Had booked a table for 5:30pm. Was the first to be seen to but had to wait for a vacant table as I had arrived 3 minutes earlier.
Two other couples who had been booked for the same time arrived after myself. Unfortunately for me the Manager did not prioritise the order of the guests based on arrival.
Rather than select based on arrival he decided to select randomly any couple to be seated which is not good. Instead of apologising for the mistake the Manager was rude and just suggested I would be seated next.
I’ve been to Oxo Tower a few times and certain staff do behave differently to others. This ruins the experience as the same Manager could apply the same attitude to other guests which is not fair.
Apart from that the other staff serving the drinks and food were excellent. Very attentive and ensured we were looked after during our time.
Arrived a half hour prior to our reservation, were finally sat a half hour after our reservation. Nothing was offered to compensate, no one seemed overly accommodating.
The location, decor, food, and views were phenomenal; despite the small portions.
Happy with everything, efficient and very polite ! High recommend
Great views and nice food. Worth every penny
Really great service and food. The staff were very good with my 1 year old daughter and gave us a table where there was plenty of space for her to walk around without disturbing the other customers.
It was a birthday treat for my partner. Good service , nice food but bill was a little high for what it was. Had lovely table on the terrace overlooking the river.
Food and service were outstanding. My partner is allergic to cream they have made him a special pudding with diary alternative. We will be back thank you so much
The staff was excellent and very warm
We were there to celebrate my birthday and we had our 2.5 yr old as well
The staff was very friendly to her and helped with food recommendations.
I live locally and haven’t visited the OXO for a while but I must say, it never fails to impress. I’m not sure if there is a new chef but the food really was truly spectacular, the service exemplary and friendly and overall a lovely afternoon. I will be back again - very soon !
Lovely leisurely lunch. We were not chased and we enjoyed the food. Attentive but not over present staff. Thank you
Amazing view, starters and mains was cooked to perfection, only to be let down by a desert that was average to say the least.
Biggest grip was the cost of a bottle of wine. Appreciate that, as a business it is there to make money but charging 3 times the amount for a bottle of red that is for sale on the harvey nics Web site for £25, is, in my eyes, just plain greedy.
I have food allergies and they were well catered for!
Would definitely come back!!
I booked the Oxo Tower for a double birthday celebration - we had a wonderful time. It is pricey but for a special occasion it is completely worth it - especially with the views! The only negative I would say is that whilst they are very good at advising on allergy requirements there were not many alternatives for my friend who has a severe dairy allergy.
Decided to try the OXO Tower as I'd heard of some good reviews. The Restaurant and Brasserie are on the same floor level but have slightly different prices. We liked the look of the menu in the restaurant a little more and so selected this as our choice. The food was good and the service excellent. Only slight disappointment even with an early booking (made well in advance) was that we were sat three tables back from the great view of the Thames. In saying that the glazing area out over the Thames is huge so we had glimpses between people.
It's a nice restaurant with super service but I guess for the price I was expecting maybe more flavor. Had a lovely evening and they did provide a nice touch with a scoop of ice cream and a Happy Birthday message (which is what we were celebrating). Thanks.
Brilliant service; welcoming, attentive, super efficient and courses spaced well. Good food too. The location and view a definite USP.
Always enjoy Oxo Tower, beautiful surroundings, lovely view, good service, bit expensive but good food and lovely for a special occasion.
Great service and amazing food!
Mediocre food at extortionate prices. I wouldn’t have minded the bill if the food was really good but it just wasn’t, not a single course could I or the Mrs think mmmm this is really nice. First and last time we go here.
Absolutely fabulous. We enjoyed every moment. The cocktails, the food and the staff were absolutely amazing cannot rate oxo tower restaurant enough. Had a wonderful time.
Excellent food and an even better view. Staff was superb and very attentive. Great experience overall.
I really enjoyed it but expensive, the food was good but I have had as good for less.
Excellent meal and first class service. We went for a special birthday and staff made the occasion extra special. Great views too.
Will go again
Everything was Perfect! Perfekt meat, perfect atmosphere, perfekt personell, perfekt evening. Me Like!
Last minute booking for my daughter's 18th birthday was rewarded by great food and service, highly recommended.
It was okay and service was not exceptional. We needed to find our sever a few times despite being near service station. Views are spectacular
We were expecting better food (afternoon tea), it’s not worth the price. Staff is very pleasant and friendly, excelent service!
Really delicious food and lovely service. Very friendly. View is lovely.
Great food, wine, service and wonderful location with stunning day to night views over St Paul’s.
Spectacular! Can’t wait to come back
The view from the restaurant has dramatically improved with time with the addition of new skyscrapers that have enriched the London waterfront skyline. The food has taken the opposite path and it is now barely edible at an extortionate cost.
Very enjoyable afternoon. Relaxed atmosphere. Good food and wine. Very welcoming service.
Good food, amazing atmosphere, fair service.
I went to dinner with two friends last Saturday and the experience was good. We had crab for starter and it was the most delicious dish I have ever tasted. However, I have to say the main course, lobster ravioli, was disappointing. It was tasteless, I really expected a lot more. My friend had duck and it was amazing! The desserts were also superb! Well done!
I have two things to point out regarding our visit to OXO. The first one is that you should try to fallow booking instructions. I booked the table in advance and asked for a window seat, what didn't happen.
The waitress who welcomed us was really weird. She gave us menus and even before we open it she asked three times if we wanted cocktails. When my friends said no, she took the menu off their hands. I'd say no more than a minute later, she approached me asking again if I want cocktails. I had to be firm to her asking if "could have look on the menu for 2 minutes". It was our first visit and she didn't explain how the service work. It was a bit rude and awkward. She then went off and we were served by a friendly one.
After dinner, we went for a drink in the bar. I had a mojito and my friend another drink which I can't remember the name now. They were delish. However, the staffs looked very tired. Sometimes walking around "lost". I can see Saturday is probably your busiest day (I worked in hospitality for many years, yet, as a consumer looking for an experience, the customer service dropped my experience down. I don't think it is understandable since we pay 12.5% on service.
I thought I had booked the restaurant - When we arrived we were told we were in the Brassiere - as this was a milestone birthday - I was a little disappointed. It should be clear on your booking form that there are two dining options.
Was the fourth time I have been and it gets better every time, I didn't ask but was given a lovely table by the window to enjoy the amazing view over the Thames...food was even better than normal, a couple of more 'hearty' mains than last time for a guy, and as normal great quality, service was AMAZING very helpful and cheerful, only issue was a bottle of water we were changed for, I don't mind paying for a good meal (this was £178 for 2 people with just one glass of wine each) but if I ask for table tap water, don't bring me your own bottled and change me £5 when I am going to leave 50% of it...bit of a cash grab, but it didn't ruin the meal.
Outstanding place for a special occasion
Great service, fantastic views, really good food, but I think I would only be going back for those special occasions as had to really watch the bill.
Great food, servers were very attentive and professional. Only issue was the temperature in the restaurant was quite warm. They seem to have radiant floor heating under the tables, which is nice, but a little too strong.
As usual, everything was excellent except the price of the wine, 26£ for for a small glass of Italian wine ...
