Peace and Loaf Restaurant
Our meal was exceptional, the canapés to start were delicious and so were the rolls. We had the soft shell crab and the sweetbreads as starters, which were fantastic. The drink selection and pricing were both good. The star of the show was the main course - we shared the beef for two. It was the best cut of meat I’ve ever had, I can’t underestimate how good it was. The flavor was amazing and the consistency was spectacular. Absolutely recommend and can’t wait to go again!
Fabulous in every way .. no further words required
First visit since re decoration and very impressed.
Food and service very good as usual and definitely the go to restaurant in Newcastle for special occasion.
We had the set early evening menu and the Lamb was outstanding.
We did not have a sweet as the starter and main and all the bits in between were more than enough and went with a very nice Portuguese red.
We had the lunchtime special and I can’t even put into words how amazing every course was. This is definitely the best place I have ate. There was 4 of us dinning. Every guest agreed it was outstanding. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. Explaining every course as they served.
Excellent meal and brilliant staff. Started with cocktails served by Luke who was very friendly and informative and it only got better
Started with cocktails though because of my only criticism- the new booths are too small and table too low so waited for a normal table. Well worth the wait
This wasn’t our first visit and it will not be our last. The food is top drawer. Our waitress was a little quiet and a bit miserable, maybe just a bad day for her. However it didn’t spoil what is always a great dining experience.
After I asked if they had soya milk for my allergies and they didn't, our server ensured someone went out to get me some especially. The veggie options also had dairy in them so these were reimagined slightly by the chefs and still tasted absolutely incredible. It's definitely a 'treat' restaurant, with our bill coming in around £120.00 between two but *absolutely* worth it for the quality of meals and truly exceptional service.
We went just after the refurbishment and it looks lovely! The staff were very welcoming and the food was outstanding!
We are looking forward to going back :)
Fabulous food, great serving team and kitchen staff. Simply the best.
Felt menu was trying too hard to be different. Very expensive for what we had.
Food was exquisite, staff very kind and were very well trained on the dishes, reasonably priced for the very high standards. 100% recommend
Lovely service staff very attentive. Nice atmosphere .
Fantastic food and fantastic service. Expensive but worth it
Always a fab experience. Incredible food and the service is simply exceptional. Very highly recommended.
This was our first visit to Peace & Loaf, the whole experience was wonderful. From the friendly, professional staff, to the fantastic food & wine. We will be back. Huge thanks
This restaurant was a great place to eat, food was fantastic, prices were a little high for the amount of food received. Very clean, service was excellent from start to finish. Would recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Absolutely amazing night. The food on the taster menu was out of this world- each dish was like a work of art and tasted divine. We did the wine pairing too which I definitely recommend. The staff were so attentive and knowledgable and David Coulson came out to chat with us at the end.
Fab night to celebrate hubby's birthday.
We were visiting Newcastle on a cruise ship and I had read about this restaurant in a newspaper so being foodies we thought it would be great to visit while we had the chance.
It was a Monday so the restaurant was fairly quiet and there was a nice laid back vibe.Booking was easy and they checked a few times to confirm the reservation beforehand.
We started with cocktails and the choice and descriptions are really good.I had a Pimms based martini which I really enjoyed .
The menu is quite unusual and both the waiter and maitre d were very helpful explaining the dishes and how they work.We chose the fixed price lunch , 25 pounds for 3 courses plus little canapés in between .The food was very different and really good. The portions are not huge but large enough and the tastes and flavours are fantastic.
We are used to London prices so for this quality of food and wine, cocktails and liqueurs with desert to get a bill of 97 pounds was very very reasonable. We were told by the local guide on our ship that this restaurant is very popular with locals.Im not surprised to hear it .We have recommended to friends who will be up in Newcastle soon and they have already booked .
2nd visit and just as good as 1st time. Service very good, very relaxing atmosphere with exceptional food. You really feel like you've had a big treat , but without costing you an absolute fortune. We will be back
It was a gift for my 50th and we had the most amazing night
Fabulous! As always
The food was, of course, fabulous; all three courses we each chose and also the little extras the chef treated us to.
Especially special on this visit was the service regarding requests made to surprise the birthday boy. All the staff accommodated our requests with respectful and caring concern to make it special for him.
We have absolutely no hesitation in saying that we will be back.
Gorgeous food, lovely staff, lots of lovely extras which were a delicious surprise. Was great to see the chef and his team cooking whilst we ate. We will all be back x
Unbelievable food and outstanding service we definitely will be coming back.
Peace and Loaf is an absolute food experience. Difficult to describe it as you have to try it for yourself.
Had Iberian Pork which blew my head off. Five stars... 10/10 .... absolute A+
Never, ever had a bad meal here and my latest visit was to the standard I expected. I was introducing a friend so was a bit nervous in case she disagreed . Needn't have worried. Food was fabulous , service great and the Fixed Prix menu is amazing value for money . If you can, swap the desert for the assiette, well worth the extra money as you get 4 puds to share ! Already planning my next visit
Beautiful food and friendly service. Every little bit on the plate counts and is super delicious !
Unfortunately we had pre booked the tasting menu without realising there would be so much seafood/fish. I did try the majority of it but oyster, raw scallop and undercooked halibut wasn’t for me 😝. Service was excellent and couldn’t be faulted.
Amazing quality of food, and at a manageable cost on the fixed menu
Food was sublime, the wine was marvellous . Fantastic restaurant.
Fabulous food and wonderful service
Excellent food and service. The restaurant had a great relaxed atmosphere and I would highly recommend to all.
Superb as usual, with excellent wine to match. Quality continues to improve with time.
Great food and good price with Newcastle restaurant week, service was excellent. We’d definitely return.
Great food during restaurant week!
Restaurant Week menu was an absolute bargain. Great food and attentive service. Love the general atmosphere of the restaurant and i’m never let down by the quality of the dishes which are quite distinct from anywhere else in the city
As always delicious food and great service. We have always previously come without children but this time we brought our 7 week old daughter. That would be my only critism as there were no baby changing facilities.
By far the best restaurant I’ve been too. Amazing food at a price that’s fair.
Peace and Loaf is delicately crafted, delicious food in an unpretentious, relaxed setting.
Lucky enough to book in during NE2 Restaurant Week, it was also very affordable.
I have gone to peace and loaf quite a few times and it’s one of my favourite restaurants the food is brilliant and normally good service.
