Peace and Loaf Restaurant
Memorable and exceptional quality.
Fantastic food - good atmosphere. Set menu is excellent value. We will be back!
Our 5th time frequenting this amazing place. Outstanding service, food and drinks as always. Reccomend to everyone we chat to
Was a lunchtime, freezing cold in the restaurant. Not much atmosphere. Started and canopes lovely but main not great so much the it was removed from the bill
Excellent innovative food. Lovely friendly attentive staff.
I treated my friend to a meal at Peace and Loaf for her birthday last year. We were both so enthused that we went again this year. The food is excellent and just so interesting - and can cater for those who don't or can't eat certain things, with no fuss. The staff are superb - friendly, informative and helpful without ever being intrusive. In fact, brilliant as the chef is, the staff are just as important in making it a special evening out.
Food and plates were only just warm
Food poorly presented ! Some flavours were nice/interesting and the little nibbles served before the meal were tasty. But the two starters we had and the two main courses were of poor quality and a bit ‘confused’
Overall it was disappointing we didn’t send anything back (when you’re out having a nice time it’s unpleasant to have to complain and the restaurant was quite full). We did say at the end of the meal that we were disappointed and they took our first round of drinks off the bill!
Wouldn’t return !
Outstanding food and outstanding service, i've always come away with the feeling that i've had a really good experience
Always love going to Peace and Loaf, the service and food is exceptional. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because both my husband and I found the new seating downstairs very uncomfortable, the seat height is too high for the table. My husband even struggled to get in! Just something to be mindful of when choosing where to sit!
Absolutely amazing!service with a smile attention to detail, the full package!
The food was amazing, as always. This is by far and away the best dining experience in Newcastle. My Compliments to the chef and his team!
Haven't visited for awhile but the food and services are still excellent.
We had fillet steak which was sublime and cooked to perfection with triple handcooked chips. Delicious. All of the superb extras meant we were too full for pudding.
Resolved to return more often.
Forgot how good this place is. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Recommended
Great food consistently terrific
Been before and certainly delivered again. Booked to bring family from Australia whom are harsh food critics
Very good food though limited choice for non fish eater. Good service and recommend for foodies. Lamb was excellent and best chips we have ever eaten. Desserts were amazing. Recommend the sharing platter.
Everything perfect every time I or my family visit it’s perfect x the food staff faultless
What a delight! Staff were brilliant too. Look forward to going back.
I would recommend based on previous visits however the food standard is definitely slipping, poor choices and website menu not updated to latest seasonal menu. Toilets need updating, one cubicle sticky door and other loose tiles. Ambience, staff and general feel in the restaurant is great. I will be returning and hoping it’s returned back to its best
Excellent food quality and service at prices that are competitive in this sector. We really liked the canapes which were both interesting and original. We did have a rather long wait for desserts but overall the service was good. We will be back!
We’ve dined here a number of times over the years and have always held Peace & Loaf in high regard as a fine dining experience.
However on this occasion I was really disappointed. The amuse-bouche was tasteless, my starter tasted like it had been left out for ages and was dry, and the main just didn’t work - it all felt very rich, and burnt in places, definitely not to the usual standard. The boozy sorbet desert doesn’t cut it for a fine dining experience, and the cocktails just felt rushed & sub-par.
Perhaps the Christmas rush was just too much to handle, but on the occasion, very poor I’m afraid to say.
Fantastic dining experience with exquisite food. Very attentive and friendly service in a contempory restaurant. Very good value for money. Will definitely dine again!
Should have a Michelin star . Fantastic staff and food thank you
Peace and Loaf has been a regular haunt for us for about four years now. What is so good, apart from the food which is fabulous, is the friendly, relaxed atmosphere which just makes the whole experience so welcoming.
The food is always to a very high quality and still inventive. We keep meaning to try other restaurants in New castle but apart from House of Tides we keep returning.
Just wonderful. Parsnip starter fabulous. Turbot wonderful - maybe try turbot on a bed of rhubarb?
Little extras out of this world - especially black encrusted carrot mousse thing - superb.
Too full for dessert.
Given doggy boxes to take leftovers home, thank you.
Excellent food, enjoyed the whole dining experience immenseley. Will be back for more!
Welcoming and warm service; superb food and great value festive lunch menu.
Fantastic food, up there with the best I have ever experienced. This was our second visit and I can't wait to return again.
In addition to this, the staff were very accommodating. They looked like they were happy and wanted to work at Peace and Loaf which makes such a huge difference.
Fabulous as always. We had the set Christmas menu. Everything was fantastic. The aperitifs were a delight and the amouche Bouche was a Christmas dinner in a tiny bowl. So clever. Love this place. 5* every time.
Fantastic festive 3 course menu, sides are not small sides, pigs in blankets (8) roast goose fat potatoes (6 large) and massive bowl of cauliflower cheese, we were defo a bit piggish, took some home with us!
Only the second time we’ve been, but this will now be our restaurant of choice. Fabulous food, staff are lovely, lovely setting. Big thumbs up from us!!!
We only manage to go once a year so it’s a real treat and enjoy it all the more.
We really enjoyed our visit to peace and loaf. Service was excellent. Our food was very good, only downside was our goose which was tough but that could be our fault as we asked for it slightly more cooked. At £28 the festive menu was excellent value. We will certainly go again.
Never fails to impress, this was our 9th visit and the food and ambiance are absolutely amazing. Staff very friendly and professional. Can’t wait to go back 🥰
Fabulous as always. It is always special. The house wine is beautiful.
Food was inventive and plentiful. Service felt a bit slow to start with, for example it took a while before we were even asked for our pre dinner drink order. But food, once ordered, was prompt and service much improved. Disappointed that a restaurant of this quality could run out of basics like mint tea but overall a tasty and enjoyable meal and would recommend.
Good quality imaginative food well curated and presented by the staff
Great for an evening out.
We had the tasting menu and would certainly recommend it both standard and vegetarian menus.
