleared etc.
I had mentioned it was my birthday when I booked, and again when I arrived - no acknowledgement, not even a "happy birthday" In other establishments, they do small things to make it feel like an event.
Food was "nice" but didn't have any wow factor. It felt like a waste of a lot of money, especially when they neglected to take off my Grub Club discount - unfortunately after a few wines, I didn't notice till after we left.
I won't be returning or recommending this establishment. It was not an occasion, just a dinner !

This was our first experience at Nathan Outlaws, loved it & would go again as it makes for a special evening dining. Plenty to choose from the 3 course menu, great food combinations & a tasteful delight.
Service & attention to detail by a french gentleman who attended our needs commendable - a real pleasure.
Will definitely recommend it to family & friends - will look forwards to trying out their set lunch.
This was a combined visit to the hotel spa and lunch. The spa massage was a treat for my wife, the manicure was for my daughter and lunch afterwards was for all three of us. The spa was super and our lunch was really excellent. We have been before and the service was as professional as ever. Interested staff and a lovely setting overlooking the estuary.
The selection of wines by the glass includes some very good wines and the whole experience was great fun, very relaxing and a super way to start the week on holiday.
We visited Outlaws for my wife's birthday dinner. We arrived early and had cocktails on the terrace (mid October!), followed by an exceptional dinner. Everything was spot on, staff were attentive but not fussing over us, the food was totally delicious and the final bill not outrageous. Then a romantic trip across the Camel on the water taxi back to Padstow. I would definitely recommend Outlaws for a great dining experience.
We went to Outlaw's to celebrate our anniversary. The whole experience was very good with good service and as expected superb food. Look forward to trying Nathan's other places.
The team at Outlaws just keep pushing the standard bar higher. Once again we've enjoyed a perfect evening. Very well done!
We have been coming to Rock for several years now and first experienced the restaurants at the St Enedoc about 5 years ago. We always preferred the food and atmosphere in the grill (now Outlaws) to the fine dining restaurant.
It has now become one of our regular eating places and the food is always outstanding.
I would also like to commend Jorge and his team for their excellent service, always a friendly welcome.
Looking forward to our next visit.
The St Enodoc hotel was a bit too sparse and modern for my taste
. However the food was excellent. Next time we will go down to Port Issac to Nathan's other restaurant
Outstanding views from our table on the terrace, already organised by the staff as the weather was glorious. And so the scene was set. Our lovely happy waitress offered the a la carte and set menus and we chose the latter as I had enjoyed the food so much earlier this Summer with French friends, who loved it. The set lunch menu was superb! Mouthwatering mackerel, plump fish, crisp skin and fresh from the sea. The main course cod was again beautifully and perfectly cooked and presented, accompanied by field mushrooms and broccoli spear - perfect portion, generous tranche of fish. To finish, 0ur apple creme brûlée was just wonderful. We enjoyed a well priced carafe of white wine to complement this perfect meal on a stunning September day in Cornwall.
We celebrated our silver wedding anniversary at Outlaws. Great food and ambience with excellent and friendly service from Emma. We will return when back in Cornwall
Thoroughly enjoyed our meal at outlaws. The starters and main courses were outstanding. Not so the dessert , having opted for the bake well tart we waited more than 20 minutes which underwhelmed when it arrived.
The ambience was spoilt by excessive noise , amplified by the stone floors and lack of soft furnishings , the two large parties at adjacent tables were extremely noisy making normal conversation difficult to hear.
However the fish dishes were cooked to perfection!
Our meal started well, but the dining room became very noisy when a group of 8 and another group of 6 arrived. In order to continue our conversation we had to leave our table and have coffee in the lounge. Another couple even moved to the lounge to have their dessert, so it wasn't just us being over-sensitive.
Beautiful setting , Michelin Star food at a great price. Staff are second to none warm and friendly ready to answer any question regarding the food or wine, or happy to stay quietly in the back ground allowing you to enjoy your evening. If we only lived closer we would dine here every week.

