Worst service in london
An extremely large dining room that had only a few tables filled whilst we were dining leading to a lack of atmosphere. This did mean that service was very good.
Food looked appetising and was tasty , although portions were small. My companion had sea bass... no where near large enough to satisfy a hungry man even with the addition of two sides.
Desserts were well presented, my creme brûlée had no toasted sugar topping so in my book wasn't a true brûlée; however the Yule log was exceptional especially if you're a bit of a chocolate fiend!
We were a little confused by the small plate option to start with but before ordering we asked our server to explain it to us and now we know that they are portions that are sized between a starter and main course. We were a table of 7, with a mixture of ages and dietary requirements. The food was delicious, everyone had something different, the pork belly and the foxy chips were my favorite.
The server was attentive and the food arrived quickly. It was an early Sunday evening, so the restaurant was very quiet but was starting to fill up as we were leaving.
We also had drinks in the bar whilst waiting for our table and that was lovely. Comfortable arm chairs, great staff and table service.
I would definitely go back again and recommend.
Nice food at excellent value with the pre- theater menu.
Service was absolutely charming. Thank you to the lovely young man from Munich!
Great dinner experience, loved the food.
Hands down the best Brunch I've been to, I've been twice already and will definitely be going again. Everything is great. I highly recommend it.
Went for breakfast with 2 friends. Both were very grateful to be introduced to the establishment. I was also proud to have chosen OXBo for the bottomless brunch, because it delivered exactly what was expected and above.
Our waiter was not great at understanding English but overall the food and ambiance was wonderful
Good staff attending to our needs - food was tapas based which I wasn't expecting but still reasonable. Soft drinks are a little too expensive though. However staff v courteous and great at sorting out a cheese board and birthday plate for us.
Today’s experience at Oxbo Bankside was unforgettable. There was a slight mix up with our table reservation, however management were swift and professional in ensuring we remaining stress-free and seated us without delay!
We had the choice of 3 or 5 dishes on the menu and was pleasantly impressed by the flavours of food, elaborate presentation and not to mention the delightful waiter. We were fortunate to be waited on by Kamal Kamal who pleasantly greeted us upon arrival, his execution was fabulous and stayed attuned to our needs throughout our time dining!
We would definitely recommend Oxbo Bankside, however do ensure you book at least 3 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment. Reservations are booked promptly
Asked for booking at half 5, I then received a phone call saying they had pushed my meal back to 6 due to overcrowding. It wasn’t due to overcrowding it was so that they could charge 105 per head for a buffet instead of a regular meal. Extremely disappointed as this is not what I wanted or would even consider paying for a buffet, took over 2 hours to find another restaurant. Ruined the evening, would not recommend.
Birthday amazing food and attentive staff
Kamal was extra helpful and very informative throughout the meal. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the food on offer was delicious! Will be back very soon!
Great food (and lots of it) and service. Really loud tho!
Went for Sunday Brunch. Starters, open kitchen menu and desserts were amazing and wide selections. Minor point no sauce provided for the Yorkshire pudding, after asked they only have beef jus. It’s too noisy with the busy crowd and live music, unable to chat without shouting. Overall very good food and value for money. Ambience could be better.
Far, far, far too noisy with the unpleasant live music.
Absolutely lovely restaurant. Service was fantastic and the food was great quality and value for money. The decor was very interesting and made a great setting for a romantic night out.
Nice steaks!! Lovely venue but a little empty so not so much atmosphere as I might of liked, but it was Jan!
We booked the dinner for new year eve, but very disappointed by the food....
Food is really just average, the steak was super dry... and it’s way too over price for the poor quality of the food.
Had the fizzy Friday menu which is a la carte menu with free flowing prosecco for 90 minutes. We had to keep calling the waitress to top our glass up on most occasions she was nowhere to be seen. It was quite busy as there were a few Christmas parties going on. The food was good although the menu was pretty limited with a £12 supplement for steak and £5 for squid starter!
This was my 3rd time at OXBO Bankside and will definitely be back
Service was extremely slow
Came here for my birthday dinner with 6 friends and was very well looked after by the attentive staff. Great selection of cocktails and lovely food in a nice ambience where you can hear each other talk. Been here twice since and will continue to come back!
