Wonderful as always. One of the best ribeyes in London. This is a hidden gem in Bethnal Green/Bow. Worth a visit.
Superb tasty food at a good price, and the service was second to none.
Ok so: local gem alert!
Incredible food. Natural and biodynamic wines. Low prices.
When the owner’s son is your waiter you know you’ll get excellent service.
As ever, a totally fantastic experience. Interesting and tasty food and wonderful service.
Hidden gem in the Eastend. Friendly service and excellent food.
Lovely Christmas meal with friends here. Excellent good and great service in a really nice atmosphere at a pretty reasonable price! Highly recommended.
Feel so bad saying as I’m local and it’s family run but did not hit the spot. Was like my friends cooking but expensive.
A brilliant place for dinner or lunch. An authentic family restaurant with consistently excellent food and great service. It is cosy and intimate without feeling crowded. A hidden gem in East London. Strongly recommended.
Really really fantastic Sunday roast and cocktails!
Our food was well cooked and beautifully presented. The butternut squash, spinach and goats cheese tart I had was really delicious, with mouth-watering flavours and melt in the mouth pastry. The service was friendly and attentive but not overbearing. I will be visiting Palmer's again very soon!
The restaurant was excellent for food and service and the price was reasonable, unfortunately even though they had seating outside they had no ashtrays so people had to throw their cigarette butts in the street.
You cannot beat Palmers. Whilst the setting and the ambience may not be its selling point, the food is ALWAYS amazing! I go to fancy places for work and always leave disappointed, thinking ‘it would be so much better at Palmers...’. The Sunday roast is simply the best!
Great experience at Palmer's. I just wish more people knew about this place - it should be booked out every night. Excellent food and really good service. Superb for wheelchairs too.
Fantastic as usual. Great friendly service and best Sunday roast lunch for miles.
Excellent food and service as ever.
A superb local
Great restaurant with great Sunday roast. Staff was welcoming and attentive.
Excellent night out. Food was tasty, well cooked and good portions. Service discreet but spot on. Menu was varied and all the options looked delicious. A real gem in the East End.
Been here several times for Sunday lunch. Sunday lunch is good but also have a choice of other food also.
Great food, the Sunday Roasts are exceptional with Yorkshire puddings nearly the size of the plate! Very good food, reasonably priced and excellent friendly service make it a place we keep coming back to. Would highly recommend.
My son has just moved to Roman Road so we chose to visit Palmers for my birthday lunch. There wasn't a huge choice but everything was lovely. I started with steamed clams with chorizo and it was delicious, the others loved their starters too. We all opted for a roast, 2 beef and 4 belly pork which we all thoroughly enjoyed. None of us had room for a dessert but we shared an interesting cheese board and as it was my birthday I had a fabulous Espresso Martini!
Friendly service, good menu choice and excellent food. Recommend all but especially the Sunday roasts. Will definitely visit again.
Fantastic food as always. The clam starter was particularly delicious and my steak was cooked to perfection!
Amazing food, as always, in a relaxed setting. Highly recommended.
Went for early dinner so we were only ones in restaurant. Bream and poussin were both delicious though the haddock was less so.
Palmers did not disappoint yet again - we had a lovely Sunday roast. Excellent food and lots of it. Everything was delicious and the service was superb. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!
Great food, well cooked and good choice. Friendly service and good value. Will definitely be going again.
The food is consistently excellent and very reasonable. We have our book club there every 6 weeks and it has always been brilliant.
We love Palmers so much! Amazing food at good prices and excellent service. Highly recommended especially for the Sunday roast.
This was our 3rd or 4th visit to Palmers. Not local & have only been therefor lunch (Saturday and Sunday) when in the area. We had heard Sunday lunches there were very popular - very busy but great food and service. Would certainly recommend and return. Some different dishes with a twist & excellent sauces. Family business. Wish them well.
Excellent meal as always. Menu changes regularly and is always enticing. The three of us were all very pleased with what we chose. So good to be able to hear each other speak as well'
we've been coming here for many years and every time we dine here we are always impressed that, without fail, the food is excellent. Interesting combinations and very good value.
Great Sunday roasts, succulent beef and chicken, massive Yorkshire puddings and vegetables. Wonderful puddings to finish off and reasonably priced. Will definitely go again!
Still can't believe there is such a good restaurant in this area - I come here every few months and am never disappointed. Very good food, generous portions and very comfortable setting. You can hear yourself think!
Better than many highly regarded West End or hipster restaurants. Long may Palmers continue.
Delicious food and great value as always!
Great quality ingredients, cooked brilliantly. Best Sunday Lunch in London, bar none!
Amazing food at reasoanble prices. Best Sunday Roast I have had in London. Fresh produce and the waiting staff are always really pleasant.
It takes a lot to entice me from my own warm kitchen on a day when the maximum temperature was forecast to be 2C.
I had seen some very good reviews of Palmers, and had a very good word-of-mouth recommendation. Fred and I decided to make the relatively short journey to have Sunday Lunch.
We booked and arrived promptly for our 1:30 p.m. table. Inially the "greeter" could find no record of us having booked, which was soon quickly resolved.
We were shown to a table for two, which had plenty of space. We both chose to have a Negroni before our meal. The menu was short yet full of interesting offerings. Fred chose the Goats cheese with figs and walnuts salad: I boldly went for the gnocchi with octopus and pancetta.
We ordered a bottle of Ocre, a merlot which was described on the winelist as having an intense flavour. It did, but was perfectly balanced and highly enjoyable.
We both ordered the Roast Beef from the Sunday lunch list.
When our starters arrived we were both amazed the quality of them. We both found that the flavours were spot-on, that the ingredients were of the finest quality, and in my case that the gnocchi was served piping hot.
Our roast beef was presented red but not raw and was very tasty, with a selection of parsnip, carrots, savoy cabbage, roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding, and creamed horseradish. The cooking of every element was perfect.
It says much that the only issue we had was with the oddly-shaped knives which not easy to grip.
We completed our meals with desserts. Fred had a Raspberry and quince crumble, whereas I had the Caramel Lava cake. I suspect the Fred made the better choice as my cake did not seem to be as good as his crumble.
We ended up with a bill of £108, which considering that we had not "stinted" was good.
Will we go back. Yes, yes, yes! like a shot
Our fourth visit and it has never failed to impress. Fab service and delicious food (lots of it too!).
Great food, lovely staff, punching far above its weight
Have been many times and the quality hasn't changed. This time it was for Sunday lunch and we weren't disappointed. It is also lovely to be somewhere where you can hear yourself speak. Will be back.
