Peace and Loaf Restaurant
Sunday: 12pm - 3:30pm
Had Sunday lunch and it didn’t disappoint. Fantastic as always and really good value.
Lovely food, however hearing the waitresses talking about you isn’t good!
Excellent creative food with friendly staff. A great night out with friends or as a couple
All round brilliance. This is a restaurant for special occasions and the price reflects that, but it is worth the visit and is highly recommended. The food is perfect and the service lives up to the same standard. Fine dining and great for a date.
As ever the food was great and the staff very helpful and friendly. One little request is to consider giving an amuse Boucher other than bread and dropping. The bread is lovely but the dripping is not flavoursome. Your other nibbles are gorgeous.
Another First Class meal from the Early Evening set menu which at £30 is good value when you include all the little extras before and in etween courses.
Service was very friendly and the waiting staff knew how to explain what each choice contained clearly.
From our last
I loved the friendly and attentive service. The food was superb and the vegetarian option was excellent. A lovely local restaurant I would visit again and again.
A real find for us foodies and service and ambience were perfect too. We ate from the pre-7pm set menu and didn't feel compromised at all. That's quite important as the a la carte menu would be budget-busting for us but we will definitely return after such a positive experience.
A vert pleasant and enjoyable experience, food excellent and beautifully presented, service excellent .
Fabulous Sunday lunch one of the best i have ever eaten.
High quality all the way but not the cheapest night out in town
Great service , great food, really unusual dishes,
The service was, as usual, immaculate and the dishes were great. This style of cooking is not available anywhere else in the city and it is a real joy
3rd time here yet each visit blows me away. Truly delicious food, great atmosphere, 1st class service and lots of little tasters between each course. Thank you all for making our anniversary that little bit extra special:)
Our favourite place to eat. Never had a bad meal. Slowly introducing family and friends. U so deserve a Michelin star!!!! Love the place!!!!
Service was very friendly, the waiter was chatty and very helpful. Food was left on the pass for a long time after plating up so arrived, at best, luke warm. Gravy had to be returned as the top inch of the jug was liquid fat. Meat was well cooked and very tasty.
Overall it was OK but considering the price, it was disappointing.
The service was excellent and the food very good ... but expensive. We liked the restaurant but the tables were too close together which negatively affected our overall experience.
Really fabulous food , highly recommend. Service was very good too . All staff highly knowledgeable.
Delightful lunch using local ingredients imaginatively put together and extremely well served. Will definitely go back.
Absolutely gorgeous food, we both had the 42 c halibut and chicken pie and the depth of taste was exceptional, the assiette of deserts were delicious, staff were lovely, wouldn’t hesitate in returning
Superb as usual I took my mum to celebrate her 50th birthday she loved it and will soon be back, peace and loaf is my favourite restaurant and I always recommend it to family and friends
This was the best dining experience of our three visits. Our friends from Bristol say it was the best dining experience for some time. They particularly liked the sauces.
We ate on Monday lunchtime and ordered from the a la carte, firstly the food is amazing, from the presentation to the flavours and worth the visit.
The service was ok but could improve.
Maitre’d was informed that the white wine was too cold (yes!, it actual can be and needed to be 3 degrees warmer for the taste to be appreciated and the aromas not to be masked.) however, he still placed it in the wine cooler!
I was sat facing the fire exit door which had two owl dirty door draft excluders and the brown paint was peeling away from the wall not the most picturesque view!
Drinks were replenished and then they weren’t, satisfaction was asked in the main course but not at any other time.
We had used our starter cutlery with the amuse bouche and had to ask for it to be replenished.
Sparkling bottle of water we had finished however no offer of replenishment until main course and they had been at the table three times.
There is no engaging conversation or any questions asked solely a robotic service. Personally, I would place candles on the table for evening service giving more room.
Had to ask for coffees and digestif !
Coffee was bitter and a little biscotti would have been appreciated to be served along side.
No attention to detail and if the food wasn’t so amazing you would leave and not recommend to others at a bill of £162 service should come hand in hand it’s not horrendous and it’s not the worse but a little bit more and this would be amazing.
If I’m asked what I thought I would reply food amazing but service needs more attention.
I Understand that service can be too attentive but the balance has to be equal.
Another fantastic meal at Peace and loaf. All God exceptional, except for one vege main, which was poor for the price. Service was excellent as usual and it feels like a great place to eat and relax.
Amazing service , amazing food , can’t wait to go again
We went to Peace and Loaf while away for the weekend in Newcastle. Had one of the best meals I have had all year, we will definitely return. It is expensive, but well worth it. Great staff, great food.
Tries too hard. Food was really poor, especially for the price. Actually, forget the price, the food was really poor. The "canapés" were too large and over powered everything else. The food as well presented but pretentious and the flavours either bland (the mini chicken parmo ... really .. it is not hard to make sure there is some flavour of cheese ..), or confused. I would not go back.
Rollo's in Edinburgh does way better for similar money.
Hedone in Chiswick is more expensive, but definitely worth it.
Walter & Benjamin in Munich does a lot better for less ... and is in Munich :)
Always love a trip to Peace and Loaf. The food is consistently delicious with lots of lovely extras between courses. The waiting staff were great.
Peace and Loaf is a very special place with reliable excellent food and service
Excellent value for money
We visited Peace and Loaf on Saturday for a 50th birthday celebration and the food , service and overall quality of the dining experience surpassed all our expectations and more , as it always does . P&L is our no.1 choice in Newcastle for fine dining and tantalising taste treats bar none , loved it !
See you soon .
Excellent food, quality extremely high, creative and enjoyable menu. Terrific wines and really good, unobtrusive, service. A thoroughly enjoyable experience - again!
Outstanding in every way. The presentation and quality of food surpassed expectations. The chefs canapés were a huge pleasant surprise!
I brought my girlfriend here for lunch on her birthday. The fixed price lunch menu is great value and the quality of both the food and service is outstanding.
This is the second time I've been to Peace and Loaf, and both times have been exceptional. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
May appear to be pricey but considering the quality of the food it represents excellent value for money.
Food was mostly exceptional- lamb was tough though hence 4/5. Had a great night, staff were fantastic. Only disappointment was that it was far too fast. Plates cleared as soon as we'd finished. Next courses arrived immediately. Shame as the food was beautiful and staff excellent.
Will definitely be back. Would book an earlier table though and ask for a little more relaxed pace.
I was given a voucher as a birthday present from my daughter as we've always wanted to come hear.
We had an early booking 17.30 but the place still had a lot of other diners in,the attention to detail frpm the waiters and waitresses couldn't be faulted, each serving was described to us even the little appetizers in between courses.
Every dish we had was perfect, the portions weren't huge but satisfying.
We would definitely recommend the Peace & Loaf.
Fantastic as always. The quality of the dishes is matched by the service.
A lovely night in great surroundings with fabulous food.
Melt in the mouth roast beef. Quirky, taste bud bursting flavours. Smooth and luscious wine. Attentive staff. Memorable meal to celebrate buying our first home.
We’ve eaten here frequently since we discovered P&L last year. Sunday lunch today was perfect in every way and from first bite until last. We both chose roast beef for our main course and the meat was probably the best we have ever eaten anywhere; and we eat out frequently...
