A great dining experience; from sitting on the terrace with cocktails watching the deer to the taster menu at our table.
It was impressive to find that there was both a large amount of space between tables and very attentive staff.
The wine pairings with the menu was superb and it was a joy learning about the wines and why they were paired.
Great evening with friends to celebrate a special birthday. Every course of the taster menu was beautiful, tasty, a real work of art. Adaptations for a shellfish allergy were just as good as everything else. The wine pairing isn’t cheap but certainly finishes the experience. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and had a nice rapport. Only thing I thought was the handmade chocolates, as an extra were expensive on top of the price of the menu, champagne and coffees.
Lovely food, attentive but not oppressive service, great sommelier explanations, pleasant surroundings - many years since we last came v pleased. Good veggie option on tasting menu too
Fantastic experience once again, summer tasting menu spot on 👍😊
We had an excellent evening at Paris House. The food and pairing wines were amazing. Would definitely recommend the experience.
Special afternoon lunch treat. Superb and interesting taster menu and service outstanding with knowledgeable staff.
An incredible dining experience. Definitely recommend it.
Thoroughly excellent. One veggie tasting menu, one meaty. My veggie version was clearly prepared with as much care and attention as the standard one, which does not always happen.
Very nice little fresh cooked savoury beignets served while we ordered, plus freshly baked bread and wonderful Marmite butter, and we chose one wine pairing to share, which our waiter seemed to think was perfectly acceptable. The paired wines were exactly the same for both menus.
It was nice to have items we would not normally eat at home -Banana blossom? Carpaccio of pigeon?
I loved the little touches which were not mentioned on the menu, for example fantastic rice noodles, home made, with the artichoke and hamachi courses. Probably, though it sounds dull, the beetroot carpaccio was my favourite, thanks to its dressing and presentation.
Maybe the two puddings were a bit much, possibly swapping one for a small cheese plate would be good, as opposed to needing to order a full plate. Maybe this was possible, I did not think to ask.
We had been given a Paris House gift token by friends and they could not have chosen anything more enjoyable. Nice friendly waiters, beautiful views, excellent food. Thank you!
Food and Wine were outstanding. The decor is tired and needs a refresh. The team were knowledgeable and courteous but lacked a little engagement and warmth. Overall and for the food alone worth a visit but save up!
We visited Paris House to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Exceptional venue for a special occasion and the setting in the grounds is beautiful, the food and wine was amazing as were the people serving us. Thoroughly enjoyed our evening - thank you so much
Enjoyed a lovely evening in a beautiful location.
A sumptuous experience of excellent food and top notch levels of service from the staff. The tasting menu may have elements that don’t meet everyone’s taste, but overall the food is exceptional in both taste and presentation. The staff achieve that fine balance between professionalism, information and an ability to develop a rapport with the diners. The setting is unique and builds anticipation from the moment you leave the main road. The restaurant provides ample space for table separation, but if the main lights were dimmed we would benefited from the candle on the table in creating a more intimate feel at our table.
Generally, it was incredibly good, but one disappointment was they took away the menu for the 6-course discovery menu before we ate. The problem was, because of the Covid Masks it was exceedingly difficult to understand the waiter's descriptions of the food hence some of the discovery was missed.
Set in a really beautiful location. The food was absolutely delicious & the staff were amazing with their knowledge and etiquette. They couldn’t do enough!! Will be going back for the winter menu- highly recommend!!!
Staff were amazing and very knowledgeable. Great location.
Was not keen on the pigeon on the rosemary skewer, quite chewy, and I was a fan of the popping candy in the desert, but everything else was amazing. Thankyou.
Had a great celebration lunch.
Food and wine excellent.
Staff friendly and efficient.
First time I have eaten here, and I am a big fan of the tasting menu approach with paired wines. 7 courses including an optional cheese course. The setting was also superb.
The food was fantastic - some wonderful flavours and presented very well. Service was also great - the sommelier in particular really knew his stuff. The wines went very well indeed with their paired courses.
Overall, this was a great experience for our wedding anniversary. The bill, though, was eye-watering - nearly £400 for two! Only really doable for a special occasion.
Paris House is situated on the Woburn estate and the first thing that greets you are the deer wandering around.
The house itself is a beautiful 'Tudor' style. we were greeted by a member of staff upon arrival and shown straight to our table.
From then on nothing is too much trouble.
Each of the 'tasting' dishes are explained in detail and the food is absolutely amazing. I can't recommend Paris House enough.
We will be going back to sample their Autumn Tasting menu.
a great evening to celebrate our 36th Anniversary.
Yet again a wonderful meal with fabulously friendly service in a beautiful setting - what more can you say!
