Had a 60 birthday dinner for my friend here! food and drinks were delicious as usual we had a great socially distanced table and place was quiet for Sunday night! Waitress not overly friendly /she looked a bit rushed or overwhelmed ! But overall a great dinner once again!

Great food. Flavor was spot on large plates are perfect if you split a small plate and a salad. I would like to see a better drink menu I feel like they have a great bar it’s just not showcased enough. A small drink menu with specialty drinks would make it great! Service was great all around. Didn’t make it to dessert but that’s not my thing.

By far one of my favorite restaurants anywhere. Never a step missed by any employee front door to the kitchen. Management is always visible and makes sure all guests are being accommodated. Excellent food. We love the small plates. Very pretty decor. Never disappoints

Was unsure on menu items/portions, hostess said folks order the “small” plates all the time and share.
Sixty-five dollars later, we came home scrounging through fridge.
Small plates true to verbiage, and food taste did not truly make up for portion size...not terrible, but not making me dream of returning.
So simply a word of warning: order large!
You may spend more in the long run, but will exit satiated.

We have forgone dining out since the start of the pandemic. Tonight, tired of our own cooking and desperate to get out of the house, we decided to go give our neighborhood favorite a shot. Lobster and asparagus ravioli in tomato and butter sauce, home run. Smoked swordfish carpaccio, home run. Pan roasted swordfish, top 3 I’ve ever had. Meticulous observances of pandemic best practices. Distancing, constant sanitizing, check out the market. Thanks for a brief, but perfectly executed afternoon meal out. We love Pentimento. We had our first date there in 1989. My sisters and husbands celebrated early Christmas dinner there on Dec 13. The staff was professional and quite accommodating. The food, as always, was delicious.

Lisa was extremely helpful in accommodating me and my friend (who needed a particular arrangement.) Waiter & rest of staff were courteous and attentive.
We had a really nice experience/lunch.
Also enjoyed "The Market".

My favorite place for years, they’re doing it right during COVID. Spaced tables, no one at the bar but still very personable and impeccable service. You will not be disappointed.

One of my favorite places but... we had a 630 reservation and we were rushed to order because they wanted to close early. It wasn’t a great experience this time.

Great food, service and ambiance. So happy to be able to dine there again. They also followed all virus guideline impeccably.

Fair and Good. Great location, ambiance isn’t really something that you love to hang out, food is good including the price range, service is good but not good enough.

Food was great, service was good except our waitress at one point disappeared the hostess had completed our dining experience. Otherwise everything was great!!

Pentimento has a great outdoor patio for dining, plus some spaced-out indoor seats. Great food and COVID-friendly. Not a wait for our food, either, so it was good for a quick lunch.

Love this place. Their garden we ate in is beautiful and nicely spaced with other tables. The food was very good (we both had the steak) and the service just right. We have not yet been disappointed as we keep coming back.

Food arrives super fast. I loved my pasta (fettucini with shrimp), but the appetizers (fried calamari and tuna tartare)were just average.

Great food and service, mussels were outrageous. We had a really nice dinner prior to a show at the Stellar Theatre at Stony Brook University

Swordfish was excellent

The waiter was unprofessional. Rush ordering process and shared his distaste that order did not include anything more than main dish or drink upgrades. Waiter did not return with actual cash change. The portion size was small in comparison to price. I counted six small microwaved raviolis for the price of $23 or $3.83 per single raviolis.

The food was outstanding and the service was very good.

The food here is great. I've been twice and am never disappointed. We came for lunch this time. There weren't a lot of people in the restaurant (it was a weekday), but our server was still incredibly absent-minded about us. She brought drinks to surrounding tables that had been seated after us, before she brought over a tea I had ordered when I sat down. The bill was left on our table with my card in it for at least five minutes. But she did get the order right. She was perfectly nice to us, but I saw her roll her eyes at a group of older women, who had just walked in and in the disorientation, blocked her way. It's just little things you notice. Food still great though.
