Peace and Loaf Restaurant
Fantastic evening here celebrating a birthday. The food was absolutely exquisite. We enjoyed the additional dishes served in between courses, especially the black pudding macaroons and boozy sorbet. The atmosphere was lovely and service very good. We would definitely recommend dining here and will be visiting again.
A real gem of a place, fantastic food in an unintimidating atmosphere. Would recommend for any occasion
Fabulous! One of my favourite restaurants in Newcastle
Absolutely phenomenal place. Makes me feel sad every time I leave though going back to my own rubbish cooking! The presentation of the dishes simply takes your breath away, and the wow factor in how each and every individual ingredient is masterfully entwined with such creative flare never disappoints.
Another outstanding lunch at Peace and Loaf. Food delicious and as usual very creative.
I wanted to try this restaurant for a long time but it’s over my typical budget so we booked restaurant week. The food was stunning and the little bits between courses were added extras I had not anticipated.
Unusual, delicious food. Attentive staff. Everything tasty and well delivered, offering tastebud surprises. A perfect celebration venue, or somewhere to eat food with a difference, thoughtfully created and prepared. Great wines and cocktails and beers too.
Ate here for restaurant week 2 courses for £20. Very good value as they still provided the small bites which come with the full priced menu.
Everything was perfectly cooked and tasted delicious.
Service was as always very good.
We chose to visit the restaurant during Newcastle Restaurant Week and chose from the special menu they did for lunch and dinner. We went on a night and was cordially greeted and taken to our table. The food was very good and of fine dining quality with tasty nibbles between courses. The Wine was very good if not a little expensive. A curious part of the 2 or 3 course option was that the dessert for the evening was more expensive than most of the a la carte options when you expect on the said restaurant week to be a little cheaper . However I would revisit and try the full a la carte menu .
This is the greatest restaurant I’ve ever been too.
We visited peace and loaf for date night and a treat for us both. The service and the food were both outstanding. It was my first visit to peace and loaf as I will certainly be back.
As always, food and service excellent. Staff outstanding.
I had high expectations for Peace and Loaf but that didn't stop me from being completely blown away by our meal. From the pure brilliance found within the flavours in the food, the service that was friendly, upbeat and punctual - even the restaurant itself was a pleasure to simply be in. We had a couple of allergies that needed to be considered and the way the staff offered advice on any modifications was fantastic, and the creativity of the chefs really shone through with the adjustments that were made. Simply amazing.
Outstanding food, excellent service from staff with great knowledge of the produce. Would highly recommend for a special occasion.
Easily amongst the best food in Newcastle. The black pudding in particular was a real treat!
First class restaurant. Cannot recommend highly enough.
Our 4th visit for a date night and never fails to impress.
Food is outstanding, innovative and so full of flavour.
Can highly recommend for a special occasion or a great dining experience
had a lovely meal served by nice people, whats not to like..
Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Great service and menu. Yeah it is quite pricey but it is a bit of a food experience. Constant flow of taster plates from the kitchen also. One of my go to places
Went here on 1st August with my friend. Driven approximately 100 miles for dinner (because that’s what we do) was seated and given menus, but didn’t see tasting menu, which is what we went for. Asked the waiter, who said it had to be ordered 24 hours in advance, which I didn’t see on the website. Been to many Michelin star restaurants and those in the Michelin guide, and not had to order in advance before.
As we had driven so far, asked the waiter again, if he could please ask the chef if we could have the tasting menu. He asked came back and said yes.
The food was fantastic, and service impeccable. The staff explaining each course as it arrived. We had a great evening, fantastic food, good wine, great company . Also got to meet the Chef, David.
Thank you for accommodating us xx
This place was highly recommended by a friend and it lived up to all expectations. Great food and excellent service in a relaxed atmosphere
First visit having been unsuccessful when booking previously.
Slightly off-putting decor in some areas. Mixed quality service - both excellent and poor at different times. Very good wine list with reasonable price range.
The food was much better than the venue suggested. A bombardment of taste sensations and combinations which by-and-large worked extremely well. Small, complex dishes but with a large variety of amuse-bouches to prevent a less than full feeling at the end.
Overall an excellent evening.
The food, the setting and the ambience are the best in Newcastle and with Luke being knowledgeable about the food and the wine, and friendly, despite me calling him Linden, it was a top top meal.
A fantastic experience and a wonderful way to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food is incredible, the staff are so friendly and welcoming and it is extremely good value. 10/10
We had a lovely night for my birthday here recently, everything is outstanding! Great food, service and experience. Love this restaurant!
Excellent food and service, worth paying a bit extra for the experience
The food is always great, service is excellent. Can't fault them at all.
Very nice food and lovely staff
Great service, good food and nicely furbuished restaurant. The menu had good variety, the amuse bouche provided a good variety of tastes. Wine list provided a broad range of wines, overall a very good dining experience. Highly recommended.
Excellent food and wine pairings in 10 course taster menu. Perfect flavours to accompany outstanding wines.
A relaxed modern atmosphere with young, pleasant staff. Our meal was served quite slowly but interspersed with interesting "amuse geules" so time did not become an issue. Well worth the visit.
Excellent experience and food was delicious. Staff were attentive and the friendly.
Great and attentive service. Good food and staff were very friendly.
Think I have said it with the stars above . This was one of our return visits and I know there will be many more.
My Fiance and I wanted to try some local fine dining and chose this place. We had the choice of a table at 17:30 or 21:00 so went for the opening time, unfortunately there is absolutely nothing around the place so if you do go for the opening don't turn up early like we did. We chose the Prix Fixe menu which I guess was OK value given the amuse-bouche and entree dishes (nicer than the main meal!). The main of Pork was disappointing. I'm certainly far from being an expert but the fat was gelatinous and for me not rendered enough. The starter of Duck and dessert of banana bread were OK but far from being memorable. Sorry Peace and Loaf, you can't do much about what is or isn't around you, however, you could open your doors at 17:20 for your early birds as we were not the only people hanging about. With regards to your drinks, the South African Sauvignon Blanc, although a little expensive was excellent. For a return visit, we would have to have some recommendations from people we know and trust. We left similar feedback at the restaurant via your feedback card and we could not rate your waiting staff more highly, they were very attentive and friendly.
what a fantastic restaurant - relaxing atmosphere - great service -fantastic food
A really good way to celebrate my sons graduation with a 1st class degree from Newcastle University - with a 1st class restaurant - definitely worth a trip. well done
I visited Peace and Loaf with my family for my graduation meal on a recommendation from a friend. I was a little bit worried as some of my family members are a little picky with the food (one of them hates seafood and all the menu items have fish).
The staff were really welcoming and the restaurant is small and so feels really intimate. The waitress was lovely and explained each of the menu items to us.
We didn’t order starters and I’m glad we didn’t as before the main course we had four amuse-bouches which were really tasty.
My uncle who does not like seafood told this to the waiter who assured the kitchen would give him extra pork.
Each main had so much flavour and interesting parts to it.
I would say that my main was quite small but with the food at the start I was really stuffed at the end.
All in all it was a great experience and a real treat for my graduation!
We had booked the restaraunt months ago, before World Cup , we were doing a Likley Lads moment trying to avoid the score- other guests cheared when England scored, It always a treat to eat here!
The absolute dog bits and bobs. Great food, great staff, great service
