Peace and Loaf Restaurant
Fantastic service and food will definitely be back in the near future.
We had a lovely meal at Peace and Loaf. The service from all staff was excellent and they were all very friendly. It was our first time there and we enjoyed it very much.
I had such an amazing time for my birthday.
Extremely good experience. The assiette of desserts was a particular highlight.
We went to peace and loaf as a celebration of my relocation to Newcastle from London and was absolutely thrilled with the whole experience.
The food was spectacular- so many delicious flavours complimenting each other.
We were served a complimentary amouse bouche and intermidiate course too which was a very welcome suprise.
The service was brilliant and the price was incredible. Excellent value for money.
Fabulous meal, favourite restaurant in north east. Ideal for special occasions or simply to spoil yourself. Menu full of different flavours and as always looks and smells amazing. Love it!
Great menu, food and service. Can't believe its been so long since our last visit.
Fabulous food experience, staff were really knowledgeable about the food and drink. I would definitely recommend and will be back again. Only downside was when we arrived 10mins early for our 5:30pm the doors were locked and we had to wait outside.
Excellent food, excellent value, brilliant service
Excellent food, very friendly staff, thoroughly enjoyed our daughters 30th birthday with you
The food here is always good; this time most of it was outstanding. The service as always was very friendly; it can be a little slow at times as was the case this time. Not a very serious criticism in our case as we have time enough, but it’s not a place to go if you’re in a hurry.
I’m not sure the place has what you’d call an ambiance, but that doesn’t worry us. I’m not really sure what the word is supposed to mean.
A wonderful restaurant with great staff and delicious food. A small group of us visited for a birthday meal and we were very well looked after. One of our group is celiac and the kitchen were able to modify any dish on the menu for her. It was very nice that she could have the same choice as the rest of us.
Well worth a visit. We booked on spec having seen the chef cook on last year's Great British Menu and we weren't disappointed. Great food, friendly and welcoming service, intriguing little in between courses.
All round brilliant lunch - so full - so good. We’ll be back.
Had a lovely three course meal, food was very tasty and presented wonderfully. It was a pleasure to eat it!
An absolute gem. Staggeringly good food and amazing value. Chef was there in the kitchen, plating a great scallop starter and then a couple of magnificent mains; monkfish and lamb. Incredible bold flavours but very balanced, considered and beautifully presented. Just go!
Having been several times before this is our favourite restaurant in Newcastle. The menu is always varied and the flavours are intense. Booked again for later in the month.
Another fantastic meal- the prix fixe menu is exciting and varied and always great value. The chef’s extra dishes are a delicious bonus too!
Fabulous food, great ambience. We had a wonderful evening & can’t wait to go back.
This gem of a restaurant never fails us, though we haven't tried it at night, when we suspect it would be noisy. Loved every morsel we were served and were pleased our guests were impressed. Your waiter was very attentive and patient.
The reception was friendly, and welcoming. The waiting staff where very attentive, especially Rebecca, who I think was the sommelier, who went that extra mile to make sure we had a wine to our taste.
We ate from the al la carte menu, we enjoyed the amuse bouche, it was very different in its composition, little plates of this and that, the first course was very good, and we where looking forward to our main course, but it disappointed us, it was a bit lacking in something, I can't describe what it was, but my husband had the lamb which we expressly asked for it very rare (so it went baa) one end was cooked rare not very rare and other was overcooked, my sister had the duck which was a bit tough she had asked for it cooked a little longer than the rare, she also ordered a portion of chips, which came HUGE in portion and
enormous in size of each chip (not what you expect from a fine dining experience), we left most of it! my halibut was nicely cooked, but the accompaniments where a bit lacking, we had two sorbets which tasted very good but I would have licked them to be more dressed up, not just plonked in a glass bowl. All in all it was a pleasant evening, we where taking my sister out for a celebratory dinner, which she enjoyed, never having been to the Peace and Loaf, although she lives close by, she said it was far too expensive for her, but we said we wanted her to have the experience of eating in a top quality restaurant, which I am afraid didn't come up to scratch......sorry!
Both me and my wife found the whole experience wonderful! The food, staff and ambience were amazing. They made our 25th wedding anniversary even more memorable. We will be back!!
Went to peace & loaf and we went for fixed price 3 course menu. Stunning food and generous portions. The courses were supplemented with additional small intermediate tasters. Overall superb
Food was excellent as always, only problem was lack of selection of Wylam Brewery ales. Apart from that another excellent meal.
Excellent food and service in a great atmosphere. Catered well for all diets.
Amazing food for everyone - the faddy eater was taken good care of too! Great service, a relaxed atmosphere and good choice of music throughout the evening.
We keep going back - love this restaurant. If only it wasn't so busy in the evenings at weekends we'd go more!
The food was gorgeous as always. We felt the ambience lacking this time as we booked for 2 pm and No one else came in after us. Thus it was very quiet with no atmosphere. If I had known they were closing I would have chosen a different time. We were just told they needed the table back by 3.30.
The service was brilliant. A young Geordie lad who has been there a while. He was brilliant.
Beautiful food, beautifully presented, great service
Lovely evening very well looked after, amazing food
Father in laws 60th. Unbelievable experience!
blown away with the food, wine and extras WOW will be back
Wonderful Easter Saturday lunch. Food was excellent although maybe slightly expensive. Service was very good but inconsistent, people on table next to ours had same meal but received steak knives and their table was cleaned down between courses. But I am being ‘picky’ the extras were wonderful and meant we only needed a main course. I would recommend to others.
Great food, attentive and helpful staff....an excellent restaurant which is value for money. The a la carte menu which we had uses quality ingredients, cooked to perfection...
Everything was really lovely: staff, atmosphere and amazing delicate flavoured food with fun twists that put a smile to the face! Also enjoyed the canapés between our chosen courses.
Above expectations is the best way to describe our evening at Peace and Loaf.
Four of us had lunch here on 17.4.19 and loved it. The ambience is relaxed, service informative and attentive without dominating. But the food is fabulous, and they seem to pack so much taste into everything they serve. For us it’s a treat lunch, but it would lovely to be able to afford to eat here more often. Such an enjoyable experience.
Good food and good service. Value for the price.
The service was good but the food was very poor because my wife was served a raw lamb chop Pink is one thing but raw not very good at all