Absolutely superb meal in a delightful and stylish setting. We had the tasting menu with the wine pairing and it did not disappoint. The pigeon course was not to our taste, but that is simply because we do not like it. An amazing choice of wines, served by one of the most knowledgeable Sommeliers I have met. I do have one quibble, though: given the considerable cost, to charge £2 for each handmade chocolate at the end of the meal both seemed mean and out of place. Will definitely return when the next seasonal menu is launched in the autumn.
Fabulous food, very attentive, friendly service and lovely ambience. One of the best meals we have ever had and we will certainly be returning.
Both myself and Nicholas had a very enjoyable afternoon yesterday. The food was exceptional with so many tastes, textures, flavours and aromas. The wine sommelier was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic over the wine flight and menu, but also made the meal most enjoyable. Thank you to all of the staff at Paris House.
Paris House is a wonderful dining experience. This is my second visit and I took my mum as a surprise. The tasting menu was wonderful with great tasting seasonal food, beautifully displayed and eaten over a relaxed 2.5hrs. The staff are welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. A dining experience worth having
My last meal out was at Paris House in November 2019, wonderful to return and just as good as ever.
The food was perfect, absolutely delicious.
The service not so perfect. The sommelier appeared very knowledgeable, however left a full glass of wine in our bottle, which we found when we had finished our meal, a real shame at £64 a bottle!
We had to ask for hot milk for our coffees three times, the table wasn't cleared of glasses as often as I would like to see in a Michelin starred restaurant.
The Paris House is a real treat though and I would not let a few poor moments spoil such a fabulous meal.
Set in stunning grounds with the grandest entrance from the road, you enter the restaurant and taken straight to my table.
Plenty of room between tables and thankfully not too much noise.
Water then delicious mocktails, mango based.
Nibbles then fabulous amuse bouche drink.
Starter of crab, then unusually beef before tuna. Lamb and then a sensational nectarine pallet cleanser then a millionaires tart.
Beautifully presented food with great flavours, only criticism would be jalapeño is a very strong flavour (that lingers) that maybe is a bit much for a taster meal?
Staff are very polite friendly and helpful.
Toilets were very clean.
A great setting for a lovely restaurant.
I loved the whole experience. The location, food and warm reception from the staff were all exceptional. Having such a small number of covers means that service does not need to be compromised.
The cooking is creative, tasty and beautifully presented.
A wonderful experience for our anniversary. Attentive but not intrusive service. We were not rushed but not waiting around for ages. The food was beautifully presented, tasted delicious and was just the right portion size. Not our normal budget at £80 a head without drinks but well worth it for a treat.
All the food was superb. The staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Definately recommend.
A wonderful place! Amazing food. Lovely ambience. Great staff.
Venue is stunning and the meal starts of promising but falls flat at mains and desserts. At the end the waiter tried to upsell us on chocolates which was shocking and disappointing for what is a classy establishment. It was odd to have lots of different wait staff. I was expecting more for £80 a head.
An excellent lunch with friends in a great location. Tasting menu was delicious. It was a hot day and a bit more ventilation would have been good.
A lovely tasting menu of the highest quality and great choice of matched wines. The setting on a lovely summers afternoon is outstanding with roaming deer.
Service from the waiters and their knowledge was excellent.
So my only issues are 2 things.
Firstly as a Michelin Star restaurant set the table and dont leave knives and forks on the side- no other similar restaurant does that- get back post covid to full service.
Secondly being forced to only chose from a tasting menu means I wont go back too often. Be nice just to have a full starter and main course and wine but you cant.
Howie was so entertaining and informative. Fabulous menu!
Thoroughly enjoyable visit. What is not to like. Particularly like the way that the staff interact with their guests.
Howie was extremely helpful with his knowledge of wine snd the history or the building. Everyone was very polite and clear explanations of each course was good.
Celebrate landmark birthday
Arriving via the gatehouse at 7:15pm we were greeted by a herd of deer on the meadow out side Paris House
Sitting on the terrace having our aperitif in the evening sun the only sound we could hear was the deer chewing on the grass as the sun was low in the sky and coming really close to the terrace
Can there be a better place to sit and relax?
Then we were shown to our table; again with a view across the meadow. The seating layout really did provide a degree of intimacy.
The courses were delivered by staff who were excellent and the flight of wines offered by an extremely knowledgeable sommelier who even knew Low Fell, the Nine Pins and the Cannon.
The food was delightful with each accompaniment complementing the main element whether it was Sea Bream, Beef, Duck or Scallop - how many flavours were packed in that Tom Yum dim sum parcel I will never know!!
The two desserts were very good and completely different - one, a take on a fresh fruit trifle and the other a chocolate mousse tart with a salted caramel surprise
Yes it was a fine dining tasting menu and we both felt satisfied with all that we had
As we left at 10:30 the view of the gatehouse very nicely bathed in spotlights will remain as a memory to remind us again of how far Paris House has come in just a few years