Enjoyed a fabulous al fresco lunch at Oulaws at St Enodoc. The £25 3-course set lunch was beautifully presented & tasted divine. The service provided by Jorge & the waiting staff was excellent, & we even had a visit from chef Tom Brown.
we enjoyed a totally delicious lunch, our waitress was informed, polite, genuine and gracious. My elderly in-laws were beautifully looked after and the restaurant went out of it's way to ensure their comfort.
We have had Sunday lunch at Outlaw's several times now. It is a nice way to spend Sunday looking over at the estuary watching the tide go out. It is a pleasant place to be.
Each time we have been the meal has been very good. The staff are attentive and courteous. We also like to take coffee and petit four in the sitting room just to finish off our visit.
We have joined the Outlaw's Grub Club which is an insentive to keep going. It would be nice if the set lunch menu changed a bit more. A very enjoyable lunch as usual.
First visit to Outlaws when on a holiday as a couple of foodies who know of its reputation, we were not disappointed. The food, service , ambience etc. were all excellent. The red mullet starter and greymullet, octopus dish fir main were both superb. Both ouddings were also excellent, the peach melba and chocolate torte. Our first visit and orobably not our last albeit other restaurants in the Outlaws empire may be tried first !
We had an excellent meal. My only complaint would be it was a little cold because all the doors open. We chose to sit inside because it was immediately apparent it was chilly when booking in. For me I prefer a more intimate and warm feeling, that said I loved the decor, staff were excellent. Time on arrival to bread on the table could have been a bit quicker considering it wasn't too busy, but that's because we had a later lunch and were hungry.
I would defiantly return, the setting is beautiful.

My wife and I really enjoyed our weekday lunch at Outlaw's. Service was attentive and friendly and the food excellent. My wife has a shellfish allergy which I had notified when booking and they had gone to the trouble of printing for her a special menu with substitute dishes accordingly.
Attentive (but not overly so) service. Excellent choice of cocktails mixed by a specialist on arrival - the Outlaw's G&T was sublime. Food choice as you'd expect from someone of Outlaw's standing, using only locally sourced food. My wife and I took our 16 year old son, and I wasn't totally sure he'd be up for some of the choices on the menu (his favourite meal still being beans on toast followed by weetabix!), but he adored the mackerel starter and beef main.
All in all a fabulous night out. My only contention is that service is added to the bill at 10% (would have happily offered a 10% tip anyway - but would appreciate the choice)
We have been to Outlaws on several occasions, both as a group and as a twosome. This time we went with four other friends and it was as brilliant as ever. The food is exceptional and the service is unfailingly friendly and professional. We had a thoroughly relaxed and happy evening! Roll on the next time!
So disappointing with the food, starter was barely warm, mains were cold. Although waitress was cheerful our concerns went inheeded and at no time were we asked about this. Major let down go to river cottage full marks all round to Hugh and crew
This far exceeded our expectations, when we arrived the waitress got the menus and took us to our table. My husband is coeliac which i let them know on booking and my husband had his own menu with his name on it. The service was excellent, our waitress was very friendly. Food was really lovely, much better than I thought it would be. We wasn't rushed we just took our time and admired the lovely view from the restaurant. We took our son and daughter-in-law as a special treat and we all had a fabulous experience, will we go back? A big YES, can't wait. THANK YOU TO THE STAFF FOR A FAB EVENING.
We ate here for our anniversary. The food and atmosphere was great . Only criticism was the staff seemed overstretched.
We enjoyed a long leisurely lunch on the terrace at this restaurant in late August. The service was excellent, the view beautiful and the food divine.
Rather than plough the Rick Stein furrow in Padstow we decided to make the crossing to Rock to visit Nathan Outlaw's. What a great decision. Spectacular food - modern concepts with superb execution. Service was exemplary. The experience was difficult to fault.
The cooking mediocre, the ambiance tired, the ingredients different to the menu, the only relieving feature was the service which was attentative as there were only three tables taken. Very disappointing and very poor value for money
Had a brilliant evening taking my parents out for dinner, the staff accommodated this, and went above and beyond to make the whole experience that bit extra special! We all had a fantastic time, and shall be returning in the future. The food was beautiful, and could have chosen anything from the seasonal menu. All staff who served us were amazing, and assisted greatly in making the evening what it was- Kelly you were fantastic, the gentleman (from Newzealand ) who served us from the bar was also second to none, to name just a couple.
I shall be recommending this restaurant to all of my friends and family, and therefore would just like to say Thank you!
High quality food that is offerd at a fair proce, matched with wonderful attemtive quality service, you are never disapointed with a Nathan Outlaw meal, love his approach to food, simple, interesting full of flavour and of the highjest quality, if the waethers nice you even get to make the most of the view of the Camel Estuary - Lunch offers more menu options with a range of prices but that said evening menu is well priced in my view for what you get
Rick stein, eat your heart out! Fish is Outlaws, superb.
We were made to feel very special throughout our experience at Outlaws Restaurant, St Enodoc hotel. The staff were immediately warm and welcoming and nothing was too much for them, a personalised gluten free menu has already been prepared in advance so I could easily choose my meal safely. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable about the food, what it contained and how it had been prepared which was impressive. The little touches such as the mackerel pate and delicious petit fours set off the whole night and added to the sense of indulgence and luxury. The food was first class, truly delicious and beautifully presented. We were impressed from start to finish and it made our 3rd wedding anniversary and very special and memorable one.