Happily surprised by the set menu. Food option were very tasty!
Enjoyed the food and each course was full of flavours, do not always enjoy Hotel restaurants but this is certainly worth a visit.
The deal of 3courses plus a glass of fizz was excellent value for £23 and we enjoyed our evening very much. We shall return.
Excellent service; all of the waitstaff were keeping an eye on all the tables so you never were unattended. Food was very good with a decent variety on the menu. Prices were reasonable.
Matteo (assistant manager) took very good care us. He was nice and friendly and always ready to help and advise us . Food was very fresh and tasty . The restaurant was not so busy so we took our time and we could enjoy a very relaxed environment .
The brunch is always great value for money. Great choice of starters, main and desserts. Portions are not too big considering it's a buffet brunch. Third visit and will continue to go.
Great food. Exceptional staff. Vincent was awesome. The manager was great!
Restaurant marked us as a no-show, even though we gave our name to the hostess. Corn soup was nice, but could have done without the garnishes - popcorn, corn nuts and baby corn cob. Bread was stale, drink order - a bottle of ginger beer - ordered at the beginning didn't arrive until before entree, had to inquire about it a couple of times. A very large portion of pork belly was served, but left nearly 2/3 uneaten because it was overdone and ate more like pork jerky than pork belly. Server was nice enough to comp some of our sparkling water consumption for the inconvenience.
I left this review for a while in order to reflect as I dont like giving bad reviews.
After taking my team here, I was hoping it would be good as they deserved a good meal. Unfortunately it was marred by the service. It was simply awful. It's sad as there were a coupe of people working there that were very friendly and knew what service was, but there were some that just ruined it.
We ordered steaks of different cooked levels (Rare/Medium/Well Done etc.). When they came to serve the steaks, they started putting them down on the table and didn't care about which steak anyone got (as long as it was the right type of meat). I asked which steaks were which and they didn't know. Afterwards another person came and started to serve the same plates again without knowing which ones were which. Again I said that we needed to know how the steaks had been prepared, the response I got was a dirty look and attitude. After more people came they then started to try and work it out. Then someone came who knew which ones were cooked correctly. Unfortunately not all the meals were correct as some medium rares were cooked more than the mediums.
The service was very slow and trying to find someone to take drinks orders during the meal or ask for the missing sauces for the food, was near impossible. In the end I had to get out of my seat and go and chase.
The food itself was fine but with so much choice in London for somewhere to go, thiis place will not be somewhere I will return to. I didn'tt thing I cared about service so much until I was letting my whole team down.
I suppose if you are dining in smaller groups it will be a better experience. That'll be up to you to decide.
I opted for fried squid and my guest went for the mussels. Both of us had rib eye steak with sides, which was fantastic.
Very good restaurant pre Globe theatre in an area that has few comparably good choices. Seasonal specialties and good value for the quality. Excellent filet steak and very good pumpkin soup.
Excellent Sunday lunch. Live music that got lost a little as the place filled up. Quite attentive servers.
Another great find near Tate Modern and far enough from Borough Market to not be too touristy.
The food was excellent, first class ingredients cooked really well. The service was friendly but easy to confuse them if you didn't want everything in the right order. Will recommend and look forward to another visist
Service nice, food good however a little bit empty.
Previously had not heard of this restaurant and was looking for a venue for lunch on a Sunday near Tate modern, how glad we were to have found this excellent restaurant at only 3 mins walk away. Food was innovative, of high quality and had an excellent wide choice of buffet items suitable for all diets. The staff were highly attentive, friendly and welcoming. There was also a live guitarist who serenaded Happy birthday to my 93 year old mother ! Age group of diners looked mainly in the 20- 50 year age group - but age does not matter ! The dining experience means that you can sit in various kinds of spaces depending on whether you wish to be more private or have a long table as a big group. I would/will definitely return and can't praise the restaurant more highly.
very nice food
expensive wine, not good.
polite, friendly and prompt service.
Amazing experience, would definitely recommend, great ambiance, service and delicious food 👍🏽
