Peace and Loaf Restaurant
Superb food, great friendly service. Would highly recommend
Great local food in a chilled out, down to earth atmosphere
It was a joint birthday celebration and there were 6 of us there.
Food was fantastic as per usual.
I wasn’t sure about the table by the kitchen door and each time it opened there was a cool fraught. Having said that my son in law (1 of the birthdays) loves being able to see into the kitchen and chat to the chef.
First visit to peace & loaf. I’ll definitely return. Service, presentation, food all outstanding.
Another excellent meal. Varied menu, attentive service and all round value for money. Love the little extras they make the experience even more enjoyable
Always amazing! Food never disappoints...and the tasters they bring out are fab
We had a very early lunch and the place was quiet, with a level of music which allowed us to converse easily. The food and service were excellent, and we would recommend Peace and Loaf to anyone who wants a tasty and interesting meal.
Our meal was superb as always. For me the little Thai fishcakes served as part of the appetizer were my favourite thing about the meal. That and the chocolates at the end of the meal which were presented to us for our anniversary which we were celebrating.
Great night out, worth travelling to Newcastle for.
Absolutely love this place. We hadn't been for a few years but it was fantastic then and still now. Delicious food and wine.
Fabulous food and great service. Recommend every time
A lunchtime treat to celebrate 3 birthdays and a doctorate and it did not disappoint. We'd heard and read how good Peace and Loaf is and if anything it exceeded expectations. The service was friendly and impeccable and the food was divine. Our first visit but not our last.
Fantastic as always!
We’ve not been for a little while but it always proves why we return again and again!
Fantastic menu, food and service are out of this world!
No hesitation recommending to anyone who will listen
Another superb meal - cannot fault this restaurant.
Great as ever
An incredible restaurant in an unexpected location. For the quality of the food and the highly developed menu this place is very well priced. Staff are very relaxed but attentive and knowledgable about the dishes.
Really really good food in a relaxed atmosphere
It’s like 2 Michelin star food in a no fuss restaurant
Raw beef pie is a stand out dish.
We wished it was closer to our home in the midlands!
Absolutely beautiful food. Service could have been a little less casual (waiting staff).
From start to finish it was just the most enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is lovely, the dining set up perfect for what is needed. The staff go above and beyond to make it everything you come to expect from this establishment. Nothing is too much effort, each dish was expertly explained in a non obtrusive way. Food was absolutely delicious, our party of 4 enjoyed every single bite. Cannot recommend and commend this restaurant enough?!
Service excellent with very friendly and helpful staff.
Food lovely and really enjoyed the treats.
Some issue with temperature of main course, but this was rectified without any problem .
Great service and astounding food
Back again for another delicious meal. This really is our favourite restaurant. The food is outstanding. The service is great, Luke is a fab waiter and so friendly. We’re never disappointed when we come, just blown away by the food. The lamb with beetroot was fantastic. Great place. See you again as soon.
We’ve been visiting this place many times and always loved it. This time the food was especially good, but the new seating arrangement appalling. The seats very uncomfortable, as well as extremely inconvenient, both for guests and for staff.
I trust they will revert to the old style or something similar. We all found the change incomprehensible. It didn’t look attractive, and didn’t use space in a sensible way, cluttering the place with huge ugly blocks that served no obvious purpose.
Acoustics poor, made it very noisy. Service a bit too cool. Amuse Bouches were lovely, mains too rich and dominated by over powering sauces. We ticked a box for a birthday but we had to remind them and then a few chocs appeared.
Overall, disappointing for price as Newcastle needs a few more fine dining restaurants.
Really friendly and informative staff and great table set up (not too close to each other).
Our favourite restaurant - haven’t been for s while & it didn’t disappoint. Wonderful meal. Loved the carrots with chickpeas & feta!
Fabulous food and excellent service. Will definitely return!!
Excellent as always. Looking forward to our next trip ❤️❤️
Brilliant meal and brilliant service. The waiting staff were very attentive at all times. Maybe more explanation on some of the meal choices although staff most helpful when queries made.
Fantastic food (raw beef pie to die for), great service, can't wait to come back
Great food and always very attentive but unobtrusive staff.
What a treat for the taste buds- utterly scrumptious.
We had a lovely meal at Peace and Loaf. The service was impeccable, very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly staff. We ordered starters and main courses and there was a pre-starter delivered to the table which was a variety of delicious tidbits. Also a small dish served between the two courses. The serving staff advised and described what they were putting down to you even for the starter and main course. The food was outstanding, well presented, plentiful and very tasty.
Attentive but unobtrusive service. Innovative menu.
Whilst the food was wonderful and the beef was the beefiest meat I have ever eaten we were the only guests in the restaurant which meant that it lacked ambience and atmosphere.
Restaurant lived up to everything we had heard. Interesting food from the al a carte menu and really lovely service.
It was busy but had a great vibe . Also offered a different wine selection from the usual.
Great service, food was superb - and very reasonable from the fixed price early menu.
Delicious and innovative food; all our party happily chose from the variety of dishes on the 3-course lunch prix fixe menu (which was a steal at £27) but the bread & little extras/ amuse-bouches were super tasty and worth a special mention too. The newly refurbished surroundings were stylish yet comfortable and all the restaurant team provided wonderfully unobtrusive service - we will definitely be back!
We had a simply, superb meal at Peace and Loaf. Which was made even more enjoyable as it was a special occasion and it did not go unnoticed with a complimentary glass of fizz on arrival. The food is fabulous, there's a very interesting and different menu, and it's beautifully presented and explained by the waiting staff. The service by friendly staff is impeccable. This is definitely one of the best restaurants in Newcastle, if not the region. After previously trying unsuccessfully to have dinner there (you need to book at least 2 weeks in advance for weekend reservations) we'll be back!
We have been before, it wasn't as good as the first time around.
Service was quite slow, we were initially sat at a table near a draughty fire escape and our reward for informing the manager we hadnt been charged for our drinks was to be given an adjusted bill which was about £10 more than it should have been.
Food was still really amazing though and the set price menu is good value for money.
