Without doubt this was the best meal we’ve ever had - everyone needs to try this place at least once. Must also mention the staff as nothing was too much for them.
A Birthday celebration with my family was the perfect afternoon in Peace and Loaf, experiencing the tasting menu for the first time.
The restaurant took all the necessary precautions for Covid, whilst maintaining a relaxed and friendly ambience.
Some dishes exceptional but two or three bland. £11 + for large glass of Alberino !!!!!
Great food. Attentive service.
From the moment we walked in everything was perfect – from the professional and friendly service to the most delicious and innovative food, thank you peace and loaf.
Fabulous food experience . It was wonderful and we couldn’t fault it
Superb food and service at peace and loaf. Only slight grumble was that the wine flight, which, though well matched, was too expensive for what we had. Plus there wasn’t a match for every course. Tend to go for wine flights with tasting menus generally, but won’t do this again here.
It met all our expectations. If there was any constructive criticisms then I would say that most of the tasting samples were too salty for our pallet. Some of the wine choices complimenting the courses were disappointing.
We did thoroughly enjoy our experience. Thank you
Excellent food and service, this restaurant never fails to impress
Absolutely outstanding service and food! Couldn’t recommend enough.
We have been going to Peace and Loaf for a few years now and each time the experience gets better and better! This time we went for the short tasting menu (still a lot on there!) and were not disappointed! Each course was so full of flavour and uniquely designed, and despite the smaller sample sizes, we were completely full by the end - with just enough space to squeeze in the sumptuous petit four! Our favourite thing about Peace and Loaf is the menu - you only know what ingredients will be featured in the course and it’s always a surprise to see how they are presented!
The food and service were as good as ever in one of our favourite restaurants. The flavours on both the main and the vegetarian menus were often intense, and the combination of ingredients sometimes inspired. Can’t wait for the next time.
We asked for the taster menu B and also for it to be vegan. They really made a special effort and celebrated all that is vegan with amazing dishes. The veg (and fruit) really was was the star and the tastes were astounding and surprising.
We had an absolutely wonderful meal celebrating our 10 wedding anniversary and would highly recommend this restaurant.
An exceptional meal with top class service. Surprisingly good value for money too. This places deserves a Michelin star!
Dined here on Saturday with my wife for our wedding anniversary, the food and service were outstanding need I say more
Excellent service, the food was beautiful and the wine was delicious too.
Outstanding meal with fantastic service. Each dish is like a piece of art and is cleverly designed. Every course was delicious.
Another visit and another fantastic meal. They work really hard here to make the dining experience special. The food was amazing. They also have everything in place for diners to feel covid safe. Always a pleasure and will be back again soon.
Food was incredible, nothing disappointed, the service was also amazing, will 100% be back.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Peace and Loaf, everything about the place is exceptional. The food is out of this world, and staff and service equally as good. We went for the £40 tasting menu which was 7 courses and each one was fantastic and unique. Great value for money. Can’t wait to return!
Outstanding tasting menu with excellent service
Great, tasty food and enthusiastic, friendly staff.
A fabulous meal and excellent service. Thanks for a fantastic experience.
Amazing food and wine, as always. Favourite place to eat
The anti-covid arrangements are well thought out and the food and service are absolutely first rate
Our first visit and more than overdue. Peace & Loaf more than lives up to it’s big reputation. Clientele is obviously for the main young professionals and as my partner and I are both in our late 50’s we found the music a tad loud. The decor is state of the art modern, minimalist and industrial. Our table was on the top floor, which is level 3 in terms of seating. This gave us a good view of proceedings.
From the initial meet and greet the service was superb. Very professional, attentive and informative. At the same time warm and friendly.
The food, well our 14 course Tasting Menu was sublime. Modern, innovative and ‘fine’ dining for sure. However, there was no nonsense, every ingredient recognisable in terms of flavour and freshness. Innovative combinations, everyone a triumph!
Can’t praise the whole experience enough and we look forward to David receiving a first Michelin star.
A fantastic venue with wonderful food and service to match.
Carefully and responsibly sourced ingredients crafted by a creative and highly-skilled chef and brigade to produce vibrant dishes exciting both the palette and the eye. Attentive, knowledgable staff offer friendly And professional service in a dining area that, at the time of our visit, felt Covid Safe while remaining relaxed and inclusive.
Tasting menus are unbeatable at the asking price, and wine pairings are informed and well matched with courses.
Recommended for couples and families while the Pandemic continues, good for a business lunch to impress when we’re back to normal.
Fantastic tasting menu. Atmosphere was relaxed, just right for a lunch. Highly recommend. Thank you to the staff for a wonderful dining experience
Nice varied tasting menu. Mostly interesting especially fish & chips, black pudding macaroon. Happy to go back and have the larger tasting menu.
Taster menu and wine pairing is unbelievable. Tables have been spaced out due to social distancing so takes away from the ambiance a tad as slightly less cosy feel but great for the circumstances. Days leads up to reservation, they got in touch to see if we would like earlier to take advantage for full experience with 10pm closing. Can’t wait to go again.
Outstanding food, great staff, and a truly wonderful evening.
Delicious food and wine and very friendly and attentive service.
Good adoption of Covid-19 reducing measures such that we felt safe and relaxed.
Excellently prepared taster menu complete with canapés. Delicious.
Very relaxed and welcoming environment.
Will definitely return.
Excellent meal as always - tasting menu was varied and delicious
Best food we’ve eaten in a long time and we’re foodie people. Wish it was on our doorstep! Loved everything massive attention to detail and flavours were staggering. We’ll definitely be back
An amazing place to celebrate anniversary. Tasting menu superb and drinks pairing excellent. Very well set up for social distancing. We would highly recommend this restaurant.
Table ready upon arrival, attentive waitering from start to finish. High quality tasting menu - we had both standard and veggie. Comfortable seating reasonably spaced. Just a good food experience
Food was amazing, we felt very comfortable for the moment we arrived. We turned up early and was seated straight away. Covid measured we're in place and didn't feel uncomfortable or uneasy. All staff wore face masks and were very friendly. We have recommended this to our friends and will return.
My wife and I attended during a weekday and experienced the tasting menu.
The restaurant manager/host was very professional and a great ambassador, however, the other waiting staff weren’t up to scratch, in my opinion at least.
They may seem small details, but when you’re paying that kind of money, that attention to detail needs to be consistent throughout the dining experience:
The waitress that evening kept placing my wife’s cutlery the wrong way around and it was generally plonked on the table with little grace.
The tasting course meant each table was served the same dishes on the same plates. However on a few of our dishes the plates we were given weren’t as flamboyant as the other tables and it started to feel as if it personal.
At one point my wife spotted a waiter pull his visor down, wipe his mouth and return to serving tables. Later I spotted the same waiter pull his visor down at the bar to speak with colleagues.
Questions asked about the food seemed insincere as if they were asked as a matter of course (which I know they are) but again, a bit of conversation would have really added a warmth to the experience. “have you been here before?”, “are you dining with us for an occasion?”, “what made you decide to choose us?”. It’s just that extra level of personal touch that I felt was missing.
The food was, as expected, quite intricate, not always did I think the flavours worked well and the tasting menu didn’t really tell much of a story. It appeared at times quite random. For the calibre of the restaurant I’d have expected a theme or some continuity in the flavours from dish to dish. Some thought about how one dish leads in to the next would enhance the experience.
I’d personally not return but I’d suggest it’s a place to try at least once. It gets some outstanding reviews and is held is high esteem locally.
